My collection is built to shoot fast and accurate! Thanks. Your collection is gorgeous... and expensive I'm guessing! LOL. What part of the country do live?
I just found your channel and it brought back a memory. I bought a Mk II about 35 years ago and when I took it apart to clean it, I misplaced the manual. That pistol was apart for about a month before I found the manual and was able to reassemble it. lol, Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it.
Hi Royvinator! Thanks for watching my videos. Im thrilled to bring back memories for you. Sorry it wasn't a good one! LOL. I edited out the real and extended aggravation I went through to put that Mark III back together. I dislike the process so much I switched back to my Mark IV Black Mamba even though I shoot the Mark III Scorpion better! I just don't have the patience. I wont sell the Mark III because I love it but definitely need to master the process of putting it back together after cleaning it! Enjoy, Terry
A video of how and what you do to Ruger mags would be awesome! I've seen a few videos that address one thing or another but not a complete whole mag tuning.
Glad you did this video. I just left a comment on the prior one saying recommend doing the breakdown before going to the range lol. You're ahead of me. I really want to get a nice 22. All I have is two 9mm and can barely afford to shoot
Hi Chase, I always enjoy feedback, questions and comments from people kind enough to watch one of my videos. The old version was the most viewed video I've posted and the most complained about video! I had to remake it. I highly recommend Volquartsen. They are expensive at about $1400+/- but they are competition ready out of the box. Super accurate. Super fast! Extremely well built with an incredible trigger. You'll love it. Buy Once... Cry Once. I tried S&W, Glock, Ruger, etc. Sold 'em all and finally broke down and bought my first Volquartsen. I am not sponsored by them or on their payroll but as you can see....I'm a believer. Hope this helps, Terry
Thank you for posting this video! I just recently decided to get into this sport with rimfires more seriously. I'm glad I found you...I definitely look forward to soaking up your wisdom and experience . Liked and subscribed...
Hi TwoGunTerry, I enjoy your UA-cam video's. We love Steel Challenge in Minnesota also. Where did you get your nice hat? 2nd, I'd like t move to Florida in the winter months, where's good location for shooting lots of steel Challenge all winter down there? Thank you!
Hi there Wgreenough! Thanks for watching my Two Gun Terry videos. Very much appreciated! We love Steel Challenge too! I'd love to have a few more competitors come to Florida. My USA hat I picked up in a gas station convenience store believe it or not. The best $10 I've ever spent! LOL As for where to live in Florida, the good news is Florida is responsible firearm ownership and use friendly. There are many ranges all over the state. There are a few spots that have ranges an hour away in every direction. Do you prefer city life or a bit more rural? Fast paced or slower lifestyle. Affordability? Are you still working or retired? Weather, especially the H word (hurricanes). West coast or east coast? I have lived in the West Palm Beach area on the east coast for 25+years. It's a faster pace. Good area for business opportunities. Diverse population. Lots to do. Plenty of shopping for the wife! LOL. Great beaches if that's your thing. Amazing golfing. Hundreds of well stocked lakes and ponds for Largemouth Bass fishing. World class saltwater fishing. Boating is always a great day. Off Broadway theaters and concert venues are sprinkled about. Disney World is a couple of hours North. Miami is a couple of hours south. Alligators and the Everglades are not to far west. Weather in the winter is 70s and low 80s. Typically little rain despite this year raining more than normal. The west coast has much of the same things to do but less of it and at a slower pace. The sunsets are beautiful. The Gulf of Mexico is perfect for water sports and boating. The beach sand in the Naples area is fine and softer than the east coast. Central Florida is the tourist capital of the world. Disney, MGM Studio, Epcot, Seaworld, just to name a few of the theme parks. Many many hotels. People who live there say they love it. Maybe an hour North of Orlando is where I would consider moving for Steel Challenge matches. It's one of those areas with outdoor ranges an hour in every direction. Volusia Hunt and Gun Club near Daytona is owned by a competitive shooter, Gorka Ibanez, he has Steel Challenge matches every week. He has all 8 stages setup every day. Great for training! Universal Shooting Academy located in Frostproof is also in the area. They host major National matches for USPSA and IPSC as well as 3 Gun. They are owned by Frank Garcia, a world class competitive shooter. He also has Steel Challenge matches every week and all 8 stages setup every day. Brunnell Gun Range, Central Florida Gun Range, and other ranges are within an hour to hour and a half from northern central Florida, just above the Orlando area. Summers are brutally hot and humid. 