I'm a Mopar guy to the bone, but all the post 90s Dodge and Chrysler engines suck ass. Poor engineering and cost cutting with modern Mopars sadly. They were once ahead of their time, and making unheard of leaps in engine tech back in the 50s and 60s. Made bad ass muscle cars in the 70s, I have a 1971 Super Bee 383 big block, 727 trans, ram air hood, plumb crazy purple. And a 1951 Chrysler Windsor DeLuxe with a 331 Hemi, Dodge/Chryslers first hemi. 65-73 was their peak, now they just make cheap shit, with even cheaper overseas castings, and parts that fail before 100k even hits. Can't count how many heads Iv had to rebuild for a misfire due to their terrible valve setup, or timing chains and cranks Iv replaced for a lower end tick that happens with their cars that have higher idle hours. I have a 2019 red eye I bought from a friend that got tired of dumping money into the 6.2. I have plans to rip it out and swap to a 426 max wedge I had sitting in my garage for a few years waiting on a 1964 Polara to pop up for a resonable price lol.
Seth Phillips I feel the same way about my 1996 gen 1 Dodge Dakota Sport 4X4 extended cab 5.2L V8 Magnum with a 5 speed manual that is pushing around 330-360 hp (haven’t gotten it tested yet but did some math on what I did to it and 360hp is the number the math came up to but I’m accounting for regular wear and tear dropping the numbers a bit so around 330-360)

I owned a 1972 Dodge Challenger at 17, now 67 and had to get one more 2022 Challenger Scat Pact, Wide Body, Shaker Hood and 6.4 Liter Hemi Engine, get one before there gone. Makes me smile every time it’s cranked up.

After dreaming of owning one for 12 years, I finally picked up my '09 SRT8 about 4 months ago. Previous owner took fantastic care of her, rarely took her out and about with only 13k miles total. Seeing the old man reminisce about this vehicle to his grandkids as if it were a legendary tale really made me envision my own life in the distant future. Now that I finally own my dream car, this video has greatly inspired me to put preservation above all else so that future generations can enjoy these American icons of the "once modern" muscle era. My uncle had a 69 charger 440. He sold it in 75. After a very long search he found it and bought it back. It had sat in a barn since around 1980. It needs a lot of work but still has # matching engine and not a ton of rot. He said the car will never leave the family again. We are a ford family when it comes to trucks but when in comes to muscle mopar all the way.
