Most people have no fucking idea. My show was mostly a bunch of dirty Jam-Band hippies who came to dance around & do Acid. I was actually at the show in Atlanta, & I can't even describe how goddamn amazing the sound was. Especially the Animals set. Watching Claypool watch me as we both sang every word to "Dogs" was pretty insane, even though I know Les on real life & have spent time just hangin' out with him before and/or after PRIMUS shows. Animals at my show sounded a thousand times better than the "Live Frogs; Set Two" LP, and that's like the biggest fvcking compliment I could give this line-up of Frog Brigade. Harry Waters kinda stole the show there during Animals. That dude made it feel like I was at a proper Pink Floyd show. Sean was great with everything. These guys didn't go on tour just to fvck around, they came out to give the fans something they'll never forget. I'll remember this show (My ATL Show) for the rest of my life. -
@@mercybeats_ Roger was most dominant over the band during this period... so it makes sense his bass playing would dominate the mix! Not for nothing, but he did some great licks on this album!
This is apparently Les's favourite Floyd tune. Back in the early 00s when Jeff Chimenti got brought in to play keys, Les's primary thought was that they'd be able to cover Pigs. Which led to the original round of Frog Brigade covering Animals
There's definitely a Zappa influence in Les and his lead guitarists over the years. His lead guitarist Larry LaLonde would give credit to Zappa as being a big influence on his musicianship during 1990s interviews. Some of Les' recent work is even more brilliant. Definitely a modern day Zappa 👍
One of the greatest bassists EVER. I feel like he doesn't quite the respect he deserves because his music has always been so odd and mischievous, but he is an absolute monster on the instrument. There's nothing he can't do.
@keefriff99 mischievous is the best word I've ever heard to describe his music. Nothing seems to ever fit properly. Thank you; it's what I'm going to use from now on.
Roger Waters is an epic bass player and now Les is totally owning that bass line. Sean doing that crazy voice/guitar synthisier thing is so cool, and his guitar solos are awesome.
It's not that they're creating new music their recreating old music new.... With a splash of claypool and Lennon 🤘. This is the stuff that Legends are made of.
I go between animals and wish you were here as far favorite Floyd album. Depends on the day. Was lucky enough to catch this show twice, Columbus in spring, Cincinnati in fall. Both great.
Wait??? Can I have your records? And a turn table and receiver would be cool. Oh I've got some speakers but the stuff you're giving me will push em I'd take speakers too. That's it man. Unless you have any drugs left over when you shuffle off these mortal coils and join the choir invisibule. In which case I'd be happy to dispose of them for you.
I bought a bootleg Animals on cassette in the summer of 1977 from the night market in Hong Kong, I played both sides endlessly for well over a year and it's still one of my all-time favorite recordings. 1986 I played bass on a bill with Primus in SF and I was so blown away watching Les play bass I almost gave up playing the instrument. Total props to Les for this amazing cover of an amazing song!
this is one of my favorite albums ever... i gravitated to it when i was a teenager in the 90s when it was already years old - whenever i hear songs from it, i'm brought back to then: staying up late, headphones on, usually high on something, drifting, trying to figure out life lol, and it was a warm blanket for my spirit... love this cover...

Reminds me of '87 right after the split I saw both Pink and Roger at the Omni in Atlanta with my best friend and pocket of purple microdot. These guys always amaze with their musicial ability. Ler learned from Joe Satriani I hear.
@@br3wmasterwhen I heard that this version of the Frog Brigade had some Floyd DNA through Harry I was quite thrilled. Harry toured with his father for nearly a decade and knows the Floyd material perfectly as a result.
Dark Side and The Wall get all the attention, the two sandwiched between are their best albums. Animals is a dark album, but England was a dark place in the late 70’s.
I wonder if people realize how much talent is on that stage

What a privilege to be able to live your life in a way that allows you to enjoy such things!
Keep your passion 👍@@shroomshady27
indeed. i want to see them live
I love it when the bass isn't hidden behind all the other instruments.
you cant hide the bass in this song even if you tried. it goes so hard
Pink Floyd had that in spades, for sure!

@@thisisnotachannel Didn't David Gilmour record most bass lines on that album?
Percussion! and timing is exact. The people at this concert looked Absolutely stunned. !
I was there crying I soiled my pants
One of my favorite PF songs, great reproduction Claypools Brigade are as tight as a drum

Les Claypool, musical genius! Modern day Frank Zappa.

No, they aren't even close.
the fact that this audio is fully produced in studio quality gets me excited that they might release a new live frog brigade album
still nothing :(
We must be patient
Still prayin!
Live DVD!? If they makes those anymore…
Les Claypool is nasty on that bass, looking forward to another Primus tour!

What a magnificent tribute 🐷
I am glad Sean has found a musical outlet in which he can be his own person playing with literally a man who has reinvented the rock guitar
Sean Lennon on guitar.
He fucking rules.
And backing vocal. Yoko must have intervened.
Sounds like John's axe
Harry Waters on keys.
Mike Dillon on Vibraphone 🥰🥰🥰
Never realized how much Les sounded like Roger vocally. Holy shit
I heard someone describe Les Claypool's singing as often being like that of a more deranged Roger Waters. It's a very accurate description.
Only Lee plays much better. I mean Roger is an outstanding composer and poet, but when it comes to the battle of the instruments...
Not that similar but I can see what you’re hearing
@@Rabgilisztaright, it’s like comparing McCartney to Geddy Lee
It's the same reason why the Brigade covers a ton of Pink songs: they want to.
I was in a Pink Floyd Tribute Band when my Dad was alive and we played this. Just an awesome cover. Les Claypool is the Man
I saw Pink Floyd live in concert in the 90s on their pig tour in Oakland and it was amazing. But I think less Claypool might do this song better.
gosh i just love a sean lennon tubey mouth guitar solo what can I say
Beautiful, beautiful cover. Les is pure talent

It is great stuff. They also create plenty of new music, more so as The Claypool Lennon Delirium
Animals is in my top 3 favorite albums of all time. Just thought I would share that. Les you have amazed me throughout the years.
Definitely my favorite Floyd album, and the last great Floyd album.
The best pink floyd elbum
I wore out the album. In 1983, Animals was the first CD that I purchased. Still have and sounds great
The compression in the bass is insane!

Also; Rodger Waters is an ass. Slav Ukraini🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Check out his work with the Claypool Lennon Delirium, the album South of Reality is really good.
You should peep the ghost of a saber tooth tiget
Claypool Lennon Delirium is amazing. Imagine Beatles + Piper-Era Floyd.
Primus + Zappa + Floyd = Les Claypool's

Wow!!

I'd love to see Les cover the vocals for "The Trial" from The Wall.

Brilliant stuff. Finally 'Animals' is getting the respect it deserves, and by the master himself.

I will definitely see this show again. Fantastic
Epic.
Hoping the full show is released on DVD/BluRay..
Agreed. With Cage Claypool as head videographer
We moved right before Primus was coming to our area. Still banging my head against a wall.
Classic. Rolls your eyes !
Layers of legendary right there ❤
Music is very fitting today
Glad to see him bringing it light
I so love him
Amazing performance! So sad I missed the show in Massachusetts, thunderstorms and all.
sameee im so sad they didnt come back 😭
I still might try to go to Connecticut…I was soooo bummed that show was cancelled!
I was able to go to the one in Boston because I live just outside of Boston.
Same I was there! Luckily they scheduled some more shows and I’m going back in October!
They more than made up for it at the Oakdale 🐸