90s and thunderstorms almost every day. Hurricanes can be pesky. You become a weather expert. The National Weather Service just named the first tropical storm of the season today. I've lived through several over 25 years. You must put up shutters on your windows and doors or have impact glass. The storms can be dangerous as well as a serious inconvenience after it passes. You must be prepared for no power for a few days or longer. Stock up on drinking water, non perishable food items, batteries, gasoline for cars and generators, etc. If you're a "snowbird", meaning you live in Minnesota in the summer and Florida in the winter, you'll have the best of both worlds. Allow for a year or so to get acclimated to the area. Real Estate, rent, food, insurance, and gasoline are on the high side because the area is in demand. No state income tax doesn't hurt. Sales tax is 6-7%. In my opinion, north of Orlando and Naples/Ft Myers/Tampa areas can meet your criteria as far as shooting steel! Hope this helps, Terry
Finished pimping the ruger 22/45 lite last year. Almost done with T/CR 22 (probably in a few days). Look forward to the steel challenge this year. Thank you for this great video.
I just found your channel and love it, the content, and the cat! I listen at 2X speed and don't seem to lose any content, so an abbreviated agenda might be advised. I have a Black Mamba and recently bought the Mamba-X with he flat top for red dot mounting closer to the barrel axis. Your red dots seem high, perhaps why the sight picture changes for you. Also, the X seems slightly heavier, even though both are the 4.5" barrels. I do have my red dot in the rear position, I think helpful in the shorted barrel gun. Anyway, liked and subscribed - would love to see a magazine tune up video!
Thank you George for watching! My kitty is a bit of a Diva and loves the camera! hahahah I just shot the 6" Mamba X recently. It was brand new and not sighted in so I scrapped the video until it's ready to shoot but I'm really looking forward to it!!! Magazine Tune Up will be my next video. Just for you my friend!!! Enjoy, Terry
Love your video, awesome and knowledgeable content. I will make one comment on the 22/45 sidearm you bought to begin with. It looks like the receiver was from a Mark 3 in the series (please correct me if I am wrong) I have a 22/45 Mark 3 with a 3 inch bull barrel and it was the worst in the series, magazine disconnect, loaded chamber indicator, key lock on the action. A gun designed by lawyers. I have an 73 model standard, Mark 2 and Mark 4. All of which shoot with no issues. But the Mark 3 was dismal. I put a lot of work into it and managed to get a serviceable sidearm but it was a struggle. Under no circumstances, based on my experience, would I use a Mark 3 for race shooting, CCW, plinking or a boat anchor. Keep up the great videos, my friend.
Wow Grim! Sorry for your troubles with the Mark III. Im not a fan of the Mark III take down. What a pain! Ruger solved that problem with the Mark IV thank Goodness! As for shootability the Mark III was problematic out of the box BUT it was the magazines that had to be tuned. After I shaped the feed lips and polished all moving parts to silky smooth I had no problems. PS. I've had no issues with either Volquartsen. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. Buy once, Cry once! Thanks, Terry
@@TwoGunTerry Oh yeah, when I got my first Mark IV, I got misty eyed, Went and bought 2 more. I have heard nothing but great things about volquartsen, supposed to be the gold standard. Never used any parts or bought any guns from them, They are expensive and you get wat you pay for but I got a problem, every time I go near a gunstore I get mugged. I wind up waking up 45 minutes later short 400 hundred dollars and a new gun in my hand. Happens everytime. At least that is what I tell my wife
Hi Terry - we met a couple of Saturdays ago at an event at OK Corral. Thanks for our conversation there. Say, is your Black Mamba the 4.5" version or the 6"? I think it's the 4.5, but wanted to confirm.
