I love his recollection of his ndes and his sense of adventure. I have a good friend of mine that he reminds me of as he loves adventures and is very spiritual. He is the one that helped me become more open minded to ideas out of what society considers normal.

P.S. I have been a Christian my whole life and still consider myself a Christian, although my views on much have changed, and as Rev. Bill teaches, there is just so much more than we ever knew!

If you're securely attached to begin with but you persist with an avoidant who isn't truly working to heal and showing true progress, then by definition, you're likely not securely attached or healthy yourself, unless you're emotionally fine with having a "relationship" on their terms alone.
If that's not the case, then you've slid into anxious attachment
and you need to question why you're self-abandoning and ignoring of your own nervous system's signals.
Often, to get to the stage of being discarded, you've experienced their stonewalling and flaw finding, for instance, and you have in many cases participated in eliciting those behaviors through your own anxious behaviors.
Two to tango.
Why I'm saying all of this is that, for me to heal from my avoidant discarding me, I seriously had to implicate myself causally in the discard experience because I stayed long enough to get to that point. I had discarded my own boundaries to get to that point of being discarded. That's on me, not my ex. That doesn't excuse the discard but it does explain how it was possible in the first place.
I was myself unhealthy to get that far with someone unhealthy --
it was a choice just as much as it was their choice to discard --
because obviously I had preceding attachment wounds I brought to the table.
It's not a matter of the righteous and the wicked.
Their choice to discard me is heartbreaking
but so is my choice not to listen to my own nervous system
that was telling me for months to exit stage left.
My ex cherished (likely still does)
his narcissistic ex because of the familiarity of such abuse from childhood.
It's more complicated than
"they stay with them because they are less of a threat
than someone 'healthy' who truly loves them".

@@lindadeal3344 insomnia is one of the many many symptoms , I don’t sleep at all. And if I’m able to it’s only for an hour and my neuroendocrine dysfunction will not allow my body or brain to go into real sleep cycles. It’s horrific, I also can’t eat normally, digest, eliminate waste etc. It is not like normal sickness, all of the automatic functions aren’t working and I’m in extreme torment
I am so very sorry. I can’t imagine how horrible this must be. Have you considered a functional medicine doctor? They try to piece it all together. Most other doctors have a specialty and don’t grasp issues out of their field which leaves you trying to guess what kind of doctor to go to. I am really sorry for all of your suffering. Wishing you better health and Praying for you.
