Incredible tribute to a defining piece of media I first viewed as a kid. There are things from the past I wanted to see a full resolution to, and this was one of them. Remarkable animators doing wonderful work and giving this era of fan-driven, silly animation the reimagining and send off it deserves. Props to everybody who participated. It really made me happy.
This implies that every single person in fiction and nonfiction are battling to the death in Tokyo. With how absurdly broken fictional characters can be, of all people to win it was Mr. Fricking Rogers.
I mean it’s more believable than you think Most of the god level threats would probably end up killing eachother so quickly that there may not even by any left to deal with the weaker threats leaving mr Rodger’s an actual chance
The fact that so many of these characters were created after the release of the song is really a testament to the song and this collab. Good job guys, all of you!
Gotta say that part where Mr Roger's uh, unalives himself is very cinematic and really well animated. Particularly the part where he looks into his blade and sees what he's truly done. Although the black and white unaliving was also super cinema.
@@superguy9834 the deal is that some websites assume using words like kill means you're making death threats and it gets put on blocklists to cut down on that kind of thing
This is perfect. The inclusion of modern characters at least in the video/visuals was much needed to keep this relevant. I wonder what an updated lyrics version would be like.
its just question of time until someone decides to actually make a movie based on this music. theres a lot of copyright problems but i dont think it is something impossible to happen.
I love the little homages to the original video. Like the kid and his ice cream and the generic "bad guy" dead in a pile. I don't see LowTax in the background, though, which makes me sad.
Wanted to say that the dude next to Samus in my part at 0:50 is Arnold Schwarzenegger circa C̶o̶l̶l̶a̶t̶e̶r̶a̶l̶ ̶D̶a̶m̶a̶g̶e̶ *Commando. Wanted a good guy comparable to the likes of Chuck Norris in the original.
@@Peusterokos1 You are 100% correct, I definitely just switched the C named Arnold movies there when I commented. Commando has the great one liners like "Blow off some steam, Bennett." and the rocket launcher when he storms that island mansion thing. All I really remember from Collateral Damage is him going, "Collateral damage?! I'll show you f@$%ing collateral damage!"
@@fireblade696 Thanks and so my section was part of the chorus and I had free reign to animate whatever characters from pop culture that I wanted to because the lyrics weren't specific to anyone. It just needed to relate to good guys, bad guys, and explosions, as the song talks about. The original song/animation had musical artists like Aaron Carter, fictional characters like Batman, and action movie stars like Jackie Chan and Chuck Norris. I wanted my picks for good guys and bad guys to not feel out of place and have that same range as the original. So there's Billie Eilish covering the music section, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as the action movie star. Chuck Norris was a different kind of 80's action guy, but Arnold was definitely in that realm.
The fact that scout was there for no reason (Keep in mind this is in tokyo) then just got scratched to death by snoopy is oddly fitting for how low damage can kill him in one hit
I'm enamored by how much love Godzilla gets here, as a huge fan it's great to see him consistently a major player throughout the battle, and his death having it's very own scene
It's actually referencing when Godzilla, after fighting the M.U.T.Os (massive unidentified terrestrial organism) walked back to the ocean in 2014, soon to be seen again in Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019 when he fought Monster 0. (aka Ghidorah)
@@AIephNullity Not really. You'll notice that Godzilla returning to the ocean is not a trope specific to 2014's Godzilla. Dozens of other films end their run with the exact same scene, furthermore Godzilla definitely isn't returning to the ocean as his body language is that of a dying creature. The weak attempts to stay steady, the slump as he begins to fall ,and most telling of all, his inability to charge and fire atomic breath.
IT RETURNS! God this was a gem of its time, and there's something really cool to see these new animations include more pop culture icons that didn't exist at the time still fit right in.
I’m a big lemon demon fan so of course this meant a lot to me. I actually found myself crying because it was just so beautiful. All the people who worked on this did an amazing job.
I still love how Mr. Rogers is presumably stronger than every other being in existence, including Kirby, Goku, Ben Ten, Sonic, Saitama, Bayonetta, and essentially a billion other actual humans and original characters that span the entirety of both human imagination and levels of power. Is it the power of love? Course it is, but it's more so that Mr. Rogers had the most of it. Also the fact that the Black Knight can survive being dismembered and still lost is hilarious. Kudos to the many artists that worked on this, it's a worthy successor to the OG vid!
During the time this was written it was a popular rumor that Mr. Rogers was an ex-army sniper with an insane kill count so I'd make sense since he's the only person here that actually killed people. Of course that turned out false but still
@@inspectorjavert9868 I mean, Bob Ross _was_ an ex drill sergeant, and he's practically renowned for bringing serenity to thousands through painting, so it's not entirely far-fetched a rumour.

The Newgrounds easter eggs made me way happier than it should of. This made me all nostalgic and such to boot. Damn you guys for reminding me I have feelings. Fantastic work was done here.
I appreciate the fact that newgrounds basically has their own section for everybody's safety. mostly characters like alien hominid, daddy and me, pico, and tankman killing grunts. I wonder where hank is though?
@@shadesleyer Honestly, Castle Crashers was a little bit later of an addition to most of the referred stuff here. AH, tankguy were part of the OG Newgrounds. CC was a later development, after initial commercial success of the site and some of Tom's projects. The people who were around for the originals are just of a different generation. To refresh: The original song was released in 2005. Babies born at that time are 17 now. Almost old enough to drink a beer and drive a car in most of the world.
It was always inevitable. The good guys always beat the bad guys in the end, and no good guy could ever bring themself to kill Mr. Rogers. It could never have ended any other way.
The internet is truly a magical place as no matter how many talented people you keep track of, there will always be way more that you're unaware of, working on an insanely impressive piece of art that you don't even know about. Truly the boundless nature of human passion

Remarkable animators doing wonderful work and giving this era of fan-driven, silly animation the reimagining and send off it deserves. Props to everybody who participated. It really made me happy.

Gotta say that part where Mr Roger's uh, unalives himself is very cinematic and really well animated. Particularly the part where he looks into his blade and sees what he's truly done. Although the black and white unaliving was also super cinema.

That would actually be his character from Commando. Unless the movie's got several names?
@@Peusterokos1 You are 100% correct, I definitely just switched the C named Arnold movies there when I commented. Commando has the great one liners like "Blow off some steam, Bennett." and the rocket launcher when he storms that island mansion thing. All I really remember from Collateral Damage is him going, "Collateral damage?! I'll show you f@$%ing collateral damage!"
What do you mean by “wanted a good guy comparable to the likes of Chuck Norris in the original”? Also I loved your part of the vid btw.

For some reason 3:11 hits hard for me
The composition is amazing as we see the death of a titan.
I thought he was just walking back into the sea
@@AIephNullity Not really. You'll notice that Godzilla returning to the ocean is not a trope specific to 2014's Godzilla. Dozens of other films end their run with the exact same scene, furthermore Godzilla definitely isn't returning to the ocean as his body language is that of a dying creature. The weak attempts to stay steady, the slump as he begins to fall ,and most telling of all, his inability to charge and fire atomic breath.
He ain't dead, he just went back to the ocean for the next movie. That was '98 Zilla.