Hi Frank, thank you for watching my videos! I use the 4.5" version of the Volquartsen Black Mamba. With a compensator (aka. "comp") on the front, the overall length is just under 6 inches. I've noticed that some shooters are using the 6" barrel with a compensator coming in just under 8 inches. Some say the longer barrel is more accurate because the distance between front and rear sights is longer and thus more accurate aiming. If you are going to use an optic (aka. a "dot" or "red dot") the length from front to rear sight becomes irrelevant. In my opinion, for Steel Challenge the targets aren't far enough away to make a dramatic difference except maybe on the three 35 yard targets. Two on Outer Limits and one on Speed Option. If I were to buy a new rimfire pistol I would probably want to try the longer 6" barrel. Mainly because I've never shot. BTW, a compensator is supposed to help with muzzle rise. There is some debate whether that's true or not but I'm a believer. One thing to keep in mind with comps is that they can get clogged with lead after a couple thousand rounds. The term for this is "leading up". If you are interested, I am selling one of my three Volquartsen rimfire (.22 caliber) pistols. It started out as a Ruger Mark III 22/45 Lite. I changed out just about everything to Volquartsen including the trigger and barrel. Only the bolt and lower grip is still Ruger. The gun is in perfect operating condition. You're the first to hear about it. I haven't told anyone that I'm selling it yet. Frankly, I don't need three! $1000 firm. It is completely match ready and comes with 5 tuned magazines ($25 each 5x$25=$125). Tuned means they run great in the gun. It has iron sights so you may want to add an optic (red dot). I recommend the C-More 12 MOA Railway optic. They cost about $250 if you shop around and can be added later. It even has a Volquartsen compensator ($103) and TandemKross thumb rest ($60) for better control. The only negative is that it is a Mark III and a bit of a pain to take apart. There are good videos on other UA-cam channels that show how to do it correctly. If you follow the steps exactly it's no big deal. My Scorpion is also a Mark III. Here's a link to one video I found to disassemble and reassemble the Mark III ua-cam.com/video/0zjlddGlOtU/v-deo.html Other than that the pistol does not need anything. It runs great! I have posted a video of all three of my Volquartsen pistols and one rifle. Here is a link to that video: ua-cam.com/video/hHLDNASncC0/v-deo.html I'm thrilled that you are interested in Steel Challenge it's a great sport with great people participating. Enjoy, Terry
You can tune the stock bolt with fiberglass Teflon tape. Just cover the left side of the bolt with the tape it runs really slick I don't even lubricate the bolt, just a drop on the spring/rod.
Hi Carlos, I like CCI and Federal products. We are also testing Norma TAC-22. For 22 practice I use the cheapest ammo I can find. Remington Golden Bullets, Federal 325 packs. Anything as long as its cheap and close to the feet per second (FPS) I shoot in a match. For sighting in my guns or for matches I prefer either CCI 40gr mini mags or if my gun likes it, I'll power down to CCI 40gr Standard. I like the heavier 40gr bullets for rimfire because I can hear them slightly better on Steel. For 9mm I use custom made ammo I make myself. The softer the better for Steel Challenge. Power Factor is irrelevant in Steel Challenge. Enjoy, Terry
Hey 2GT, if i were to start rimfire pistol and slowly tweak it, which of the bazillion ruger models would you suggest? Currently competing with 9mm CO and finishing a 10/22 build. Woluld like to add a rf pistol
Hoping to get a black mamba early 2023. Appreciate your videos. Happy holidays

Ive got a mark iv 22/45 with the plain steel bull barrel. Added the VQ action kit and a c-more it shoots great! It likes any ammo as long as it's CCI.
That’s so funny iron monkey! I’m a huge CCI fan! Just need more!
@@TwoGunTerry I upgraded it with the Scorpion-X LLV upper and bolt. Shoots like a million bucks and eats anything now. Worth every penny!
