ireland beat holland 1 - 0 in september 2001 that ended hollands chances of getting to the world cup. we aldo beat holland in a friendly a few years back robbie keane got a great solo goal. i love when we play the dutch because they are usually good games and the dutch supporters are great just like the irish

I think dimwal says it all ... we know how good we are or arent and just enjoy winning when we do. This was a great time for us tho .. we beat Holland away 2 1 then Germany here then Italy in the WC not bad :-)
Yes, Holland needed to win to take 2nd spot...a draw was enough for us. In the end Portugal only got 1st place ahead of us on goal difference. I would have bee great to have held on when 2 - 0 up away to Holland instead of them clawing it back to 2- 2..but we still made it and that's all that matters.

when we beat the germans and the dutch pre world cup 94, this was the point when our expectations were the highest ever for an irish team

jaysus we beat germany away, holland away then italy at world cup and phil babb even looked great, i though we were going places!
was ireland in lansdowne both of us needed to win to take second spot we beat holland 1 nail hence knocked them out
