I think people hate Leffen winning because he's got a reputation as an asshole in the community, especially from years ago in the Melee community. He also plays the most hated character in Strive right now. Put those two things together and you get a lot of hate when he wins.
Entire communities hate him for his mouth and that it's mostly 99% not a joke. It's like the opposite of FChamp. Plus he hopped on Tekken, got trolled by most of the players, Then said the whole game sucked because he was awful at it. He just has a horrible personality.
