  • It was certainly not a trip we wanted to make, but we both knew we had to. We will always miss Billmaa.

    Ever since I got over the initial shock of hearing about the loss of Billy, I have been wondering and worried about Tracy. You have to have a special bond with somebody to ride 470 miles to their house just to START a trip. All those miles, all those sights, all those meals, all those shared experiences. I wish you well, Trace. You helped Billy make the most of the short time he spent here. Bless you, young man.

    My son started riding at 17 and although I would occasionally take his bike for a short ride, in my 50's, I had stopped riding due to the all things life throws at you. Now at 61, my son has a different bike and was urging me to get one, so, when I had the opportunity to obtain the same make and model, - I was back on two wheels. 'Born again', so to speak, by the little boy who used to ride on the back with his dad, I was having a ball, and I began watching every motorcycle video I could find. Enter Billy and Tracy - I spent several nights marathon watching these guys and all my past riding experiences came rushing back. I absolutely love these guys. Having not been involved in the motorcycle world during billmaa's conception and long run, I was just heart broken when I learned of Billy's passing even before I had actually discovered him.
    I just want you to know that keeping Billy's legacy alive brought a great deal of joy and encouragement into my life and I'm sure it will do the same for others that will come after me. To Billy: Thank you brother, you will be remembered. To Tracy: Thank you brother, for being equally responsible for that joy and encouragement and for helping to keep it all rolling. And to Kevin: Thank you brother for keeping the legacy alive. So, Tracy or Kev - if you ever find yourselves in Missouri, and you come across a white KLR (or perhaps a BMW 1200 GSA) with a BWOM sticker on it, stick around, I'd love to buy you guys a drink and raise a toast to Billy.

      Thanks very much for the reply. Work has been very busy lately, but I think I have finally had time to dig into working on the movie, with a target of maybe getting it out by the end of the year. Next year I am planning (all things working out) of doing a ride to the tail of the dragon and barber and doing meet ups along the way. Thats a heck of a ride from Missouri, but if you guys get a chance to get out to it, Ill publish the info sometime at the beginning of the year. I appreciate the comments for sure. Id love to put it on the bywayofmotorcycle.com website, and if you want to email me the story with a couple of pics, ill add them too. my email is kevweez.bwom@gmail.com.

    Thank you for continuing Billy's channel. You've even captured the spirit of his videos in this one. I've had the priviledge of riding with Billy, and I've met Tracy several times. Keep up the good work, and thanks.

    10 years ago BWOM Clam Chowder inspired me to ride. So, on my 40th birthday that year i bought a 125cc bike and learned. Several dozen bikes later and with 200k miles under my belt, the inspiration i got from Billy is still alive. I have crammed more into my life this past decade than I ever did during the first 40 yrs... Billys inspiration reached me in the UK and made real positive changes to my life.... Thankyou Billy and Tracy, for all that you did to inspire me.

      Thanks for the kind words. its amazing how Billy found this venue and how many people he has affected. If you want to send me a pic of you with your bike and the story (kevweez.bwom@gmail.com), Ill put it up on the Bywayofmotorcycle.com website. I am trying to get a whole bunch of that stuff together for his son, as I think it will be cool for him to be able to read this stuff. ALSO, I am planning a trip to the UK for Silverstone MotoGP. Ill be staying in London. If you have any tips, shoot me an email with that also. Thanks for the comments for sure.

    RIP Billy. I'm UK based but will be flying my bike over to the the US for a 3 month, 12,000 mile road-trip and will think of Billy everytime I pass one of the state signs. He was, and always will be, an inspiration to bikers all over the world.

    Really looking forward to this. It was good to see Tracy again after so many years! I found billmaa and busasaurus rex back in 2009, and they inspired me to make my own vlogs. Billy and Tracy were always great about responding to questions and comments. I was truly sad when I found out Billy had passed. You and Tracy are doing something truly special to commemorate an incredible guy. Thanks for this!

    His videos inspired me to make my licence. It was riding that helped me live through depression and beat it, clear my head before important decisions. Billma got me into biking, which got my wife into biking. And this in turn generated some of the most memorable trips and moments in our relationship. Because someone uploaded videos to UA-cam. I wish I could have bought him a Yungling, I really do. To you, kind sir. You WILL be remembered.

      I agree for sure. I plan to do a ride (with Tracy) to Barber and Tail of the Dragon next year). I kept a little bit of the ashes to spread some there. Long story short, since this ride was just Tracy and I, I thought I would open that one up and see who wanted to come out and maybe do a meet up.

    Very nice trailer, Kevin. Can't wait to see the whole production. I appreciate you and Tracy and everyone else who is involved with this project. It's bringing some closure to those of us who had been planning to follow his trail to Prudhoe. My riding buddy and I are still going to make that trip... mostly because Billy showed us how much fun it could be to go out across the country with your best friend on motorcycles.

