- I'm thrilled to celebrate Indian Independence Day with a sweet treat that's close to my heart. Since tapioca is easily available in Kerala, India, where I'm residing now with my husband's family, I chose to make "Pichi Pichi" as a surprise treat for my loved ones.
"Pichi-pichi" is a traditional Filipino dessert made from tapioca, water, and sugar, molded into small, chewy balls. These bite-sized treats are typically steamed to perfection, giving them a soft, slightly firm texture and a sweet, neutral flavor. Often served with grated coconut or sugar, pichi-pichi is a beloved snack or dessert in the Philippines, enjoyed by people of all ages for its simple yet satisfying taste and texture.
