From experience I have found that though the higher pitched bells were louder, a lot of older pedestrians can not hear it at all. So the ting bell might actually be the safer bell to use.
I use a generic Chinese electric siren that sounds like a home alarm. It cost me $1.39 with free shipping and uses triple A batteries. I love coming up behind people and laying on my horn for a couple seconds. The looks you get from people are absolutely priceless and entertaining to say the least. Thanks for the video and info. Thumbs up
I bought the Mirrycle Incredibell Adjustabell 2 Bike Bell $7.16 Amazon. This was a good review, I appreciate the time and effort you took to make it. I found this bell to be all that the overall winner was and it was readily available.
I haven't used a bell since the early eighties - lol - but I must admit, I find the Ting Tingbell the most appealing due to it's appearance... Thanks for the review... =]
Congratulations Marvin! You've also won a Ting Tingbell. I've sent you a private message, so please respond to that message to get the prize shipped your way :D
It's indeed inspired by the Knog and the much cheaper TWOOC (see Aliexpress) bells. Compared to TWOOC they aim to deliver a higher quality and improved loudness. The design and finishing of the Knog Oi are in my opinion definitely better. I can't speak of the quality unfortunately, since I didn't have one for this test.
The Oi seems to cost similar to the Tingbell (at least looking at Amazon prices - which is lower than directly from Knog (Can't find the Tingbell on Amazon though)). (In a physical shop in South Africa, not so much... It was the only non-conventional option though) (The official shop charges the same in $ and €, which does not help...)
Don't know if i'm still in time to participate but i really could use a bell on my bike. Thanx for your great reviews looking forward for feature stuf.
Been using 1€ bells that I found from nearest grocery store =P Usually last about 6-12 months each, before the "ringer" snaps off, but with that price you can just buy 5 or more of them at once (like I did).
I recommend getting a Timber Bell or similar. perfect for mtb, no need to ring the bell, so you get more control over the bike. it's not effected by water, like normal bells, classic metal bells work well too, but I prefer Timberbell cus I don't have to ring it. The timber bell has a switch so it can be deactivated, or switched to mild ring. MY written review, with pictures & vid: wp.me/p60aTF-2rl
Why not put the time that you tested the loudness of the bells in the "Show more" list. I couldn't find the comparisons by scrolling through so I gave up and added to a tick your neg list.
When you ring each bell, you should have stated WHICH MODEL it was before you rang it rather than just ring them one after the other and then show their decibel level afterwards in a chart.
i cant even find a bell that cost less than €10 and those are the cheap ones you get on the worst bikes ever, the average price of the decent ones or similar to what youve shown are €15 and up

The TingBell is good looking!😍 i am owning one!💥
I just got a Knog oi. (The tingbell seems to be inspired by it)
The mounting mechanism is better....

Nice review. You forgot to mention in summary Mounty can be rotated while Cateye cannot.

Thanks! The announcement is tomorrow, so you're still in time ;)

Or you could buy a bell that cost 5€ and keep it for years.
@@Bipbiprna Or you could stop necroing old posts. dickhead
@@Pienimusta Or you could stop posting on the internet if you don't like people to answer to them, cretin.
I’d use the ting bell
Thank You!

Love from India ❤

I like the concept, just keep it on while descending when there are hikers and keeping your hand (firmly) on the handlebars.
The tingbell looks amazing, and what is 15 euro’s on a bike of 700?
I got a $5 one with compass on top. It fits next to my grip and doesn't interfere with shifting. I win.
Gonna get the cateye. Thanks for the good review!
Do you know how to extend the part of the bell strap that wraps around the handlebars?
I dont really own a bell it would be nice to have one
But you didn't review the Knog Oi bell which is what the Ting bell is a cheaply made copy of.
Why not put the time that you tested the loudness of the bells in the "Show more" list.

Hands down for ting ting bell
I like the ting tingbell the most becuse it looks good but i think its to pricy
Congratulations Riquel! You won a Ting Tingbell! Send me a message through UA-cam (ua-cam.com/users/MTBguideabout) so I can send you your prize :D
Wow what a nice bell
What’s the best bell if you don’t care about the budget? I just want mine to be as loud and light as possible. Thanks!
spurcycle
The Ting goes skrrraaaa
I bet ting isn't to happy they sent you the bells lol.
I have won thank you so very much this is the first time i have won a give away

Yea, you got a point there. Thanks for letting me know, I'll keep it in mind for the next group test ;)
any bell that pedestrians can hear is a good bell... Stay off the bike paths if your a pedestrian!
It's sound
I'm too late for the givaway.. ;)
Bells are too nice for some people, sometimes you need to blast them with a loud horn so they don't get in front of you...
All of these bells break too easily, in my experience.
i cant even find a bell that cost less than €10 and those are the cheap ones you get on the worst bikes ever, the average price of the decent ones or similar to what youve shown are €15 and up
Too much talking
All those bells Suck!!
8 minutes of talking about bike bells and you deliberately didn't let us hear how any of them sound. this video is a waste of time.
