Pretty sure it was after that 15 year old in a sexual way, especially if she was still a virgin. Seems like an incubus to me. They can present themselves, but they can only be welcomed willingly.
The timing on this is pretty good! I'm in an old house, alone, moving the last bit of my stuff out, and the creepy ambiance plus the story had me jumping at every shadow, especially as the sun sets and the abysmal interior lighting as I've taken out all my lamps have made the house even darker and spookier. It doesn't help that in the years I've lived at this address, I've never felt entirely alone. . .
You can follow the video up with some 80s cheese, an episode of sesame street or some heavyweight boxers calling each other names for a chuckle, you'll feel much better!
They're well on their way! Sooner or later, everyone is bound to stop having the idea of 'creepy' being videos of doors moving half an inch, or pixels moving through an apartment living room, so that it takes a circle drawn around the "entity" to even see it. Genuine creep comes from stories that hold up even when you apply healthy skepticism, and HERE is where you find exactly that.
I agree! I’ve been watching them for over 3 years now, and I’m glad to see their channel growing, but their content honestly deserves way more views than it gets!
I agree. I've been a great lover of reading books, thus causing me to have a great imagination. As I walk I usually tuck my phone in my pocket, but I could already visualize the young teen coming home, the cat attacking her, the sounds of the footsteps, and the description of the terrible creature yikes!!
This is a good one. Interesting that in every encounter with the visible beast, no matter how terrifying it is or how it could have a distinct advantage over someone in terms of size and speed... it runs away every time. It scares people badly... but it seems reluctant to stick around and capitalize on that fear after it's been seen. That kinda implies sentient thought, rather than something more animalistic.
Planting shards of glass under pillows and hair pulling are not harmless pranks. You are aware that this is the same pattern these entities follow I assume? Obsession, oppression, then possession, but only if it’s allowed to continue.
I am reminded of the childhood story of the early anthropologist/ethnologist Gudmund Schütte who, as a three year old, saw a "polar bear" walk through a room of the ancestral mansion. His wet nurse's extreme shock is what carries the legitimacy of the story.
Sounds like the daughter spooked the demon "Balthazar! What is it? What's wrong?" "I think I just fell into the Backrooms or something! I was just walking around the gore nest and I fell through the floor and into this really mundane-looking house. I walked down the stairs and there was this creepy little pale creature with a flat face and weird long hair! When it saw me it screamed like nothing I've ever heard before! It was horrible!"
This is a true story I have heard many times. It’s sad that the heads ‘were given to a local man’ and were later lost. I cannot fathom a museum giving such items to anyone at all, today. It seems to have been a very irregular happening even as recent as the 1970’s. Anyone approaching a museum today and asking to take artifacts away for personal ‘study’ would certainly need to have an established academic qualification and interest but would be unlikely to be allowed to take items away.
They got passed from expert to expert, before falling into the hands of Southampton University. To which it ended up with a physic and lost. Fantastic! A story close to my heart. I lived near Hexham when I was a kid, and I still remember the story from BBC Nationwide - scared me half to death!
Read about them in Weird England. They sure are creepy, that I’ll agree with. I did a little research and apparently they haven’t been seen in a long time. To me the heads look more prehistoric rather than Celtic but then again as we don’t really know about Celtic rituals of England I can’t say.
@@marhawkman303 True. The fact that, as far as is known, there was never a Celtic presence in that part of England suggests we might be looking at the origin of the head cult. Those heads might date back to the Beaker people. It’s too bad no archaeological excavation was conducted at the house as any artifacts could have helped decipher the mystery of the Hexham heads.
That is the problem with stone, as stated in the episode it can't be carbon dated, without other materials. So they could be 1 year old to prehistoric.
@@countofdownable Yep which is why I lamented the lack of an excavation conducted at the house site. If archaeologists had found artifacts in the layer the heads were located in we would have a better understanding of the age.
