The Pinto was a sales success it's entire run. There isn't an automaker around today or in the 1970's that wouldn't kill for the Pinto's sales numbers. It averaged 317,349 cars sold each year for 10 years. Not only was it the #1 sub-compact car in America, but its sales eclipsed those of all makes of all other imports combined. Only in 1981 did Chevy overtake Ford with the Chevette, and only for that year. Once again, in 1982, the Ford Escort regained the top spot in the market segment and would hold onto it until 1987. The fact that the gas tank was behind the axle (in front of the bumper) wasn't the issue. This was common for sub-compacts. It was the fact that having discovered that the tank could be ruptured by some bolts on the axle in a rear-end accident, and it would cost roughly $11 to mitigate the issue, Lee Iacocca personally made the call not to fix it before the car was introduced. Thus, Lee Iacocca put profits before personal safety. Also, there were between 70-117 deaths as a result of Pinto accidents. There were only 117 lawsuits against Ford (settled or otherwise), and 2 of them were by third parties indirectly impacted. Unless you think there are 383 families that didn't care enough about their dead family members to sue Ford for damages. 3:49 NO! That is not a fair thing to say. The Alfa Sud was mostly "dreaded" for its rust issues due to poor Russian recycling steel being used (Yes, the same issue that almost ruined the successful introduction of the MkI Golf. Only, they managed to withdraw an re-route these cars to the communist GDR. Funny, ain't it?!) BUT, engine and transmission in the Alfa Sud were praised (!) for their sporty and lively characteristics. No need to argue about the electrics of the time that appeared to "have been put together by a bunch of toddlers" [end quote by a fellow named J. Clarkson]
I see no pt cruiser mentioned in the video proving just how much more reliable and boss ass my silver bullet is. Sure it's not fast or quick accelerating but it is a tough one. Having slid off the road at 55 mph in icy conditions because I wasn't driving smart, it only suffered a busted radiator and a flat tire. If anything my Chrysler proved more than its worth to me that day.
I am amazed you did not talk about the Inacenti. i am sure i did not spell it right but i remember the back seat was a option. They were like a BIC lighter. First sign of trouble and it was cheaper to throw it away than fix it. I think it was from Italy. As a french Canadian we joked about it's name for many reasons with word play with that name. You can not even find them in bone yards. No one even bought used part to repair them. Even a used BIC lighter can be thrown into a fire for some kind of entertainment.

The Pontiac Aztek had to be a direct descendant of the Pontiac Stinger concept car of the 80s.
The Bronco II also is one, could’ve been a big success if it wasn’t for the high rollover rate.
I disagree. Between the Chevy/GMC S-10 Blazer/Jimmy and the Ford Bronco II, most would go with the S10 B/J. Ford was getting beat hands-down until it released the Explorer, and then it took the segment by storm.
Don't forget Chrysler Airflows. Cars forced to arise out of *one* styling item, e.g. '61-3 Imperial, free-stand headlamps; '62 Imperial, hanging taillights; K.T. Ridges are way too expensive
We had 2 Yugos😁👏🥰 and the clip with the NM plate on the Yugo is from Slovenia, our country.
And I've bought my 2nd Yugo in Slovenia 😉
The Aztek is one of the most important vehicles of (semi) recent memory
Yeah, it's actually pretty cool. I'd get one just so people can laugh their butts off, but once I show them the cool features and how comfortable it is, they'll stop laughing. Kinda reminds me of the saying about underrated girls.
Not hot, but has a great personality.
Great content always hyped everytime i get a notification about a new vid funniest car channel on UA-cam

NO!
Funny, ain't it?!)
BUT, engine and transmission in the Alfa Sud were praised (!) for their sporty and lively characteristics.
No need to argue about the electrics of the time that appeared to "have been put together by a bunch of toddlers" [end quote by a fellow named J. Clarkson]
great Top Gear reference, Geoff :) love it
Hey my name geoff
I see no pt cruiser mentioned in the video proving just how much more reliable and boss ass my silver bullet is. Sure it's not fast or quick accelerating but it is a tough one. Having slid off the road at 55 mph in icy conditions because I wasn't driving smart, it only suffered a busted radiator and a flat tire. If anything my Chrysler proved more than its worth to me that day.
Aztecs & Blackwoods are now both desired and collectable.
Aztek because of Breaking Bad. Blackwood because of rarity and oddity.
Completely normal :)
Man the Aztek features ages better than the design
I am amazed you did not talk about the Inacenti. i am sure i did not spell it right but i remember the back seat was a option. They were like a BIC lighter. First sign of trouble and it was cheaper to throw it away than fix it. I think it was from Italy. As a french Canadian we joked about it's name for many reasons with word play with that name. You can not even find them in bone yards. No one even bought used part to repair them. Even a used BIC lighter can be thrown into a fire for some kind of entertainment.
5:28 Jeremy Clarkson approves
The Ford Pinto is even used in Stephen King's novel Cujo as a bad car that causes a lot of problems for the protagonists.
''the ridge wallet is like the tesla of wallets: so its overrated and crap
Teslas aren’t overrated. The only reason people that say they are is because they can’t afford them
1. Delorean
2. I don’t know
3. Nissan Murano
Me hoping in 10 years this list will be remade with every car I don't like atm: ._.)
Not liking a car doesn't mean it's a failure 😉
@@TopCarsTV because there are enough tasteless people to buy them :P
@@DefinitelyNotEmma or it might just be that your taste is crap 😉
@@malhartembey ah yes, cars like the DB11, F80 M3, Phantom VIII, C63s, CTS-V are crap.
@@DefinitelyNotEmma no not really u just don’t have taste get the duck outta here

3) Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet
I really don't think Pontiac Aztek isn't that bad, I think it looks cool since it appeared in The Breaking Bad!
my auto engineer neighbor loved his Pontiac Aztek. He even bought a second one after the first one was hit by a drunk driver.
Hahaahah the Lincoln Blackwood was a failure.Have seen Doug Demuro’s vid. They tried to do a luxury truck.Such a weird car, but it wasn’t that luxury at all and it had that dumb navigation system.
Like he said in his video, Lincoln had an epiphany. And back in the day when an American automaker had an epiphany...
Cue the monkey noises
"The idea of having a luxury truck is as stupid as having an ice cream made of mustard."
RAM: Hold my beer
Don't confuse well equipped trucks with a luxury one. RAM can still do the job 😉
@@TopCarsTV lol
I wished, your videos were longer, they're nice a.f.
Perfect length 😩👌 that's whatat she said
The editing alone in this video would be a "10". Then add GREAT research of the list of bad cars, and you have a BRILLIANTLY entertaining video! HIGH PRAISE for this captivating, interesting, and entertaining video :-) Well done!
7:38 Bruckell LeGran. (Only beamng players know)
the aztek doesn't look too bad, lets talk about a toyota echo or an old dodge caravan
Another suv: Aztec is ugly.

You finally made a video about the Arna!
E sei subito alfista.

Great editing. And well thought out. Thanks for the video.
"MAYBACH" is pronounced "MY-BACH", with a hard guttural sound on the CH
I’m so happy that the Fiero didn’t make the list. The only reason it failed is because GM didn’t want to spend the money to build the 88 in 84. It would have been great with further refinements is future years.