    • @billymusick
      @billymusick  7 років тому +1

      No kidding. That is going to be a heck of a haul. Every time I talk to Tracy about it, he says he tells everyone, "go to Alaska, don't waste your time on the Prudhoe part". That being said, he did. haha. It was for sure incredible. Keep me updated!!!

    • @koehlerrk1
      @koehlerrk1 7 років тому

      Will do. The target date is June 2020, because we're leaving from upstate NY. 4500 miles each way. Neither of us has any kind of trip experience yet, so we're building up to that trip. Should be one heckuva ride, and we expect to have a bunch of good times along the way. As for Prudhoe... we'll see how far along the Dalton we get. We've agreed that the Arctic Circle is a definite "must do" but after that it's largely going to depend on weather, road condition, and rider condition. We'll have to see how it looks when we get there, and adjust our plans accordingly.

    Well done. Another video in Bill's spirit. I loved seeing his posts on my UA-cam feed, always something interesting or enlightening from a motorcycle point of view. I miss him. I feel the loss of a kindred spirit yet we never met. I can't explain it but suffice to say the loss way too soon. Gonna think of ya every time I push this old body beyond its comfort level on a bike. You rock!

      @billymusick  7 років тому +1

      Thanks for that. It definitely isn't easy, which shows the amount of work and love he put into them. When we were younger, we made videos, more star wars style in that we had no digital editing software. Maybe some of those will make it into the movie. Thanks again.

      Haha, I remember one of the videos he used the star wars style text intro.
      Yeah, he did it for the love of it. I was chatting with him once through PM's and asked about him using copyrighted music and it affecting the monetization, to which replied " I never did it for the money, I just enjoy it" I loved that. I do miss chatting with him.

    I am sad because i didn't find Billy's channel until he passed. For some strange reason I am drawn to his videos. I guess it could because he and Tracy are Midwest guys and I am from Nebraska. . I have Signal Mountain now on my bucket list. I plan on stopping by to pay my respects. If we had friends like Tracy and Kevin we would all be blessed. You guys are great. I await the final cut. Maybe down the road i will be lucky to meet both of you. Because of Billy I have purchased video editing software so I can post my videos. i have done a few in the past but they are just rough cuts without sound other than wind noise. Billy has given me the inspiration to try this thing called Motovlogging.

      Thank you. In the vid, Ill have the exact spot we spread the ashes for anyone who wants to know. I really appreciate the kind words. It was because he was the guy that he was that Tracy and I were willing to go the extra mile (or 4600 miles for that matter). Purchasing the video software is a big deal, and for me, the learning curve with it wasn't bad, but getting that first bit of it figured out was a real bugger. I appreciate your comments for sure.

      billmaa Hey Kevin life happens. I know it will be great when you are done. Did you and Tracey have any problems? I hope not, did you ride the Viffer? Billy was a great guy. I never got to meet him in person but feel we were kindred souls. I watch his vids still and it’s almost surreal to know he is gone. When I go to signal mountain I’ll have a beer and hang out a while. Take care my friend.

      missionplatinum honestly, though problems would have made for an interesting bit of video, we really had very few problems and most were easily remedied. Even the weather completely cooperated. I rode an fz8 and trace rode the busa. Billy’s vfr is safe in Tracy’s garage where it will probably stay for years except for the occasional ride.

      billmaa Kevin does the video show where you guys leave Billy? When I stop to visit, I’m going to bring him a beer. What was his preference...being an Air Force retiree myself I know beer you don’t buy is best but Billy was special and I would want to bring his fave. The VFR, Tracy will be a great steward. Billy has some great friends.

      missionplatinum well it is not flashy, but yuengling always held a special place for him. As far as the location that we scattered his ashes, yep, it will be in the movie, which I am working on now and hope to have out by the end of the year or early January at least. I would be happy to email you the location info if you are going earlier than that.

      I don't know. I think a lot of people have been able to, but I have had problems before. I am going to post the preview link on bywayofmotorcycle.com today, so if you go there, maybe the link will work??? I am not too great at the tech help side.

My girls have been watching his videos. Because I want.them to see they can accomplish there goals in life like he did. God bless him for putting his experience on film. Shows you you may have to slow down for a bit from work to see life.

      I originally started watching motovlogging because of djcipster4breaks, he lived in my state. Dunno what happened to him, he deleted his channel and disappeared. Your channel is one of favorites, along with woodenchairs, downshift83, ashf00t, and bmastamoneycash. shockofgod was ok until he started forcing all his religious beliefs on everyone. Apparently a known motovlogger has died? have any info on it?

      gdfschimpi007 Billmaa passed away. I am his buddy Kevin and I took over his UA-cam to keep it going for him. He has heart complications around Christmas Eve. It was very sudden and shocking to all of us. As far as any other vloggers, I’m unaware.
