Me watching this entire video knowing I have never even played this game and never will but spend as much time watching it being played then I do playing any game myself 🤦♂️
Looks similar to a build I currently use when I'm solo, but I never was able to find a good way to create a good compound for it, This helps a lot thx.
Couldn't you also raise the foundation on the first jump up to make it a bunker? Not new to rust, but I am new to trying to make custom bases and this one is unique I'm gonna take the footprint and see what I can do with it
Bunkers are falling out of meta a bit, so I don't blame him for not including it. Most people just pound a base straight to tc, so a bunker is useless in those situations, and just makes living in it more annoying.
Built this a couple times now and god damn it goes hard. Takes such minimal upkeep and easy to expand in stages, like you would on a vanilla or high pop server. Highly recommend it for a solo/duo/trio.
@@robertduff877place the box in front of the tc sideways, so you can still crouch under and reach the hitbox. They show in the video what the placement should look like @0:32. See the campfire where you walk over? Garage door instead of the double makes it easier to get in.
Some really cool ideas here! Some of the placements would make getting around difficult. I'd replace some of shelf/box rooms with bedrooms instead of having beds in the walkways. And you can replace some of the boxes with vertical barrels if you want more storage. Love the peek designs and turret placements, though I'd like to see a version with chainlink fences in front
at 7:20 i have never even though about just reversing the side the horizontal barrier to make a different kind of angle so people cant grab boxes and stuff nice job on that purely unique
The build is ok. There are parts to it that I question and can see improvements for. My biggest issue is that the 2x1 revamp has become a popular choice recently after I've been using my own design for the past 3 months that's seems to be better than this. Its the warrior 2x1 and 2x2 resurgance again
This is really awesome! I’m new to rust and usually play duo with my friend. We couldn’t figure out how to build a strong base that we didn’t have to be on every 10 hours to upkeep! Earned a sub from me!
That loot room infront of tc isnt optimal. U can fit a furnace in the triangle with the tc if u put it against a wall, then make it a triangle instead of a full floor so u can access it. Same storage, extra furnace.
The loot room works well enough. If you need more space for cooking coal and mixing, just build one or two more floors higher. Once you put up wood/stone walls to compound, the large and electric furnaces will take care of everything you need to smelt.
The point of a square roof tile is that it adds raid cost. A triangle roof in the loot room would mean anyone blasting the tc window can just climb through, square roof tile = no climb ins. Realistically you're right and I'm with you guys on this being terrible for placement, good idea to switch up as a rat solo in your loot hole but in terms of overall flow, fun, and level of tediousness involved, it's a no from me.
still pretty new to the game so I genuinely have no clue but do you have to use a hammer to remove any window to access the lockers/batteries? I didn't think you could just pick things up through the windows but it seems like it would be a lot of extra effort to pick them up and repair them every time you put them back down. Awesome build though!
@@Ormusn2o that makes a lot of sense, I use tc too much for general storage I think. Tried this design out without the externals though and it worked great!
Good twist to the classic 2x1. I my self like to think I specialize in the 2x1 so I’m gonna use this foot print and turn it into a monster somthing a little bit bigger and stronger for the 4-8 player groups who don’t want to farm all day but also want somthing fast but strong to live in. Nice twist tho!
This is one of the best builds I’ve ever seen, but I do have one question on the roof. It looks to me that you pointed all of your Turrents towards your roof scoops. Why did you do that?
honestly one of the best bases I've seen, and honestly one I know I'll never get around to making because of the investment, plus size of it will attract a lot of attention for a Solo like me.
Hq might be a bit high for a solo but definitely good solo duo base but i seen some things that probably didn't need to be upgraded to hq could of saved some for sure w base
Nice build, but i just stick to my non expanded no honeycomb starter stone 2x1😂 big bases with peaks are cool and all, but it’s like 100% offline guaranteed. I have 2500 hrs and have never once been onlined in a big base, just wastes a full day or 2 building it to lose it all while you sleep to a fresh spawn with no job or life that will drain turrets for 8hrs straight😂
Not really seeing the benefit of all the window loot rooms. You save some metal, but it makes getting your loot a pain, cost some frags every time you need to access a loot room, and gives the raiders free access to every loot room if they raid your TC before you get your externals down.
Mainstream base meta still owns this, there is a reason it's the meta and this isn't 😅 loving the new perspective on base building tho, keep refining this build and you never know it may just become a solo meta method
This thing kinda sucks ass, 15 rocket raid for most of the wipe? Super cheap to door bang? Shot gun traps can just be crouched under since the door frame and floor obscures their firing.
It's been a couple of years since I've last played rust, but this looks like an interesting compilation of popular building techniques.
