Thanks Randy 8:32. East side pond. Laid out some large timbers beside the pond. Must be planning on driving something along that edge. Parallel to to where the pipeline was repaired. Might be somehow associated with that work. 9:51. South alleyway. Blue wall panels on the trailer are of the type installed earlier to the GA wall beside the water vaults. Three trailer loads of these have been parked in the wall panel storage area across the highway for 3 or 4 days. 10:17. South alleyway. Column pedestal on right getting concrete. That’s the one busted out and removed 2 days ago. 12:55. West side GA. New crane for the glazed panel lifting.
It's nice to see that the remnants of the tropical storm didn't leave the site all muddy and wet. At 5:30 I think it's about time they get rid of those temporary support poles for each column. It'll make the concrete pours easier and simpler. At 14:05 looks like they have to finish the walls on the first floor before they can hang the windows on the 2nd floor. Thanks, Randy.
5:45 - great view into casting area! Glad you've worked out the exposures to make this happen. BTW, your introductory recap summation of the site progress is invaluable; I come to your channel for that. Thanks for your work Randy....UA-cam Gem quality!
Totally missed Austin and we could have used the rain. We have about another month to six weeks before we go into our Fall weather season where we usually get significant rain fall. But this year has been so weird who knows.
The storm is currently focused on the east side of Houston at present and may miss the greater Houston area entirely which is really good thing indeed!
Looking great. First Y deliveries I predict March and CT in November. GigaTexas will become the largest, most efficient, highest tech, most advanced auto plant in the world.
At this point we cannot identify any model Y from the site but supossedly many built....I suspect Y in first few months of next year, CT has been canceled until. End of next year, tesla making millions a month on reservations interest alone so will stretch release date to ensure they have everything perfected, and even then maybe blame batteries to extend expected date of delivery of the first few thousands
I'm wondering if all those white model Y's are new cars being hidden in plain sight. Does anyone know? Maybe next go around Randy see if you can check out the plates.
I figure someone goofed on the land purchase or main building footprint (a bit too far north). Either way, they’ll need to buy a bit more land from Austin to push that road alignment out and away from the building. They’re probably waiting for approval.
@@davidfidler1174 I doubt TxDOT will sell them any of the SH 130 right of way. They are stuck with the decisions they made. What surprises me is that they were allowed to build so close to the edge of the property line. Doesn't Texas have any mandatory setbacks in their zoning codes?
One solution to the problem may come if TxDOT decides to build a northbound frontage road, connecting to the SH 130 offramp. Tesla's road around the corner of the building can then become southbound only.
I would imagine that all trucks will enter from the south, back in to be unloaded and then leave to the south. The loop road will not have much traffic.
Around 13:35, all those Teslas in the parking lot! Looks like the style in Austin is for black...are they model 3's? Chrome trim looks like 2020 construction.
I bet they're all California Fremont old hands, who know how to bring up the line. You wouldn't give that job to someone who's never set foot in a factory before.
The only two places on the Tesla plant that got concrete with rebar on the roof were the casting and stamping cathedrals. Everything else got just insulation. Okay, well the battery plant got a combo coating of a thin concrete like layer, with roof insulation. That was probably for fireproofing and temperature control (as battery mfg is very temp sensitive..
The stamping and casting buildings are concrete structures, as opposed to steel framed, the roofing is made from concrete segments, not corrugated steel sheets. Therefore it requires a concrete layer with rebar to tie everything together. That’s why the concrete pillars have metal supports attached to them temporarily, they’re removed once the concrete has cured on the roof.
#NowYouKnow sent me to tell you to contact your congressman today and beg them pass the electric vehicle $7500-$12000 discount renewal bill in it's *current form* (not reduced model eligibility). Cheers!🤞
Sadly americzn build quality sucks bug time, even tesla seem to have been sabotaged by workers. Germany will kick butt when it comes to build quality, just as shanghai is doing already.
All those Black EVs in the lot. Who would buy a black vehicle in Southern Texas?? It’s way too hot. Why all those black Tesla cars? White is the free color for Tesla.
My guess is it all of the employees from California who have been relocated to Texas. There is no way in hell that Tesla was able to find so many new employees in Texas who also happen to own Teslas. Those guys in the black cars will probably trade them in soon. Also, I would be shocked if Tesla management employees don't get a sweet discount to buy Tesla vehicles, further strengthening the relocated employee theory.
@@dalerichardson7202 - yep could be relocated employees. Texas should definitely allow sales of Tesla within the state- and allow Tesla service centers. Black is ok for Northern California, not Austin.
@@shortaybrown Perhaps Tesla will find some friendly Native American reservation where they can sell under the tribe's sovereignty, just as they have started doing in New Mexico.

@ 14:11 For those saying the road is too narrow at the corner of the building.... Fire hydrant in worst possible spot!
Agreed for the moment, but these roads have been realigned many times so far, so another one may be in the cards for this area.
