@@myfredo898 if you are generating more ideas in general, then someone with a positive predisposition will generate many positive ideas. If they have a negative predisposition then it could be negative ideas. So if you apply this to ideas about your self this can be an affliction.
I don't mean it as a criticism. Take Elon Musk for example, he said something like "people shouldn't want to be me. My mind is a chaos of ideas etc..."
man, tell me about it. Sometimes best ideas come at the most inopportune time, and can be very very distracting from the task at hand. Similarly, a generally “”over-active”” mind can be dangerous without guardrails,
I really like the insight about how intentionally trying puts us in a narrow state, that’s pretty true agreed on all points, I think distractions just take up a ton of brain space and don’t give the time to find patterns. Also, it can use up our mental energy if we cram the brain with too many ideas to look at in one period. If you wanna tackle an idea, the less other things the brain has the process, the better. This is why being bored is great, your brain might feel kinda empty, but it’s trying to find *something* to devote all this energy into. and often times all that energy into one thing can result in a brand new idea. (I think that’s how this works lol)
Beautiful video
Having lots of ideas isn't always a gift, it can be an affliction

Yes it can also be that one can have lots of ideas they want to pursue but will always be behind on them or never be able to act on them
