overwatering causes root rot alot. you could wash off all the soil on the roots and make a peroxide and water bath and let the roots soak for a few should help get rid of the root issue.

B1 is a plant food/stress relief/root Stimulator so you could try that cause it usually helps baby plants and slightly sick plants

You can also give your plants fish oil mix, you diluted it with water and the will grow like hulk the love it your plants.
At my work we sand to 800 but we also paint for Harley and Indian and only use ppg paint so i feel like it’s all just what brand paint and application that is used for a proper bond but i was the same way before i got here i thought the higher grit wouldn’t last but it does

Paint job looks nice but you definitely need a better CLEAR COAT the one you be using isn’t shiny enough. Like it’s dual looking and the shrinkage on that clear is horrible. But you should try a better clear and I bet your paint job would look 10x better 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
