It is a gorgeous country and I moved here in May 2020. It was very difficult to being elderly and disabled and between lockdowns in both countries but I don't regret leaving UK.
When I visited Ireland with my oldest granddaughter I remember blessing my good luck in choosing a travel package that included a private car and driver. Ireland is blessed with a few large roads and many, many one way two way roads. There is nothing like coming up to a tree lined corner within a corridor of trees and seeing a huge bus, lorry, or farm implement coming the other way! I notice Drew finds many of the same roads in England, Scotland, and Wales!
Loss of words under the roof of the Irish Castles wow everyone who was someone built a treasure in Ireland. Ireland women are extremely blessed with natural beauty and grace but now I see how much the world loves Ireland wow no wonder the English King had to have Ireland!

The first grand house with the rose velvet sofa in disreputable repair was interesting. I've visited houses with the same furnishings and challenges. Not enough funds to reupholster their own sofa, it sits in the study and emanates an air of disheveled and worn elegance. But selling it wouldn't provide enough cash to buy another worn and disheveled sofa. A new sofa wouldn't be visually correct. What a conundrum. That being said, if Drew purchased it, the cost of repairing and renovating it the structure plus upholstery, then having the brick and mortar showroom to exhibit it for sale is justification for a profit. It would be saved, wages would be paid, and the profit enables him to stay in business.
I don't think handing over a mere 120 quid is going to do much for Charleville Castle's upkeep somehow. It would barely cover the cost of a bottle of Tullamore Dew whiskey. 28:25 "We have to save it". Yeh, right. Do you call that 'saving it'?
I feel bad for the people who do not have an inkling for what their items are actually worth. They often experience capturing a tiny fraction of the true monetary value. Saying that, I have also been a victim of the same thing on several past occasions.
When it comes to watching programs like this, I can't comprehend that property is simply 'abandoned'. If there is no heir, does the land title revert to the government and may or not be sold on? Are there squatter's rights in the UK?
Word to the wise: Not everyone wants to go to a circus advertised through vinyl letters cut out by a robot. Circuses used to have their own artists and signwriters. Now they've got their own computers and plotters.
On other shows I'm amazed at how often he offers people close to what he'll sell it for, and often over what they ask if they are way too low. He's factoring his trip to Ireland into what he needs to pay for, and that's a lot.
I think you would be appalled by how much restoration actually costs when the costs of skilled employees, equipment, premises and materials are taken into account.
you should all be prosecutef for insulting him and calling him a con. These are accusations. And you are so stupid that you cannot check within 2 seconds that this is the 3rd season only and 2013 (completely different prices and the beginning of the program). Restoration costs, 2 man worked on that table hours, polish materials etc and still you dont know for how much it was selled.

Bonnie and Dudley's castle home is amazing!! What a commitment to take on.
They don't own it
Did I see it in a movie. If not it should be. Wonderful
Ireland looks extremely beautiful and cozy!

Drew Pritchard - the Samurai of Salvage.
My thanks, appreciation and respect to you, sir. I wish you eternal happiness, health and peace, success and progress in your work. Accept my regards.
That Dog was clever at the end.
The castle was incredible, thanks 😊

What a great series
It was a crime to take that sofa out of that room, it was sweet. GREAT SHOW!!
The house was absolutely stunning

Your dog was the star!
to go all the way to ireland to buy some candle sticks and a broken lamp..
Nice touch at the end with Enzo's shadow projected on the wall !
Two great buildings
adorable ending !

As opposed to future occasions.
@@pietervh56 hopefully..
Your stuff is really only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That's why a lot of these guys have tons of junk.
@@sheilaghbrosky4150 Good point. 👍

Great show love your items
Awesome! Doesn't he rip off here and there? Surely lots to be done and people in trade to be paid yet he does it goood :-)
It shouldn't matter that the Irish couple got the oak school tables for free.
They got absolutely fleeced by Drew there.
Drew cant go to 80 bucks but the announcer said it's worth up to $350
That's after he's got it back to Wales and paid for restoration. Anything is only worth what someone will offer and the other accept.
1:30 wow
May Drew and Rebecca are back together! Hope so.
It's an old episode from the beginning. Read Drew's book to find out more.
Awesome spot light floor stand n the oak tables.
Enjoy

Would it have killed Drew (who I mostly love) to have offered that first couple £500? At 250 per table, there was still plenty of profit.
Please post new episodes

He who has no past has no future
Drew dont you feel guilty you paid 350 for something you will retail for 3200 after minimal restoration?
notice this more than once on this show...thought maybe he was also buying for cash converters...lol
Exactly I would feel bad! I dont like that!
I would feel really bad, I can imagine those people when they see those items sold for so much (and they really need the money). Not cool at all.
How much do you think he has to pay expert restorers to wait around for something to work on, even if it says minimal restoration?
On other shows I'm amazed at how often he offers people close to what he'll sell it for, and often over what they ask if they are way too low. He's factoring his trip to Ireland into what he needs to pay for, and that's a lot.
It does not cost that much to restore. He took advantage of ppl looking for cash
I think you would be appalled by how much restoration actually costs when the costs of skilled employees, equipment, premises and materials are taken into account.
He has to pay wages, taxes, insurances, etc etc..
Drew is like a church...10% offer
👁✌️👁
his wife is soooo weird
Terrible waste of time for a business person.
Geez, he robbed blind those people with the huge tables! Thief!
I don't like this beady-eyed guy, Drew.👎
He's a businessman ...shrewd but has to pay a crew, and keep a costly business going. I'm just impressed to see him finally kiss his wife!!
Con man
you are
The 2 tables were just sitting in the stable gathering dust, but he should have offered 500 pounds at least TBH.
