Matthew and Luke give two contradictory genealogies for Joseph (Matthew 1:2-17 and Luke 3:23-38). They cannot even agree on who the father of Joseph was. Church apologists try to eliminate this discrepancy by suggesting that the genealogy in Luke is actually Mary's, even though Luke says explicitly that it is Joseph's genealogy (Luke 3:23). Christians have had problems reconciling the two genealogies since at least the early fourth century. It was then that Eusebius, a "Church Father," wrote in his The History of the Church, "each believer has been only too eager to dilate at length on these passages."
2. Why genealogies of Joseph?
Both the genealogies of Matthew and Luke show that Joseph was a direct descendant of King David. But if Joseph is not Jesus' father, then Joseph's genealogies are meaningless as far as Jesus is concerned, and one has to wonder why Matthew and Luke included them in their gospels. The answer, of course, is that the genealogies originally said that Jesus was the son of Joseph and thus Jesus fulfilled the messianic requirement of being a direct descendant of King David.
Long after Matthew and Luke wrote the genealogies the church invented (or more likely borrowed from the mystery religions) the doctrine of the virgin birth. Although the virgin birth could be accommodated by inserting a few words into the genealogies to break the physical link between Joseph and Jesus, those same insertions also broke the physical link between David and Jesus.
The church had now created two major problems: 1) to explain away the existence of two genealogies of Joseph, now rendered meaningless, and 2) to explain how Jesus was a descendant of David.
The apostle Paul says that Jesus "was born of the seed of David" (Romans 1:3). Here the word "seed" is literally in the Greek "sperma." This same Greek word is translated in other verses as "descendant(s)" or "offspring." The point is that the Messiah had to be a physical descendant of King David through the male line. That Jesus had to be a physical descendant of David means that even if Joseph had legally adopted Jesus (as some apologists have suggested), Jesus would still not qualify as Messiah if he had been born of a virgin - seed from the line of David was required.
Women did not count in reckoning descent for the simple reason that it was then believed that the complete human was present in the man's sperm (the woman's egg being discovered in 1827). The woman's womb was just the soil in which the seed was planted. Just as there was barren soil that could not produce crops, so also the Bible speaks of barren wombs that could not produce children.
This is the reason that although there are many male genealogies in the Bible, there are no female genealogies. This also eliminates the possibility put forward by some apologists that Jesus could be of the "seed of David" through Mary.

The first prophecy needed more justice done to it. It was not just that there will be rivers and gardens in the future from the deserts of the Arab peninsula but they will "become rivers and forests like they used to be". We know through modern Geography and science that the Arab peninsula was a lush green land full of water and plants and trees. This was hundreds of thousands of years ago so the Prophet Mohammed (SAWS) could only have known that via divine knowledge.

What a straightforward guy, just straight up admits everything Shamsi said is logical. No games, no word play, no BS. May Allah guide him, amen.
So now he has a choice, to follow the one logical belief or follow some other illogical belief. All his stuff at 15:35 "Someone could argue against your points" doesn't mean they can argue against them successfully. Is that person going to be honest that argues with Shamsi? Are they going to ask loaded questions and make emotional appeals to convince others? That's the problem, they either do something underhand like that or they accept what Shamsi says as they recognize it as truth. There is no one that can successfully argue with the truth and that your logic recognizes it should be a sign to you to use what you've been given. I love that Allah tells us to use our intellect and it's sad when humans say things like I don't use logic in my belief...how can a human, a being that operates with logic toss it to the side for something the person is claiming is so important like our eternal resting place?

I really enjoyed listening to this BarakAllahu Feek. I do not have the patience for dealing with some of the extremely argumentative people that go to Speakers Corner (like Hatun). The kid in this video seemed like he was willing to listen and did not use harshness against Shamsi out of arrogance. May Allah guide the kid. Shamsi spoke very well and brought very good, easy to understand points in a clear and concise manner. May Allah grant many blessings upon Shamsi and increase his knowledge of Deen.

