Owen going straight to Gwen and trying to look after her and comfort her was so sweet, no matter what people say Owen is a good person at heart
hes the medic. hes supposed to do that. it would have been "good of heart" if say tosh went to her, or ianto, or jack. owens job is to be the medic to the team, so if he had ran past a member of the team that would in fact go against what he is meant to be.
@@lordlossize A medic doesn't keep screaming, doesn't keep holding them in their arms, doesn't touch her the way he does..
They were lovers once, that's why.
@@sarasorensen2650 this scene was before they were lovers... But because of scenes like this their affair was inevitable
Owen Harper could have been the most caring doctor if he hadnt lost everything. He would have been the sort of doctor I would want to treat me. But like all of Torchwood his trauma changed him and forced him to have a tough outer shell
I like how Suzie is one of the most sympathetic villains in the series. She's not doing it for some god or some alien. She just really doesn't want to die.
Bonnie1020Production ikr. I really miss her
Bonnie1020Production I miss torchwood
sympathetic? she killed several people in everything changes just to get the glove to work permantely for no damn reason and now she arranged the deaths of several people including Gwen so she could live? she's not sympathetic, she's a selfish sadistic coward
I hate how people try to make horrible people sympathetic
Zachary Cooke the motivation is sympathetic the actions are not... if you can’t agree with that then I guess you just want to die. Cause she is an exercise on the question of “what would you do to stay alive” she went further than anyone cause she had the means to. Would you kill someone to save yourself, how about 3, how about 6. Only in self defense? If you were going to die but flicking a switch killed someone else but saved you... would you flick it. I’m not saying there’s any right answer cause the taking of life is abhorrent across the board be it in self defense or not... but we’re only human, we prioritize ourselves and we wanna live. So yeah she’s a sympathetic villain, with very human motivations. She’s not a godlike Minotaur from across the rift here to suck life, or the avatar of death, or even a weevil bent on mindless violence, she’s just a very scared human that doesn’t want to die and did inhuman things to get there
2:14- funny thing about Immortal monsters...you can make them feel as much pain as they deserve.
I love how protective Owen is of Gwen in this scene. Under normal circumstances, Owen probably would have joined Jack in shooting Suzie, but instead he stays with Gwen while her life is hanging in the balance.
well he is the bloody medic of the team.
lordlossize GG He sure is.
Andrew Chapman He was probably already sleeping with her at this point!!
hes a doctor they are trained to save lives even in the worse situations
You do realize that it was only the tenth doctor who had an issue with killing, right?
The classic Doctors had no problem committing murder. Especially the third and sixth.
RoyalGuard503 well he was the doctor after the war so that could of changed his view point, like 9 didn’t like death as well
RoyalGuard503 well... every doctor after the time war has placed a far greater emphasis on no killing not just 10. But also let’s not forget how seven literally talked multiple people into suicide
That's PTSD for you
@@captainkiwi77
lol, that why in one of his speech he said worse I got clever and got me to take their own lives. That speech came from David Tenant incarnation of the doctor.
Walter white that speech was a direct reference to the 7th doctor actually I’m pretty sure like it was solely talking about him and no other doctor
Those are the most realistic gunshot wounds I've ever seen
Geometry Dash Cryst4l Torchwood is pretty good at that tbf
Not just seen, but heard as well.
Bullets make a god awful mess. Nothing clean about a gunshot injury.
Gwen gets shot at point blank range by a shotgun and is left with a couple of pinpricks
@@bobdagamer640 They still had a rating, they can't show it all XD
I love how Jack literally jumps over Gwen.
i’ve ALWAYS wanted that SUV. eventually my goal is to recreate one as close to that as possible, and one that’s legal to be on the road🤣
the blue lights going up the sides of the windshield would be boss
Well it's a range rover sport you need to start with
I made a loom band version.
I ain't a driver so this is a stupid question but are SUV's illegal? I thought they were just expensive.
@@Brogan_Balfour_Crescent suv's are highly illegal and can land you 20 years in prison for driving one
This is just a perfect scene I thought this was all so badass when I first saw this episode the dialogue the themes and the music just made this perfect this was the best episode of the first series
Foreshadowing miracle day
this is so quintessentially Torchwood.
one great difference between this show and doctor who is that jack isn't the doctor, he will kill if he has to, and he does it in an awesome way every time ;)
Excuse me! The Doctor said it himself that he has taken lifes, he can too also kill someone if he has to. The difference between them is that Jack is way more open about possibility of killing, while Doctor is hiding it.
I was about to respond with a thought out response about the time war changed him and he was trying to fight his wrong...
...then I realised who I was replying too.
Is the actress who played Susie the woman who was married to Oberyn Martell? She looks familiar...
Yes, played by the actress Indira Varma
Ellaria
Ah, that's why she's so cute.
THAT'S ELARIA SAND? Paramour, btw
@@mountainsnotwaves7874
I watch that film a few years. Let say there was a lot happening and it involved several tissues.