@Gabe because most arent here to hurt us. Either they test us, miss us, are curious, observing, or responsive to what we do and what we ask and say. The ones that are bad are more rare than ones that arent when you consider how many have instances of beings they didnt understand and creeped them out but never hurt them. Us being scared doesnt make them bad, as you know. So, idk. I feel many showcase their appearance based on the beliefs of those they encounter and thats been happening for millenia.

I love this channel, since your first upload I’ve been hooked. Would it ever be possible to dub the narration in Spanish or provide Spanish subtitles? My mom loves the visuals and I translate but it would be great for her to see the videos without needing me to translate.
A young female barista here in Fremantle came from Hexham. One of the customers (IC - idiot customer) decided it was a good idea to tease her about the Hexham Heads, saying it was a fake and that Hexham was only put on the map because of it. The poor girl was shaking with fear and visibly sweating. I told IC to STFU and leave it alone and the manager of the shop told IC to take his coffee and get out. I got the barista into a seat and from what I could get out of her was that, she lived in Rede Ave, and had been visited by Sheepman (as she called the humanoid entity) and that every time she saw it, her house was stuffy and the air was thick and unbreathable, even though outside was mostly windy and sunny. She also showed me a photo she took of the street outside her house and the pic showed the basic street, houses, etc, but there seemed to be a faint shadow of a horned head and part of a claw. I never saw that photo again, but she refused to talk about it. So, yes, I take this case extremely seriously. I've never been to Hexham but the photo this young woman showed me was shocking to say the least.
Missed these videos! Please make a video about the UFO incident or incidents in Colares Brazil were many people were actually attacked by UFO’s. Or Chupa Chupa I believe the locals called them at the time. Many UFO’s and their occupants were witnessed. They’d shoot people with a beam of light, paralysing them. These people would then suffer from a rare form of anaemia. The Brazilian military had to be sent in and carried out surveillance and that was called Operação Prato or operation plate in English. A lot of evidence in this case. Very interesting and surprisingly not that well known unless you’re in the circles lol Another video I’d love to see from you guys is a video about the Petrozavodsk UFO incident or the Jellyfish UFO incident as it’s known. Hundreds of witnesses including a doctor of geophysical sciences. That particular doctor said that the night before the incident there were strange lights in the sky and that they gave off some sort of mist that rained down on the town and gave them amnesia. Very strange and again surprisingly not that well known case

It reminded me of the story of
M.R.James, "Whistle and I'll come to you my lad". 😳
thank you for the new episode! please dont stop making videos! we highly enjoy them! i love all this cryptid stuff! gratitude! thank u ! thank u !
Like many other comments, good to see you back Rich. Top quality content as usual guys.
Finally a story I haven't heard, and this one was a goode! And the art work,..amazing.
I don't want you guys to be overworked, but...more! Can't get enough of you, and the fascinating content.
Always exciting seeing new content. Thanks for another great episode!
To echo sentiments from others here, hope you're feeling better, Rich!
Really happy to see a new upload from one of my absolute favourite UA-cam channels, will wait until I'm home and in bed before watching though as just doing my last drop of the night when I got the notification 😊
You a drug dealer?

Long and medium distance haulier and courier. Thanks for such an odd comment though 😂

See above.
These are type of stories that brought me to your channel. The artwork is fantastic, the stories are haunting and can't wait for more to come! For me, settling in with a spooky story is the end of a perfect day! Can hardly wait for the next!
Was dying waiting for the next episode, so glad it's here!
Fantastic! A story close to my heart. I lived near Hexham when I was a kid, and I still remember the story from BBC Nationwide - scared me half to death!
Still scares me half to death now!
Yes I remember it on Nationwide too. Don't think I slept that night!
Ladies and gentlemen, our friends are back with a story to tell.
And one that we should all remember well
I’ve literally check their UA-cam channel weekly to see if one has come out
Js lol
And here goes my sleep
Gather round..
