I'm 38 years old, the first game I ever watched was Florida St in 1993...I've been chasing that high ever since. Finally got it last night. God bless and Go Irish!!
Man it was an emotional win for everyone associated with Notre Dame. I was 11 when we last won the National Championship. I saw Rocket's kickoff return versus Colorado get called back. Yesterday's game was such a great feeling. I live in Texas and I have many text messages and calls congratulating me and Notre Dame. Awesome day!
Great analysis gents - what a resilient, impactful, statement win for the ND program. Character and Defence wins championships, and the Irish recruit and develop both. Coaching staff deserve massive kudos!! This run despite playing 2nd, 3rd and 4th stringers is extraordinary.
Dutch, I wish I could tell you how glorious it was back in the day. We were always in contention for a Natty. I started following ND football in 1964 when I was 12. The games were on radio and in the next decade the replays were on Sunday mornings and that was awesome. The only downtime I can recall were the Faust years in the early 80s, but then Holtz came in in 86 and everything was great again thru 96. While we had our good years ‘97 was the beginning of a slow decline for roughly 15 yrs. You know the Kelly years so I’ll spare you that. The difference I’m seeing now that we used to have is culture. Hopefully Marcus can keep this going. He’s a driven individual, which I think was missing under Kelly.
Hey Pete! Just wanted to thank you for all your years of coverage. I consume far too much sports and entertainment media. I follow journalists, not outlets. Your coverage is among the most consistent in terms of quality and enjoyment. I’m 33 so this was a first for me as an ND fan, It’s been a joy flipping to your channel for context after every ND game, transfer, etc. thanks and let’s keep this thing rolling!
30 yrs old - my entire life I watched ND and yesterday was the second greatest day of football in my life. Colts winning the SB in 06-07 was first but last night was an amazing feeling. So grateful and well worth of the years of “abuse” from ND-haters 😂 2 more games baby, go Irish ☘️
Bring on the Irish!!! Glad we get to play Norte Dame again. Penn St played Norte Dame every year in the 80's early 90's until we joined the B1G. Last game the Irish came to Happy Valley in 2007. They were always great games down to the wire. My Dad was a huge Norte Dame fan we buried him with a Norte Dame shirt. We argued all the time who was better.
The issue with real euphoria one feels after such an emotional win versus what you envision it would be leading up to the game is not nearly the same as the movie we play in our mind. As a 79 year old who lived and died every week as a young boy with my dad who worshipped Our Mother, and came to believe National Championships were ordained directly from the Vatican, I truly don't know how I'm supposed to react, feel, celebrate since it's been so long that we've had such a victory. Frankly, I know there will be some who muse how one can get so wrapped up in what is only a college football game. I get it. However, college sports just happen to be a wonderful escape, not to mention school loyalties that come with attending yourself or having your kids get their degrees from "your" university. When my daughter got accepted I balled my eyes out. We have a robust ND Club here in Wilmington, NC and always have a game watch, last night around 45 of us in a great sports bar with our own room. You would have thought the noise level was that of a 100,000 stadium, one big play after another. But then, we had to get in the car and digest what just happened and grab a fire extinguisher 😂 when we got home for my phone that had been lit up during the game. And this morning I sit and immediately think ahead to PSU whose coach is just about the most unlikable head coach in football, and glad it's his team we're playing to be able to not question my lack of enthusiasm after this wonderful win. I'm exhausted.
Pete don’t drive the “Black coach first” bs narrative. Marcus wants nothing to do with racial narratives. He’s great because he loves the program and knows how to build it.
@kevinpulliam3661 how dare he 😂 i hate woke crap too, but it's factual history. As much as the pendulum may be swinging back, it will never swing so far back a(in our lifetimes), that "first X" to do something won't be newsworthy.
I also thought the PI call on Christian Gray was a poor call. Gray did have a hand full of the receiver’s jersey at the top shoulder. But in my opinion the receiver was not impeded in going for the ball. I can’t remember specifically what it was, but I think there was a make-up call a little later.

Great job all season, at 82 years old, I am now a happy man!!! Go Irish
Pete and Tim an incredible duo! Do it more often please!
It’s important to remember the real hero behind this victory: LSU’s AD.
Show some respect, fellas and give that guy some credit.
This is the biggest ND win in my 27 years on earth.

I lost my voice for the 2nd game in a row. GO IRISH!!☘️☘️
I’m not sure why Mitch Evans isn’t a second “go to guy,” because that is one massive target that has made some good teams look average at times.
Couldn't agree more
"The culmination of roster construction" -- that was a great observation about the contributions last night by the transfers added via the portal.
What A Gritty Game By The FIGHTING IRISH ☘️

Nice golf analogy Pete!!!

Agreed. Was bummed to see Matt talking about that