At 1:49 love how kick ass jack is at that speech Suzie does 😄
Literally every character in this show dies and comes back
Doesn't encourage much sense of jeopardy, does it?
Oh, he's going to get shot. Doesn't matter though, he'll come back to life next week.
And then "Children Of Earth" comes along and everything gets fuuuuuucked.
@@Kajenko yeah I was thinking about that episode, closest jack has ever gotten to dying.
@@onyxowl70 are we forgetting about him being poisoned in Miricle Day?
@@sonnykingcomposer Miracle day's not cannon kappa
@Samuel24842 i think when the doctor has to kill it is a lot more tragic, because he know what HAS to happen and what must not. He sees everything, every death, he can see what is coming and when he does kill he knows he couldn't do anything to save them, for example pompeii (season 4)
gloves come in pairs.
Duh!
you know what would have been a good series? miracle day, but not with that stupid blessing which is earths vagina, but with the glove mixed with jacks blood, or maybe a severed hand he once had lost stuffed inside the glove and fed power through something like that thing in tennants last christmas episode. that would have been great, because it would have been like this.
Yeah, that thing from End of Time would've been great for MD.
Why does everyone give Miracle Day so much hate, I thought it was fantastic.
PD some parts were, but you have to admit something like that would not go unnoticed in the main canon AND by the doctor himself
***** exactly
***** The Tennant specials take place during CoE and since it lasted only 5 days, it fits more than MD which takes place for more than a month and conflits with the doctor's interactions on earth. I wish the BBC found a way to fix this MD mess ( while keeping it canon ) instead of ignoring it.
Suzie and Tosh were the best
I love this scene. I think it might be the song at the end... part of it's in Moulin Rouge isn't it? But its so beautiful and sad, ironic considering whats just happened.
I love Owen and Gwen together
owen is so sweet...love him. jack being...well jack. awesome!
I do wonder how Jack was going to explain his gratuitous violence to the cops.
He's above the Police.
at the beginning after susie hangs up the phone jack askes owen : how long have we got? and he answers : minutes ITS ALL VERRY DARK
and aparently just a few minutes later (cause gwen is still alive) it's ligt :)
it's just early in the morning, maybe in spring, early summer, considering they're all wearing thick coats and stuff, but still.
"How much more of this do you want?!" I bet that's what all Jack's enemies think every time they try to kill him!
It always seems to be Gwen's life in danger...♥
Have literally minutes before Gwen dies and it somehow goes from pitch black night sky to full daylight blue skies in those few minutes?
i think it's maybe summer, it gets light faster - this episode basically took place during half a day and over a night, i'm pretty sure, so i'd imagine it's just early in the morning.
When Jack thinks he's killed her and she wakes up I sort of say "Hello it's me again :) I'm still alive!" And then I give a little wave :)
alright, never mind, I know now: it's Gorecki by Lamb. Great scene with music.
I think she was trying to scare Jack, don't know how though as he's been dead much more than she has! But then Owen said it was just darkness too when he came back. Bleak eh!
Owen is so caring i love him so much xxxxx
everytime i hear this song i cry
I know. So beautiful... even if she is evil
miss classic torchwood soo much :(
this reminds me of the scene in kuuga when ichijou shoots and kills the rose tattoo woman at the harbor.
same i hope they bring it back one day
i love how Jack saves Gwen.
God, I miss this show
Gorecki, by Lamb. :) It's a great song.
@ArgoDrac
I meant more as in the grand scheme of things. Not the monster of the week, but the bigger picture.
amagine river in torchwood imagine the flirtin owen would beat up jack over her and eventually everyone turns on eachother not good idea
You sure Owen could beat up jack? 😂
no, i think they are leading up to a climactic final season (season 4/5) and they are going to have to face something everyone fears
I love this scene so much i dont know why but i think gwen and owen suit :):):)
*Last Song name : Gorecki - Lamb*
Lol, Jack works out the Glove is responsible and still shoots Suzie another time 😂😂😂😂
What season and episode
what is the song called? at the end where the opening line is "if i should die this very moment (bla bla bla)" whats it called?
Sorry its like ten years later from your comment but it is called Gorecki
Bruh getting an answer for a question after 10 yes what a long wait
Gorecki- Lamb
Do you know the name of it? I really really like it, and I might purchase it on iTunes store... Pretty please?
I'm surprised how gory this is coming from doctor wh
this is torchwood, not doctor who. yes, it's in the same universe but it's meant to be darker and more mature than doctor who.
Torchwood gets darker as u go on. Like really dark.
The doctor doesn't even make an appearing In this show since the doctor is pg
@@minglin2814 Martha made a visit and the Dr. dropped her off. Jack went nutso when he heard the sound.
@@minglin2814 plus Dr. Who is plenty dark too just lighter than Torchwood.
