  • Following a 38-9 home loss to eventual big 12 champs Kansas State, Bo Pelini lashes out at legendary Kansas State Coach Bill Snyder whining about him "running up the score"
    Nebraska picked this tool to be its head coach

    It wasn't in the clip (which is disappointing), but during the second half Pelini charged across the the field and yelled at Snyder to stop running up the score. The sad thing was that Snyder wasn't trying to run up the score, Nebraska was just that bad in the game.

    Right on... and I hope KU vs NU is double overtime, blood on the floor, tank out of gas, won and lost on a 2 point conversion. I was at the 2006 game... I didn't recover my voice for 2 weeks... one of the best games I've ever seen. Rock Chalk, Go Big Red!

    No one associated with Nebraska football should ever whine about running up the score. The gentleman Dr. Tom Osborne had no problems running up 63-0 scores on KSU and KU and others for years. A few a**-whippings might actually humble some of their fans for a change.

    If 38-9 is considered running up the score, I think Bo would've freaked if he ever faced Steve Spurrier.

    What makes this all the better now that Bo is the head coach, is that when Bo has the KSU games in the bag for years to come, he's NOT going to run up the score just to rub it in, cause he has some class. See you in Lincoln

    If you watch the actual game you can see Pelini cussing out Snyder when the coaches met at mid-field. Apperantly Bo went to Manhattan to apologize in person afterwards so he's okay with me now. Disregard my previous comments... Until he goes nuts again

    actually baylor is on the way up. i think they are going to pass up iowa state. i honestly think that KSU is on the way up again too, with bill snyder coming back. he was a good coach and he will make the program decent, but he wont be a longterm solution given his age unless he turns out like joe paterno. snyder did retire earlier though, so i doubt he wants to coach for long. well see, but ksu will be a threat in coming years. hopefully the huskers will keep improving and stay ahead.

    thats actually who ive been comparing bo to. stoops and pelini both have that fire and passion for the game, and because of it are both successful, and bo will do loads better than callahan. its too bad pelini wasnt here last year, we wouldve given USC (and everyone else, for that matter) a better game, thats for sure.

  • @14691
    @14691 16 років тому

    Nebraska's slide into the crapper is not just Callahan's fault. Most NU fans I know were always quick to defend Callahan, they would always say "He took Oakland to the Super Bowl." Your AD fired Frank Solich for a 10-3 season. That move was crazy, I know NU would have killed for a 10 win season last year. Another problem is recruiting. NU can't get the best players from Nebraska anymore. That and most 4 and 5 stars are going to warm weather schools (SEC). KU got around this by recruting in TX.

  • @14691
    @14691 16 років тому

    There's no debate that Nebraska has a better history than KU. But it's also no debate that Nebraska is on the way down and Kansas is on the way up. Nebraska dominance in football is over.

    I'm a Michigan fan living in Nebraska and what you said is SO TRUE. Every time Nebraska loses a game it's for one of three reasons:
    #1. (and most-often used) The refs blew the game
    #2. Other team somehow cheated
    #3. Other team got extremely lucky and played better than they ever have before for the first time ever against Nebraksa
    actual reasons:
    #1 Bo Pelini isn't that great of a coach
    #2 Bo Pelini isn't that great of a recruiter
    #3 Other teams are just flat-out better than they are

    i agree, it was stupid to fire solich, and we got rid of pederson (AD) as well. yes he took oakland to the superbowl, but he is not cut out to coach nebraska, he needs to be coaching nfl. and nebraska will be able to get good enough recruits to be good. if you look at the 90s NU teams, the majority of the team was walkons. a football team doesnt have to have a bunch of 4 and 5 star recruits to be a good team. its largely the coaching. thats why bo will do much better than bill.

  • @KBoe4
    @KBoe4 14 років тому

    The defense is great because Bo knows defense. Suh is an amazing player, but Crick and the rest of the defensive line is still going to be dominant.

    Bo is gonna be good for NU. His recruiting has been amazing this year. Jamal Turner, Brion Carnes (Tommie Frazier's cousin), Aaron Green(5star). He got mad from all the b.s. calls at A&M and he got mad at taylor for being on the phone, which is understandable.

