This live version is bittersweet. My mom was sick with a flu and she was struggling with heart related diseases especially after her surgery to repair an aortic aneurism 5 years ago. I was going to stream Psalms on her tv via my phone but I found her deceased on her bed in the morning 6 months ago. She seems to have died peacefully and most likely in a prayerful position. I was her caregiver for 11 years, so it was especially difficult but this video helped to sustain me throughout my grief. I remember singing it at synagogue in the late 80s and early 90s. YHVH prepared this song many years ago to comfort and sustain me at that the right time it was necessary. I didn’t want to see it again because of the past that’s associated with it but I have to confront those feelings to overcome them. Sometimes it’s so difficult that I just want to leave this world and be with my Messiah but I know that if we want to be sanctified and perfected, we must suffer and go through trials and tribulations. My mother often said suffering cleans our souls and makes us more resilient.
