I used to live in this area and am actually getting ready to move back. I just wanted to say that the aquarium is actually lovely. I remember absolutly adoring it everytime I've gone and I went very often 😂
I live in E. Tennessee and this trip is about a 90-minute drive from my house. I try to get down with my family a few times a year. In fact, will be going down in about a month. Spring time in the mountains...... YES! I stay in the same motel every time. It's right smack in the middle of town, and we walk everywhere. Especially nice if you plan a moonshine tasting, no driving, lol. First time I visited one of the moonshine stores, left with a big buzz. My daughter and I had a nice long sit afterward, and laughed ourselves silly. So much fun. Gatlinburg is just a fun place to visit, and so close to the national park for a big dose of Mother Nature in all her glory. If you've never been it's worth the trip.
All that wine and Moonshine tasting and traffic sure aren’t a good combination. Thanks for the ride on The Parkway, it’s alway beautiful in Gatlinburg.
You say you "Just came out of the national park" at the beginning of the video, yet you are at the other end of town on the road heading TOWARD the national park...a bit confusing. Still, lots of fun.
My husband and I just recently were married in Gatlinburg. It was absolutely perfect and everything we could have asked for. I've been traveling to Gatlinburg since I was a child it's only about a 3 hour drive for us (Southwest VA) so it's a perfect long weekend vacation. Watching this just gave me such great memories! My husband and I absolutely love the little dive bar beside the Space Needle it's called Shamrocks. Thanks for the wonderful memories!
were in the process of looking for land near Gatlinburg pigeon forge area. we've lived in Indiana for years but the mountains are calling our names too!!!
I love Gatlinburg, such a awesome little resort town. The white water rafting is very fun! Lots of great memories there. ;-) Thinking about making a return visit sometime later this Summer 2018. I think it may actually be about 10 years since my last visit there!
Good place for parking is on the river road for free, or at the Methodist Church and walk across street into The Village from the rear and come out on the Parkway. Very good breakfast or lunch restaurant with fair prices is red light 3 on 321 about half a mile on left called "Little House of Pancakes", and for a steak, the Alamo is by the 1st Baptist Church, or The Peddler. Also, the Clock Peddler has beautiful clocks, free water, and a bathroom!! (sshhh... don't tell anyone) Of course The Pancake Pantry is a must visit, plus they sell a great picnic lunch to take on your trip to Cade's Cove. 3 Jimmy's is good, and the Cherokee Grill has tasty food. Yes Loco Burro is very good with view or whole Parkway.
I've never been there, but I'm thinking of taking a road trip this summer and this seems like an awesome town to hit up. I love cheesy tourist stuff like this.
Great video! I was looking for the location of the convention center. I'm doing a craft show there and wanted to see where it was in town and the potential for traffic in July. Thanks.
Nice video. Was just there September 15th and 16th. We parked our car near the end of the strip, which would be at about the 14 minute mark of the video. There's a restaurant in that little shopping center called Dick's Last Resort, they have IPA beers. Parking was only $5, so it was a good deal. The price goes up as you go farther down the strip where the video starts. We walked with our lab, went into the Villages, crossed to the north side, and had a funnel cake which is next to the Guinness World Records building on the north side. I also don't understand how the specialty shops can stay in business. Food and drink? Yes. The rent to do business must be sky high with all the foot traffic.
I went back and watched your drinking tour video. Despite the fact that some places no longer offer free samples, it's still a great tour. What I'm now interested in is IPA local craft beers. I look them up on the Beer Advocate site. Yee Haw brewing is on there, but has no scores. You had a Double IPA which is 8.5%. Sweet Water IPA has a score of 82 and is good. I'll look for that at my grocery store. The thing is to check the wiki of each brewery to make sure they have not been taken over by In-Bev. www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/273/751/ In the last few days, I updated my coaster attendance page adding my top beers, scroll to the bottom of this page. www.nogodforme.com/USA_Park_Coaster_Attendance_Results.htm Every time I visit a city, I'm going to seek out the best local craft beers (IPA). I have always been visiting the best food places from Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, along with the best reviews on Yelp, but now I'm going to track the best IPA beers. If you like a different style of beer, then you could track that. So when you're sitting at the bar drinking, take out your phone, type in the brewery, beer, ABV and then make a list. Also, when you take a shot of the menu or the beer taps, hold that shot for 5 seconds. Also, you do realize that since Cedar Point is adding RMC Streak, that means another beer from the Brew Kettle named after that coaster. That area of CP is going to be huge for their Brew and BBQ event ping ponging from Maverick to RMC Streak (yes, I know the name will be different).
In the Loop I laughed so hard when I heard you call Ober Gatlinburg, UBER Gatlinburg. lol I was born and raised here. I'm 33yrs old and this is the first time I've ever heard someone from out of town pronounce Ober wrong. lol Makes me question how you pronounce Sevierville...lol. Great tour of our town but you missed a few hole in the wall places that are amazing. :)