Read about them in Weird England. They sure are creepy, that I’ll agree with. I did a little research and apparently they haven’t been seen in a long time. To me the heads look more prehistoric rather than Celtic but then again as we don’t really know about Celtic rituals of England I can’t say.
yeah funny thing about Celts... lack of writing mixed with how the Romans treated them means that there's a lot we'll NEVER know.
Maybe people who were there before Doggerland sank?
It’s interesting that, in every instance mentioned, the apparition fled when encountered
@@Dravianpn02 It makes me think of how difficult it will be when we encounter intelligent aliens. They'll be just as afraid of us.
@@Dennis-nc3vw Not afraid necessarily, disappointment more likely.
@@Dravianpn02 lol
@@Dennis-nc3vw great convo.
Two great things today. First the temps above freezing the sun's out and much of the ice from last weeks storm is gone. Second and even better,a new BTS upload. After nearly falling down the stairs rushing to put my laundry in the dryer first, I had a nice creepy story to enjoy. As usual, great story and artwork. Hadn't heard of this one before.
A welcome return thanks for all your hard work and thanks again for such an enjoyable way to spend an evening.
I love it when you guys have videos on things I've never heard of before! this one is super creepy. Fantastic illustrations as always (the staircase scene gave me chills). Hope Rich is feeling like himself again!
I freaking LOVE it when you drop a video!! you're quite literally my top 3 channels i like hearing on these subjects
The legendary channel has returneth to us with a great upload!
Wow boys.. everything about your channel is top notch. I'm from Bedford UK and love turning the lights out maybe having a little dabble and going there.. your stories are so immersive. Big up..
Great narration and artwork as always. This horrific tale deserves to researched further and perhaps made into a film.
Very glad to see a new episode. Thank you so much. Hope all is well from, America.
So creepy but fantastic. Thank you. And welcome back :D
Happy to hear your feeling better. Nice to see a new video from the Bedtime Stories team.
Great to have You back! Hopefully all healthy and recovered! Great video, Thank You guys! 🖤🖤🖤🖤
I never have heard of this! Really neat intersection of relics and cryptids.
Jz in time for my bedtime.
On a more serious note, really hope your all better Rich. We're all rooting for you
Welcome back! Hope you're much better Rich. I know this going to be good!
Was looking forward to this post :D
So glad you're back! I was in Bedtime Stories withdrawal! 🌙
as a supposedly evil, malevolent entity, having an aversion to screams is probably the worst weakness to have.
Great as usual! I fell asleep in the middle and have to watch again. Really enjoy your stories!
Next time I go camping I want Rich and Simon to come along to narrate the campfire stories.
This is why I subbed to your channel many moons ago. Keep up the great work. Take care and stay healthy and happy. Until next time.
It's good to see you guys are back with a new amazing episode.
I like today's video so much that it's very interesting and amazing. :) ;) :D :P
Thank you for doing this, I have waited for so, so long for someone to cover these events, I remember reading about them from a ghost book as a kid and became hooked on the story ever since.
I cannot even remember how many times I’ve put this into the suggestion box for you and likeminded channels!
I'm from Bellingham, a nearby village to Hexham and have never heard this story! Hexham is steeped in history. The Hexham Gaol was the first purpose built jail in England to cope with the overwhelming amount of thieves and murderers in the area.
Aces! Great story I’ve never heard of before. Thank you! As always love the illustrations and presentation. Thanks to the whole team. Been such a fan for so long!
I love seeing these vids.
Glad Rich is feeling better, or at least well enough to do this video. This was a really good story, thanks gang!
Great story, fantastic artwork !
Excellent stuff. And I remember reading about these heads in different books on the supernatural/paranormal. I hope you cover The Vampire Of Croglin Grange at some point.
Okay, this one got to me. Great job. Wow!
So glad you're back!
this was an awesome episode. loved the story. also the entity seemed interesting. i'd be scared of it to be sure but it also sparked an interest to know what the entity was.