  • @huskermaniac28
    @huskermaniac28 16 років тому

    actually that isnt true. a lot of the skills players were scholarship players (such as tommie frazier), but a good bunch of the linemen and some very good players such as jeff mackovika were walkons. plus, some of the scholarship players were from nebraska (ahman green, johnny rodgers, etc.). yes, most skill players had scholarships, but the team was built around farmer boys from nebraska, mostly walkons.

    At least he's a coach who shows he has heart. Instead of a guy just waiting to maybe have a 10 win season so he can go back to the NFL. That's another reason to hate Callahan. If he'd had a great season, he'd have left in an instant.

    Bo Pelini is a football genius! I think you are all jealous he is not coaching Kansas. I can't blame you. Many have criticized Bo for being intense. You will not be successful at any competitive activity if you are not intense. In any highly competitive activity, the winner is typically the person who wants to win more. It comes down to a matter of will. What are you willing to do to win that the other guy isn't? You have to work harder than everyone else. You have to be very intense to win.

    right. however, some of our great players were from other states. tommie frazier was from florida. you really need a good balance. you cant have strictly players from other states, but you arent going to get by with all walkons either. a healthy balance of corn fed nebraska kids and high profile recruits is going to get you the best results. i think pelini is doing a great job of that, and hes going to do a million times better than callahan ever did. thank God hes gone, and bo and tom are back!

I'm pretty sure your getting Carl who is now our defensive head and his brother Bo confused. And ya Bo is mouthy, we still love him. And yes, I'm pretty sure Bo intentionally ran the score up on them when we played them a few weeks ago, all because Snyder did it to us back when this was recorded.

    Pellini should have gotten the NU job back in 2003 when Solich was fired. I agreed with the firing of Solich even though the team was 9-3, his teams often got blown out in their losses and played uninspired football. But bringing in Callahan set the program back years. At least Osborne righted a wrong by bringing Pellini back as head coach this year. Had they made this decision back then they would not have been in the mess to begin with.

    Tom Osborne was smart, he saw that Bill Snyder was passing him up so he retired before Bill could part the red sea. Ask him, he says forget the MNC's his greatest achievement was getting out of the game before Bill "MOSES" Snyder could beat him... Fact.

    Love the Nebaraska fans living in the past of the 90's and their national championships. Bo Pelini will never win a national championship as the head coach of Nebraska.

    if we had a decent head coach we would've won. BUT he cares about D, which isn't a bad thing, so much that he has a horrible offense, casuing us to lose the game..

    Ok seriosly.....having your first team in at the end of the game when its a senior game....thats just low. Not even against starters and your starting quaterback is still in the game....Btw any KSU fans out there....one name that you all need to hear...and that is the man we call SUH!. Bring it on. Oh and cant forget Crick....then theres Dillard....Gomes....Baker....you best bring you A game and nothing else so theres nothing left for whining no matter who wins.

    Now that Pelini has admitted he made a mistake in his remarks to Coach Snyder, hopefully he had matured a bit. He will be a good coach, IF he watches his infantile temper tantrums.

    88-23-3...nebraska's record against kansas
    75-15-2...nebraska's record against kansas st.
    ...Just thought I'd throw that out there.

    After the first half, Pelini started putting in the second and third string. In two of those games, Nebraska played 3 quarterbacks. In the other they played 2. Starters had basically vanished from the games by the fourth quarter.
    KSU ran up the score by leaving in their starters the entire game. There IS a difference.

    KansasIcemaker: So, since you have one of the top offenses in the nation, your boys are playing in the championship this year? Bud, it takes more than just offense to win. Last time we played KU down there, it was painful, but who was our coach? Callahan. I'll stop talkin smack, and let our men do the talking on the field. I'm not going to get dirty like you and call names, but I will wish your boys some luck- they're going to need it. May the best team win; yes, we plan to! GO BIG RED!

    that's the best part about it. a worthless, doormat of the big 8/12 team has been smoking the nubs on a more than regular basis for the past 11 years now. so sad.

    To be "Coach of the Century" shouldn't you actually win something.

    Really sad to see this one go. From the late 90's to the early 2000's this was a fun series to watch. There was always a lot of red in town, which I hated seeing, but it was still fun.

    You have no idea of what you're talking about. K-State had 2 conference offers...KU on the other hand was pushing rumors when they were offer less.
