First of all ISPOS take no Ada out of circulation they literally have their own stake pools. None of the Ada is taken out of circulation and it is still counted as part of the whole stake for the Cardano ecosystem. ISPOs are a trap. I used to participate in them all the time, but I've since learned that most ISPO tokens are worthless. In fact, many of them have lost over 99% of their value since they were first issued. This is because ISPOs often attract speculative investors who are looking to make a quick profit. You get very few tokens, but insiders and big players get even more and they sell them, which drives down the price and you probably get 1/10 of ADA price. ISPOs also hurt the Cardano ecosystem. When projects raise money through an ISPO, they are essentially taking ADA out of circulation. This reduces the amount of ADA that is available for staking, which can lead to lower rewards for stakers. Additionally, ISPOs can create a false sense of security among investors. Many people believe that ISPO tokens are a safe investment because they are backed by a real project. However, this is not always the case. There have been cases of ISPO projects that have rug pulled their investors, meaning that they have taken the money and run. For these reasons, I believe that ISPOs should be avoided. If you are looking to invest in Cardano, I recommend that you do so by buying ADA directly. This is a much safer investment, and it will help to support the Cardano ecosystem. I hope this helps!
There are exceptions though. For example with Meld you would have gotten a lot more if sold after the airdrop than if you had just staked for ADA rewards. But I agree, it is a bit of a gamble and often not worth it. You do help the team so it's different than just buying ADA.