Why do so called salafis never have nothing good to say anybody who doesn't profess to be salafi I once invited a salafi couple to my house for dinner the first thing I didn't like was the fact that his wife went to my bookshelf and start looking to see whether or not the authors were salafi scholars or muftis I worked in a bookstore for over 5 yrs because she didn't know some of the scholars we knew she told my wife not to take dawah from that person I said I'm gonna take knowledge from anyone who's following the minhaj of prophet Muhammad and his companions and I said doesn't that make me a salafi he said yes then I said why do I have to say that I'm a salafi you making it sound like a sect and prophet Muhammad saw said to stay away from sects so I'm just happy with saying I'm just a Muslim following the sunna of prophet Muhammad they were the best of mankind and they never called themselves salafis anyways that ended our friendship they have a habit of running ppl away from Islam I never see anyone taking shahada from them giving dawah .

Shamsi missed a trick when the gentlemen mentioned that books tend to have discrepancies through time especially if it was written by man, although Shamsi did explain how the Quran been memorized, yet with that example, he only scratched the surface when it comes to showcasing how the Quran was preserved.
He could have further showcased with many examples in the scientific study of language ie; "linguistics" how can a human author volume of words in a speech format without being written at first nor edited, be produced in increments for a span of 23 years and not find a single grammatical mistake nor a style change. For instance, the Baqara chapter has 286 verses and in one verse it says "We've made you into a middle nation" and since the word "middle" is used it was placed in the middle of the actual chapter at verse 143! remember now, this was delivered in a speech, not in written format by a man who could not read nor write.
This is one of many linguistic examples in the Quran that will make sit up and ask a very simple question "Can someone actually speak like that?"

Beautiful advise from the Shaykh Al ‘Allaamah 'Abdul 'Azeez Ibn Baaz (rahimullah)..
It was said to the shaykh,
“Oh shaykh, so and so has become misguided”.
The Shaykh replied:
“Perhaps his deviation was due to two things:
1. He didn’t ask Allâh for Ath-thabaat (firmness).
2. He didn’t thank Allâh for Al-Istiqaamah (steadfastness)
So when Allâh chose for you the path of guidance, it was not because you are special, nor was it because of your obedience. But rather, it was a mercy from Him that enveloped you. He can remove it from you at any time.
Therefore, do not be deceived by your actions nor by your worship. And do not look down upon the one who has deviated from His path. For had it not been due to His mercy, you would have been in his position.
Repeat the recitation of this verse while pondering:
﴿ ولوﻵ أن ثبتناك لقد كدت تركن إليهم شيئا قليلا ﴾
"Had We not made you firm (Oh Muhammed صلى الله عيه وسلم) then you would have inclined towards them slightly.”
So upon is to not to think that thabaat (firmness) upon Al-Istiqaamah (steadfastness) is due to your own personal achievements. Ponder over His statement (Ta'aalaa) to the best of mankind: “Had We not made you firm (Oh Muhammad صلى الله عيه وسلم).”
So how about you?
We are greatly mistaken when we disregard and pay no attention to our athkaar (supplications of remembrance). We believe it to be something that is not important and we forget that Allâh preserves us with it. And perhaps the decree will change…
Ibnul-Qayyim says:
“The need of the servant in his supplications by which he seeks refuge [in Allah], is more severe than his need for food, drink and clothes!”
Be consistent in your athkaar (supplications of remembrance), so that you can encompass the meaning:
“Preserve Allâh, He will preserve you.”
Fortify [yourselves] every morning and evening [with your athkaar (supplications of remembrance)]. For the dunya (life of this world) is horrifying and full of surprises and Allâh is the protector of His servants.

Read those verses in context. Verse 5 asks man to contemplate what he was created from. Verse 6 said man was created from a jetting fluid. Verse 7 then refers back to man as being issued from between the loin and the breastbones. Tell me, where else is the location of a baby in its mom if not between the ribs and the loin?
What got you confused is the pronoun used there. Unlike English, Arabic does not have different pronouns for "it" and "he". "Yakhruju" is an Arabic phrase that can mean either "he comes out" or "it comes out". Why then did you choose "it" rather than "he" (which is the original subject of the verses)
As for the sun setting in a murky water, if you read carefully and honestly, you'd find out that the sun is not the subject of the verse, rather Zul-qarnain is, which is why it makes sense. You should see that the whole set of verses are perspectival in the sense that they relate the sun-setting event from Zul-qarnain's point of view, which will be the perspective of anyone standing in front of an ocean. "Wajadaha" is an Arabic phrase that means "HE found it", which means "it appeared to HIM