Fabulous story loved it well done missed you all and what great content to. Would like to hear more of these content please and cursed paranormal true stories too. Loved it
That poor creature, probably just wanted to be Berniece's friend ran away after being rejected in such a ear piercing manner, it didn't attack her or anything.
Aye, the poor thing wasn't violent, it just wanted to be accepted.
@@christrickett3291maybe the heads were chess pieces of the creature
Thanks for sharing this with us
Getting closer and closer to that deserved 1 million subs! Great episode guys, thanks for your continued hard work, I would say its unparalleled but wartime stories is up there aswell! Cheers friends.
I have listened to every story you have told, so now I've downloaded every story. Now I can listen to these stories anytime I want. The best thing I've found here on UA-cam. 😘❤❤
That creature heard that scream was like hey I'm the one that's scared. And bounced.
I was wondering if you were ever coming back. I'm glad you are still producing content and I hope you upload more often
A man I once worked with, someone who was never thought of as a bullshitter.....he claimed a thing like this once stood at the top of the stairs in a house we worked in as a support worker
Strange
Good to see you back i really missed your amazing videos
Extra creepy episode, fantastic story.
Glad you’re feeling better Rich 🍻
Such a long weekend at work plus winter storms making it worse. This return is even more welcomed on my end.
Seems way too far fetched but it's a fun story. Just imagine being the misunderstood wolfy-guy. Living alone with 2 stone heads, just wanting to be loved and have a friend - but yet his appearance makes people scream in terror and he has to run away and feel sad. Poor fella.
Hope you are feeling well Rich. Nice to have a Sunday evening scary story from Bedtime Stories. xxx Stay Safe xx
Finally getting to settle in to watch this now 😊
Good opening to the story. You really intrigued me. I mean, I was going to watch anyway, but you really pulled me in this time. Well done!
I love this channel, since your first upload I’ve been hooked. Would it ever be possible to dub the narration in Spanish or provide Spanish subtitles? My mom loves the visuals and I translate but it would be great for her to see the videos without needing me to translate.
holly sh- I was tired of waiting. Welcome back bro. we missed your content so muuuch.
This reminds me of the story "Oh whistle and I'll come to you" by M. R. James.
Another brilliant video.
Great video.
Thanks for the update.
Very interesting and surprisingly not that well known unless you’re in the circles lol
Another video I’d love to see from you guys is a video about the Petrozavodsk UFO incident or the Jellyfish UFO incident as it’s known. Hundreds of witnesses including a doctor of geophysical sciences. That particular doctor said that the night before the incident there were strange lights in the sky and that they gave off some sort of mist that rained down on the town and gave them amnesia. Very strange and again surprisingly not that well known case
Great video guys!!
Always a good day when we get a new Bedtime Story!!
Havent watched yet, not bedtime for me yet, but nice to see you lads back!!
I’ve been marathoning The Ancient Magus Bride and as soon as I saw the entity come down the stairs the first thing I thought was, “put your pants back on, Elias!” It helps that this takes place in England too.
Brilliant, never heard of this before!
When we need them most, they returned! Hope Rich is better :)
I'm amazed to see a story from a town so nearby me! I'm so glad to have found your channel, everything has so much effort in it and there's so must intrigue.
When you bring mysterious artifacts home and forget about them, you've just signed up for the Antiques Road Show in... The Bedtime Zone.
Maaaan im so glad i discovered this channel recently. My only complaint is that ive woke in a panic several times now at the whispering just before the end of every video
A terrifying story about a monster that runs for its life every time a human sees it.
poor little guy
If you listen to closely to a lot of scary stories, it's actually very likely the monsters are as scared of us as we are of them. It reminds me of the story of the rabbit hunter boy who chased a Skinwalker through Skinwalker Ranch.
Wild Speculation
This creature is an illusion with visual and auditory elements generated by some spirit entity that "haunts" the stones