Reminded me of Saints Row 2 with mister sunshine where to he took 5 bullets and didn't die till you chopped his head off
I understand Jack was protective of Gwen but man did he forget that Suzie was also on his team BEFORE Gwen? Then to treat her in such a way was a bit barbaric to me. Granted Suzie went rogue and went on a bit of a murder spree before this all came to pass but seriously Jack could have had a little more compassion towards Suzie.
No. She betrayed the team. Jack will ALWAYS do what needs to be done, no matter how hard the choice. He sacrificed his own grandson to save mankind from the 456. Suzie stood no chance.
The Ninth Doctor That maybe true but he was quite barbaric towards Suzie. Plus how did Suzie betray the team?? Gwen made a point by asking Jack if he really took the time to actually see how his members were fairing mentally. Suzie got obsessed with the glove and Jack failed to rein in her efforts in trying to discover the mystery of the glove. So Suzie went rogue. I blame Jack for Suzie's state of mind. He should have looked after her just as he does with Gwen.
Yes its his fault. He is the leader of the team and he recruited Suzie. Even Gwen pointed out to Jack that he can be vile and cold and asked him could he just kill Suzie without thinking about it and he said "Oh yes"! Remember, Gwen had to point out not only to Jack but the entire team that they had disconnected themselves from any humane traits towards their fellow man. She did it with Tosh as well when she fabricated the porters death when he was killed by the Weavel saying in a very nonchalant way...."it's my job". So yes it is Jacks fault for allowing his team to get too involved in Torchwood and not seeing to their "regular lives".
I agree with Scarpia. Jack has a responsibility to look after his team's wellbeing. It's one of the marks of being a leader. If that was the Police or Military, Jack as a leader would have to make sure that the mental welfare of his staff was intact. Otherwise he wouldn't be doing his job.
Granted. Torchwood isn't the police. And it certainly isn't the military. But he had an obligation as Team leader.
And need I remind you that Suzie (and other team members) was taking alien technology home without any consent? There should be safeguards in place. Not a general, "if you wouldn't take alien tech home, that'd be great."
Jack DOES look after his team's well-being. All the time. He is always on the lookout for possible problems, and has done everything from send them home early to rest up to removing them from conflicts of interest. But Torchwood isn't a regimented group. It's not like he could hand them an EAP number..
what episode is this :D
Oh, please. The Doctor never had a love for the Time Lords. Hell, at one point, the First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Doctors all collectively considered siding with Omega to wipe the Time Lords from existence, and had little care about it.
Classic Whovians have called bullshit on the Time War for ages now.
RoyalGuard503 The Time War doesn’t have anything to do with this scene.
Love the thumbnail
@BBC: Is it asked too much to reupload these Torchwood clips in not 144p? Pretty please?
whats the name of the song at 3:25?? if anyone knows, thanks
@bbc studios 144p?
I didn't know that song was Lamb- Gorecki. Isn't that the song on the tomb raider underworld trailer?
whats this episode called it looks good.
Illusive Prime they keep killing suzie
Geez, Ellaria Sand cannot catch a break.
Sounds bad - but she wanted to live forever and not die that's what jack had and the doctor so he saved her in a way by killing her because life isn't what we want sometimes death is better
Have you seen the whole episode?
lol at 1:38 it sounds like jack tells susie to let one go lol
Nope. He tells Suzie "Let Gwen go"
Oh no not again
Sorry but
Song at the end please? x:
I know you commented a long time ago but it was Gorecki by Lamb lol.
gwen and owen wud b so cute 2getr:)
Can somebody tell me the name of the song in the end?
Lamb - gorecki
Yes it is, I have it on my iPod. :o)
God I miss Torchwood.
Ditto.
Wat is the song at the end when Suzie dies and Gwen wakes up
Kelsey Graydon that's what I want to find out
Lamb - Gorecki
I found out what it was it is Lamb Gorecki

And she does AGAIN TWICE in Doctor Who 😂😂 one time as a human and the alien form of her later
anyone know the song from 0:07 onwards
I neeeeeeeeed it see this show
you get that wiith the bt vision box the on demand. i have it :) its awsome
what's the womans name who plays Suzie. She's awesome =)
3:16
Hehe
i forget, what all happened up?
I have seen her too! Its weird!
Good series! But too much blood..
that's your issue with torchwood? consdering in the second episode they had a sex alien that got loose, i'm surprised you haven't clocked on that torchwood is not a very happy, light show. it's labelled as "mature", not a family show like doctor who.
Games of Thrones actress?
Hello
I am still disapointed they never did anything with the "something moving in the dark"
They probably did,It could of been loads of things The Master in Utopia in Doctor who the end of the universe which was the darkness and Jacks torture when he got back to earth or Davros and The Reality Bomb in the end of series 4 "the stars are going out"
It Could have been foreshadowing abbadon or the return of the 456.
They did. It was abbadon moving in the dark beneath the rift
oh yes they did but not til the last story
lol watever
