People are saying Hublot is overpriced. But with its own in house movement the definition of 'overpriced' still adequate? APROO is equipped with a self-winding calibre 3126/3840 which based off of the Audemars Piguet in-house calibre 3120 with the Dubois Depraz chronograph module with 50 hrs power reserve. While the Unico calibre is equipped with hublot in house movement fly-back Chronograph with 72hrs power reserve. The amount paid for a Stainless steel APROO = King Gold Big Bang Unico.
I understand why these are divisive design wise, but I find it laughable that some people hate on Hublot for their fast and loose marketing practices - folks are fooling themselves if they think that's not industry standard.
Hublot is probably the single most underrated brand in horology. Sure, they're overhyped in celebrity circles, and the designs admittedly aren't for everyone, but the image that brings has caused too many watch lovers (and the watch community as a whole) to seemingly completely dismiss Hublot as some kind of overpriced fashion watch. This is a shame, because even if they aren't to everyone's taste (although remember, taste is subjective) they're actually really impressive watches, especially those with in house movements (like this one).
I know this is an old comment, but hold content doesn’t matter much in luxury watches since they’ll never be sold at their gold value, and always exceed the gold value. Even if this watch was made in solid 18k gold it wouldn’t be but maybe $6k-$8k in actual gold, but the watch sells for x2-x3 that price. Same with all luxury brands.
A watch that makes the oversized plastic Casio's look good by comparison. There are Hublot models I kind of like, but this isn't one of them. For 20 grand they can at least figure out the Royal Oak trick of having the front facing bolt heads line up. With that being so obviously off, what other details did they cheap out on?
The difference between these bolts and the ones on a Royal Oak is that, unlike on the RO, these are actually serving a functional purpose, specifically holding the bezel and crystal in place (instead of existing for purely aesthetic purposes), which is why they don't all perfectly line up.