Oh was wondering what motel you stayed at? I'm always looking for motels that are convenient on the parkway. Nice to be able to just leave your car parked and walk to where you want to go. Thanks.
We had visited there on our honeymoon in 1969 in October and it was wide open, no reservations required. Sometimes we would have an entire motel to ourself. Then we visited in 1982 and it was still doable. My grandson wanted to go to the Smokey Mountain Knife Works in Severville. We planned our trip for 8-10 December '17, after football season, lol!!!. We stayed in Gatlinburg, that was a mistake. No place to park but $10. parking lots. That is a ripoff. Even fast food is expensive!! And the traffic is just overwhelming!!! If you walk down the street it is packed!!! If I had it to do over, I would just skip Gatlinburg and stay out in the Pijun Forge/Sevy'ville area. I won't have to worry about any of it anymore, because I simply won't return. The traffic, the parking, people packed everywhere, the pricey food, you can have it. When is there an off season??? It would seem that if there is one, it might be early December, not so. I presently reside about 10 miles from Destin, Fl. We don't get near the place June-Sept. The blasted tourists have ruined it for the locals!!! The only reason we would go over there would be to eat, but we stay away during the summer. At least we get a break a few months of the year. I don't think there is EVER a break in Gatlinburg!!!
I always go the week before Thanksgiving. No big crowds, everything is open, some color still up in the mountains and usually pleasant weather. The whole town is decorated for Christmas but be sure to run over to Pigeon Forge after dark. They REALLY go all out on Christmas decorations. Beautiful. I understand that from Thanksgiving until New Year it gets really crowded. I went down in Janurary once. We were the only guests in the motel. A lot of the shops were either closed or on very reduced hours.
Usually, the middle of August isn't too busy because most people are back in school. It picks back up the first of September. October is defiantly our busiest time.
Shane Brown, they are in the same county, Sevier County. After dollywood, you go on East Parkway. Takes you straight to Gatlinburg. Or if you are straight coming from somewhere else. I highly recommend going through Newport. Take TN 32/US 321 South bound a lot and I mean a lot less traffic.
I’ve stayed in a few, I like the microtel in Gatlinburg, you can walk to the bars and attractions on the strip. Small, clean, cheap. There are a lot of cabin rentals in the area that are great too
Before we stayed in on light 8 historic nature trail the Hampton inn by Hilton and it was amazing, goregous but it is overly price. 200 dollars a night and when we staying with government discount was 91 dollars and original price was 116
I prefer staying at campgrounds. More fun. Dont have to worry about parking. Its super cheap and some even have tree houses u can stay in. That have power lol
Thanks. Here is a good tip about the sword shops: Take your time inside and don't grab the item that's on display. The best quality of the items will be in back.
In the Loop I'm in the army so whenever I have PT in the morning I have glorious blast lol but gotta say gatlinburg is probably my favorite place of all time for vacation no matter time of year
I used to live in this area and am actually getting ready to move back. I just wanted to say that the aquarium is actually lovely. I remember absolutly adoring it everytime I've gone and I went very often 😂

Better than Orlando ?
I know that Gatlinburg is a tourist trap but I just love it! ❤️
I was there last August. We stayed across the street from the mountain coaster. Gatlinburg is my favorite place on earth.
All that wine and Moonshine tasting and traffic sure aren’t a good combination. Thanks for the ride on The Parkway, it’s alway beautiful in Gatlinburg.

I live in Michigan, but I was just down in Gatlinburg last week and I loved it. I would totally love to come back down here again.
You say you "Just came out of the national park" at the beginning of the video, yet you are at the other end of town on the road heading TOWARD the national park...a bit confusing. Still, lots of fun.

I ate at Johnny rockets 2 years ago with my dad and the burgers were delicious 😋
I've never been there, but I'm thinking of taking a road trip this summer and this seems like an awesome town to hit up. I love cheesy tourist stuff like this.

G-Burg is alive and well. COME VISIT US!!!!!!!
I am.
Does Gatlinburg get that crowded in october??? When did you shoot this footage? Some holiday weekend?
Gatlinburg is pretty much crowded year round now, especially on weekends.
if you don't want it to be packed go in May
It's packed then too.
Go in March
We go in February and it’s not packed, outside of Valentine’s Day. And all kind of bogo deals on food and lodging.
@@Mr-Mercy We went this past late February to early March and I'd say it was almost as packed as in this video.
This place has changed since I've been there
I'm going there in October
I love Airsoft and it is good to know there is a cool store there!

They sometimes have it in the village
What was the name of your hotel???? I wanna stay where you did.
cool area, is this near dollywood?
Yup. About 7 minute drive from dollywood
thanks

We are going to the smokies very soon and trying to book the right hotel. What hotel did you guys stay in?
I’ve stayed in a few, I like the microtel in Gatlinburg, you can walk to the bars and attractions on the strip. Small, clean, cheap. There are a lot of cabin rentals in the area that are great too

There are plenty of parking garages and parking lots near the strip
was the Hard Rock Cafe still there
It moved from Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge about 10 years ago or longer. It is now located in the former Alabama Grill by the Titanic Museum.
I take it this was before the fire?
I think so
UUUUHHHH!!!!!!! Fannie Farkle's is the BEST arcade! Spaceneedle is the BIGGEST arcade! Get yo' facts straight! LoL
I came here thinking this was after the fire. But it sucks to see all of the buildings that went.
I would never drive in Ball Holler that fast
I'm there right now. Staying in Square Oaks Hotel. (their wifi is crap)
I prefer staying at campgrounds. More fun. Dont have to worry about parking. Its super cheap and some even have tree houses u can stay in. That have power lol
I be going to Gatlinburg in 4 month 22 days 12 hour 14 min July 1 to July 7 2018
Any laser tag places?
I believe Fort Fun has laser tag
Thanks. Here is a good tip about the sword shops: Take your time inside and don't grab the item that's on display. The best quality of the items will be in back.
the best place to stay has got to be Summit Manor. it's a condo resort place. feels just like home. I love it there. 😍😍😍😍

Looks like a wannabe branson
Branson is the wannabe Gatlinburg.. LOL
