    Sorry guys, still learning to make better reviews, but at 00:09, I meant to say the a12z chip, not a15!😅

    Just in case it's helpful.
    I'm looking for a 12.9 iPad.
    I'm a musician and that's all I hear. Grab one. Grab one.
    You can download sheet music, etc. and it's easier to see than traditional.
    Also doesn't blow around.
    And... love this.... you can buy a pedal that turns pages back and forth.

    Awesome review! I was looking to replace my old iPad with one that has a large display but didn't want to spend the MacBook price on one. Unfortunately, the M1 still costs a lot more than its predecessor. Perhaps I'll be waiting until the next gen comes out to snag this 4th gen.

      Thanks! Yeah, the testing of patience waiting for the next update is real, but it's always worth it if you know you want to wait for the price drops. Merry Christmas!

    Ultimate media friendly tablet with a good price imo

      Good price is subjective, but powerful and friendly for sure!

    That was probably the best and most honest review on an iPad Pro

    I had my iPad Pro for three years now and I believe his review is off I use my iPad Pro as a full laptop replacement abuse for everything and it has performed great slowdowns no issues everything I thrown at it it worked and I use it every day most of the day for my work so some of the things that he’s talking about I have not and I use mine every day still using it as we speak. I have not seen the need to upgrade because still getting updates. Still just fast beautiful display so I think that this would be a great buyfor anyone looking for a iPad at this deal or at this time because of the price it is that the others can do that especially with the Apple Pencil too so I disagree with a lot of stuff he said about the case of the iPad Pro 2020

    I got the 11 inch version 256gb for £539 recently, did I make a good choice because I needed a computer and the M1 was too much and for not enough storage.

      The iPad's will never replace a computer unfortunately, but I think the 11" is great for everyday carry, watching some entertainment on the go, and some casual note taking. But nothing will replace the computer yet!

    Do you recommend it if I'm planning to use it exclusively for Procreate? I can't afford a new one & I need something easy to move.

    • @gcaleblee
      @gcaleblee  7 місяців тому

      Hey there, I haven't used procreate on the gen 4, nor have I used anything comprable like adobe illustrator/photoshop. My 2 cents would be to avoid this if it's work related, as I do find even the native notes app crashing on me when I use the apple pencil too much. Hope this helps!

    Hey man great video, just the one I was looking for.
    I own a M1 Air for note taking and productivity. A lot of the times I get frustrated with the 10.9” screen…i feel as if there isn’t enough space.
    Now I’m looking into getting an iPad Pro 12.9” for more screen space. Deciding between the M1/2 model but I came across the 4th gen one and thought this would be a good alternative.
    Would you recommend the 4th gen pro for note taking? I own an M1 macbook and do all my video editing on that machine already. Would it really be necessary to purchase another M1 ipad…?

      @gcaleblee  9 місяців тому

      Hey James, thanks for the comment. If you're absolutely set on getting the 12.9" and your grades or work is dependent on the ipad pro (i.e. math equations, complex languages, diagrams, etc.), I'd say go for the M1 ipad pro, just because when I write a lot of notes on my gen 4, it does tend to freeze here and there and crash once in a while (everything is saved automatically but still stressful). I'd only suggest the gen 4 for those who are getting it for entertainment (games, videos, etc.). If you can wait a few months for the new iPad Pros to come out in the Spring, you can benefit from more price drops. Best of luck!

      @@gcaleblee thanks a lot man! I decided to go with the M1 12.9. I found it on second hand market for a good price that also comes with the Magic Keyboard. I don't think I'll make use of an M3 chip, that would be overkill considering I do my heavier tasks on desktop or laptop. Thanks again! I look forward to more content from you :)

    Im looking at getting an ipad pro for my partner whos doing interior design at uni im waiting for the m3 and i know shell end up having to pay a fortune to get the highest ram options.
    Will the 4th gen be fine in the meantime for use with canva, microsoft word & powerpoint?

      @gcaleblee  4 місяці тому

      Hey there, apologies for the late reply, I'd totally steer away from the 4th gen for any work/study related functions. Highly recommend minimum M1 chip w/ more ram, which may suffice and she may not even need the M3!

    I would like to purchase that however I would need to make up ≈$265-$475 more money in order to afford that.

      @gcaleblee  8 місяців тому

      Yeah, it's crazy how everything is now calculated in hundreds of dollars. It's worth questioning what you actually need and if it'll help, and also, how frequently you plan to upgrade!

    Bad example
    As a car nut we can pretty much say we hate the route cars are going … Al new cars moving towards one screen doing it all is in fact a money saving measure. The cost for wiring and actual buttons are more expensive , bmw had teams of ppl figuring out the best damped button feel
    With the best sounding click …
    Also if I have to dig through menus and search into sub menus just to turn on. Seat heating you’ve lost a loyal customer.
    And most luxurious cars are keeping the main shortcut buttons especially luxury car retain necessities ie volume -climate -track skip etc…
    Crazy how you can’t txt and drive yet now your whole phone is on a larger more distracting screen .. searching through submenus for simple basics functions
    Buttons you grow accustom eg window switch u can access blind because you grow accustomed to the car…
    When u can focus your entirety on the screen., then yay go screen !!
    But when driving give me a button anyday … !

    "Literally anything the iPad can do the MacBook can do much better". Really? You can write and draw on a MacBook? MacBooks have a rear facing camera so I can take it with me and take pictures and jot down field notes as I go? I'm having a hard time seeing how I could do that with a MacBook. I suppose it is a "luxury" in that it keeps me from having to have a separate camera and keep a note pad and transfer all the images later and compile notes with images in a another program - which can be a bit more time consuming. *Your* iPad Pro might "definitely be a luxury item" - but don't make that assumption for other people. You can easily make the case that ANY Apple product is a luxury item as are getting the newest phones or newest brands of any brand or laptop. I agree that an iPad isn't a good choice for someone doing serious desktop work or that needs more screen room to work efficiently - but it's not a limited choice between an iPad and Macbook; it has to do with what you want and need to do and what you already have.

    Is this still worth it in 2024 the 11inch one?

    • @gcaleblee
      @gcaleblee  6 місяців тому +1

      Hey Maxime, totally depends on what you plan to do with it. If it’s just for leisure, like reading articles and watching videos it should be fine but for any work flow I would suggest going for at least the M1 variant. Cheers!
