Got my Nick Williams in today. They make the body and the internals are just oem switched into the body. NOT WORTH THE MARK UP….

I was told the Nick Williams company makes the throttle body for the DBW but all the internals are just GM OEM internals. IS THIS TRUE?! Whats to keep me from just running a china one and replacing my internals and smoothing out the AIC holes...CHEAPER ROUTE in my opinion.... This info has come from two other high end respected manufacturers in person. Names not being mentioned due to industry politeness...

You want to gut a chinazon machined piece and put your oem electronics on there? It's worth a shot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We're not going to tell you that you shouldn't experiment and do something on your own. That would be very anti-hot rodder of us, and stuffy corporate talk that we're not fans of.
We will say that Nick Williams does utilize the oem electronics as a base for the controls side, but there's more to them including upgrading the motors so they can handle boost right out of the box. It just makes sense to start from something that works, is readily available, and comes with that OEM level of durability and reliability. Nick Williams stands by their products and offers great support as well which is why we carry them.
Best of luck, happy hot rodding!

@@Sdpartscenter If that's all a Nick Williams is with a little bit of a different IAC path with OEM internals i'd say its worth not spending $750. What about Granatelli? In my opinion paying for function is worth it but a name? No thanks. I wen through this with my drive by cable...
