Still loving my Rapidmoves, happy to see they made the list, as well as the honorable mention on the PR7's. They're my 2 favorite HIIT/class shoes right now. Looking forward to your future review of the While On Earth line. Maybe Fraser will send you a pair in advance? 😉 TF2 could become their flagship storefront. 😊 Keep up the great work, my friend.
@@thatfitfriend Great review. What are your number 1 and number 2 HIIT shoes? i guess running would be 20percent treadmill, and the rest box jump, kettlebell swings, jump road etc.
Always love your videos, man! So I have a Nike gift card and I'm looking to buy a new pair of gym shoes for non-leg days-mostly just for upper body strength training, not much cardio outside of occasional treadmill use for a warm-up. Would you recommend the Free Metcons for that? Thanks so much, Jake!
Hi Jake. Some great 'best of' reviews lately. Any advice on my requirement ? Generally moved to more minimalist footwear but worn in rotation. For the gym I do a mix of hiit (skip, box jump, sled pull etc) and resistance (deadlifts, weighted squats etc). I wear vapour gloves but find I probably need a bit more cushion (altra for running works). So ideally anatomical shape, zero or low drop but enough cushion for the jumps. Altra solstice looked good but they don't last! Any thoughts?
Topo Athleic ST-1 may be worth exploring! Feels - Have you tried the Solstice XT 2? That's where my mind went, but if you've had them and they were no good then I get that hesitance. You could also potentially try the Lems Primal models. Not uber gym-focused, but anatomical and wide with a bit of cushion!
Hey man! How’s it going? I watched one of your videos to choose a pair of shoes to do HIIT, Strength and BodyPump when I was really heavy weight wise. My height is 1.65cm but I was 84kg and super unfit at the very beginning of 2023. I am now 62-63kg and very toned!! Thank you so much! These days I do 11 to 12 group fitness classes 5 to 6 days a day and walk 10-12km a day :) Would either shoe you recommend in the video be good to do HIIT, Strength (HIIT with weights and slower) and esp Bodypump? Even Spin? I have wide feet if it helps. Born Primitive Savage 1 could be good if all good for the 12km daily walk. Cheers from Sydney, Australia!
Let's go! Good on you, friend. Born Prim can work, but will have a denser feeling! Altra Solstice XT 3 could be a good option if you don't mind a zero-drop shoe! CloudPulse may also work depending on midfoot width.
I’m looking for a shoe for lateral work and jumps, got my eyes on UA Reign 5 for medium-heavy lifting and metcon but I’m guessing adidas rapidmove and the reebok models in the video would be better for jumps and lateral work? Thanks in advance for the answers. Great review like always
The Reign 5 will work fine for that if you want a single shoe, imo. They'll feel a little denser, but not so much to where I'd splurge on two shoes if you're just wanting to buy one!
I already have the free Metcon 5s but planning to get another one for rotation. and I want to get something that’s another all rounder shoe but flatter. should the nanoflex tr 2 be good enough?

Dear Jack! What’s your recommendation for someone with plantar fasciitis. Lately have been suffering a lot from heel pain. I’ve Eid and flat feet. Currently wearing - xero shoes HFS, inov8 F lite g 300, f fly 275, strk mvmnt vimana hybrid ( as you can see all inspired by your channel).
When are you getting the heel pain? I feel like that's not isolated to the shoes and there's something else going on. What movements do you notice it the most? What part of the heel? Would love to learn more context before randomly shouting out more models for ya!
Hey Jake, I had a question regarding metcon 9s. Would you say they’re okay to wear to and from the gym? Or would it be better to pack them in a bag and get changed into them in the gym? (I’m asking to check if they’d get ruined if worn on the way to the gym and if they’re comfortable enough for short 15-30 minute walks)
Dear Jake, I’ve been using some normal running shoes from kalenji by decathlon. I know I have to choose something more suitable for Hiit and fitness classes. Does Nike gore tex series get me the support for a wide toe curved feet? And does non marking shoes like the badminton shoes also help? I ask that because at the game it provides crazy level grip and balance.
Shoes built for pickle/tennis/badminton can be crazy good for training! Gore Tex series can be hit or miss depending on the model/your specific foot width
I do a lot of cardio classes, HIIT workout, and also have a goal to reach 10k steps on treadmill everyday. I don't do weightlifting and might not do that anytime soon. Which shoe would you recommend for me? Thank you so much I have been watching your videos and can't decide 😭
If you want a trainer, On CloudPulse or PUMA Nitro Squared. They're give you a pretty plush and responsive ride for those asks. I'd do with the model with the best price point and then gather data from your testing!
