When I was looking for a bass amp a few years ago, all that was out there that suited my needs was the GK and the Rumble. Unfortunately, I chose the Fender(make no mistake, it's not a bad amp at all but it's not for me) and now Orange and Blackstar have the amps I wanted. Maybe it's because all of my amps are Orange, Blackstar and Egnater that it's a unique sound I desire. I hate selling most gear since you get hosed on the value, so it looks like I am getting a second amp. Just have to find one at a retailer and compare it to the Orange
The 500 makes sense if you’re gonna be running it with a passive extension cab. Otherwise how far are you gonna push 500 watts out of 2’10s? If you’re gonna go the proprietary Blackstar extension cab route then the 250!seems the most sensible .
These amps are very versatile and the 500 is loud as you need. Im probably getting one over the Ampeg BA-210, sounds better IMO and way more features. Unlike the Rumble or Ampeg BA series, you get the full power here, 500 watts is 500 watts, not 350 like the Rumble or 283 like the BA-210. Not to mention the 15 inch extension cab is powered! Killer amps.
what kind of music do you play? If you play Motown, Reggae or classic rock, probably go for the Rumble. If you play anything else, get this. The Blackstar is capable of those tones too but not quite as smooth.
Blackstar has a more modern and hifi tone and the overdrive section is much better than the Rumble amp. However the Rumble is a great solid amp that sounds like a bass amp should. I’m using the 250w powered extension cab with my Sansamp RBI and for large rooms or outdoor events I run a GK 1001rb into a Aguilar GS 410 4ohm cab and I run a line out of the Sansamp to the Blackstar 1x15 adding another 250 watts and a good bit more stage volume that works for any venue. I’m using only the RBI and the U250 1x15 for recording and I can get everything I need as far as tone and it’s easy for the engineer to mic the cab and mix the DI signal to get the perfect balance of clarity and grit if need be.
There was a pretty useable Ampeg-like front end sound in there that sounded quite Sansampy and useful, among a bunch of sounds that eithere weren't much good, or weren't explored properly. Overall an interesting entry to the market especially if the powered cabs are priced correctly.
Looks a half decent bass amp, especially in the 250 and 500 version. Wish had noticed this when I bought my Ashdown amp. Been saying for a while that there should be more bands with two bass players 😂👍

End jam kills opening jam. Duelling Basses....Epic
Anything would kill opening jam. Come on, AC/DC...
absolutely, almost closed out the video on the intro. I love AC/DC but I came here for bass amps
Always the best intros guys. A joy to watch.
Lee...your outstanding fingerstyle playing is unbeatable...thanx for the earorgasm!
You guys played “Back in Black” superbly! Very exciting stuff.
I just bought the U30 for home use and for practice. Amazing little thing that packs a lot of power
Tested it... Droooool.... this video was the nail in the coffin, got to go get one now! Thanks Andertons!
I have just ordered the unity 500 from you guy, can't wait to try it out. and it's only £499, cheaper than the unity 250 😂😂 not sure why that is.
Totally diggin' the Motorhead jam at the end.
this is an awesome combo saving money up for the 500
Booze and women I can live without but it it'd be nice to find a drummer that could just play a straight 4 every now and then!
Less is always more.
FHI there is an FX control knob on the back of the unit! :)
Love the vids and jams but DI combos? Shouldn't combo demos always be mic'd?
Hi ... Is the DI-out a PRE MIX our a LINE-OUT POST MIX (can we switch it or choose) ? Thx

cracking closing guys
Overwhelmed with "meh." It would be nice to hear a room mic in some of these though.
I like the tone of mine but it doesn't hold up to hard playing drummers. It's going back this weekend. Wanted to like it
Can u guys do a video comparing the Black star U500 vs the new Boss Katana Bass Amp 2x10 version?

I have the 500 watt and it's just too quiet to jam with my drummer. It sounds amazing though. Sadly it will go back this weekend.
Top gear of the music world.
Epic jam!
Should I choose this or the fender rumble 40?
these amps come with the fs-13 footswitch.
To unlock the features of these amps fully though you want to get the fs-12.
I have the U500- killer combo.
very versatile amp! lots of great useable tones...lmao at the walkman bit!
So what would you get the black star or the Fender rumble or the ampeg 2/10 500w
Where can i find the bass you were playing throughout?
Been eyeing the U250 or the ampeg rb-210.
Having a hard time deciding.
u250 looks more modern

I had the ba 210 and it would cut off on me during gigs. Hope the Blackstar treated you better.
Dude my 500 watt is so quiet for metal. Can't play it with a drummer.
Do some Gibson sg bass
Nothing quite like a Rickenbacker
Oh yes, love Ricky's!
Mishak Heyman rickies, either love em or hate em
This or a Fender Rumble? comparison video?
I have a Fender Rumble 500 that's awesome. Can't say anything about Blackstar, don't know them.

Is it better than fender tumble?
Plastic still on the tuning pegs. Just like nanny's sofa. That's why it just feels right.
Will you sell Strandberg guitars one day? And have an amazing review?
Unity 60 or Orange Crush 50?
what kind of drumcomputer is used in this demo?
When are you guys gonna do a bass wah video.
Listening to some Face of Bass...
Hey!!! I have that bass!!!!
There was a pretty useable Ampeg-like front end sound in there that sounded quite Sansampy and useful, among a bunch of sounds that eithere weren't much good, or weren't explored properly. Overall an interesting entry to the market especially if the powered cabs are priced correctly.
All about that bass *plays a guitar*

Coolllllllcococooooooool
When you don't know the bassline for this song......
hi
If this is about the Bass why can I only hear guitar so loud in the mix?
Neil Aspinall what kind of crappy speakers or headphones are you listening to?
Neil Aspinall i doubt that
if you can't hear the bass i think you should throw out your 'studio monitors'

how arrogant. I can hear the base VERY fine. If you can't hear you should really check your setup.
The real 1st
Not exactly the rundown of features I was hoping for.
