- I had a little bit of a struggle editing this one but I overcame it after having an hour long stare off with it. This movie is so complex and has so many things going on that it's hard to create an edit with a clear narrative. But somehow this ended up being about recurring dreams and recurring people. Sometimes, people can haunt you, to the point where you feel their presence everywhere. No matter if they are right around the corner or continents away, there's always a slight connection to certain individuals... dead or alive😵

This was considered one of Hitchcock's crown jewels, and for good reason. Obsession intertwined with deceit, insecurity, and intrigue, all with personal undertones. You really lulled us into a false sense of security until the last quarter of this edit, when all hell broke loose, I love it. The red filter, jolting dreams, slowed dialogue, spinning room, combined with the allure of a fallen soul. It is said that only the most tormented can create works that speak through the years, and I believe this to be the case for this film. The real challenge is getting those who haven't experienced that level of tribulation to understand and moreover, appreciate it to the fullest extent possible.

I watched this one with my mom because she's a giant Hitchcock fan. I had to do serious thinking after I saw it for the first time. The plot was so twisty but also genius. I also absolutely LOVE the dream sequence. The soundtrack is one of my favourites too🌀🤘
