I am stealing all of this. Thank you SO much!! Especially the Ravisin part. I've been teasing the Ravisin hook for a while and this will be the cherry on top.
That was a great rundown of one town! This will be perfect once you get through all 10! What a valuable resource for anyone running this game! You are truly the Icewind Dale King! O and thanks for the great review of my supplement too!
Glad you enjoyed it, Coach! I'm hoping to make this series a great resource like my DoIP guides... and like your supplement! So I'm happy to include it :)
The Dungeon Coach’s supplement adds awesome realism to the effects of the environment and surrounds of Ten Towns. I’ve yet to begin my campaign but already have a Frost Check macro my players can use in Roll20. Bob’s DM guides and videos are great tweaks and inspiration on how to run the towns and quests
Love the add-on content, especially the Ravisin being a recurring (and hated) enemy. Will be watching more of your videos in advance of my party's adventures.
Bro! Wow. I’m join your PATREON. this was so good. Ty. I am an armature dm trying to run icewind dale for amateur friends. Thanks for spreading the love.
Thank you so much for this also getting that pdf for my extra element effect. My player love this story and whats all around them. With your help, I'm giving them a wonderful time. Ty again
Have been really enjoying your videos! Our group has been running for a while now and alrdy ready to head into chapter 2 and 3. Would love your insight for a smooth transition from chapter 1 to 2 and fun ways to go about planting new quests for the players!
I'm finding that more town quests than I thought have the party potentially traveling through the wilderness where you can insert some of the chapter two encounters, like Bryn Shander, Dougan's Hole, and Targos. It will probably be quite a while before I'm making videos on those chapters though-- still have a lot of towns to get through!
Yo soy una mujer muy pobre que no siempre ha tenido suerte a la hora de jugar a la lotería. Pero un día mi historia pasa a la historia después de encontrar el nombre de este hombre en Internet que es el mejor cuando se trata de ganar la lotería. Oh no! You've been possessed! 😆 Nah but remember, Janth is written to be very eloquent! My players found that very funny because I made all the other kobolds bumbling fools
Lonelywood will be next since my players are there now, and after that they will probably follow the road around Maer Dualdon to Targos (and maybe Bremen), then Bryn Shander and likely to Easthaven. But it's D&D so who knows! :)
Good stuff! Thanks. I was wondering, did you have all of your characters be from Termalaine? If not, were they from other parts of Icewind Dale or all from the south somewhere?
Thanks! 2/3 have been living there for a few years (one hasn't decided his orgin, the other is from the Underdark and that's part of why we chose to start here -- the mine). The third is a triton who came north tracking a precious NPC who's been brought to Icewind Dale by pirates!
Hey Bob! What type of curse would you put on the ring? My player decided to pickpocket the ring and I want the curse to now fall on him as well or at least something slow and mild until they face Ravisine
When running the maps, do you just describe them? I usually run a dry erase battlemap and I just got a starter set of tiles, but building the maps is just not possible. Printing out the maps would reveal too much though right?
There are some player versions of the maps available if you have it on D&D Beyond. That's typically what I've been using because my group is playing online, so I can share the maps and just zoom in to only reveal what they can see. Simple sketches and descriptions should be enough though
How do you feel about the difficulty of A Beautiful Mine for a 1st levl party? I feel like a CR 3 Grell is too strong, but I love Termalaine and really want my party to start there!
I think as long as multiple kobolds help (maybe let each player run a kobold too) and you reduce the grell's HP or have it flee at half HP, it could work, but it can easily down a level 1 character in one attack
This was incredibly fun to run for my players and I almost killed my fiance DND IS GREAT. I figure the inn and tavern could use some extra hands after clearing the mine out...
Danggg haha, I didn't make the kobolds aggressive so my party talked with them, but Smol joined the fight against the grell and ended up getting killed by friendly fire from an Ice Knife spell :/ They're about to meet the awakened berry bush from the Lonelywood quest though, so I think that can make a fun companion!
Thank you! I definitely recommend the "Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master" book which I just added a few days ago. I had my eye on it for a while, finally got it for xmas, and plan on doing a video about it soon because it's full of awesome and simple tips!
And I may as well add that I'm pretty sure you can order and check out ANYTHING after using that link, and I still get a tiny percentage. That's how the old affiliate links worked, not exactly sure if it works that way with the store links too
I like your guide tho i dont agree with plenty. can see you running high fantasy but....... sorry dude rosie & jim or mr tumble the childrens programs are more chilling then you. You just dont set the tone for survival horror

The artic survival house rules aren't showing up on dmsguild for me, did they get taken down?
Same

Im running this campaign soon and this playlist on my overnight shifts is a lifesaver!
Bob my man you are so helpful with these ill love and watch every one of your icewind dale videos as I'm trying to run it for a group
Awesome! Really glad you’re enjoying the series and finding it useful :)
I’m starting a spin off campaign on this book in January, and these videos help sooo much! Thanks a lot
Happy to help :)
Congratulations on 10K!
Thank you so much 😀

Nice ideas here, especially changing the past event to link to the druid
Glad you think so! My players kind of skipped the eastside, but I'm going to try to link it back once they take care of Ravisin!
This is totally and 100% helpful. Thanks again!
Glad to hear it!

Your videos are awesome, I carefully watch them before all of my icewind dale games. Thank you :)
Totally binging these videos
Haha, I can see that now! Thank you for commenting on them :)

"My name Janth" is the first thing I thought of nearing the end of the video. Dammit.
Oh no! You've been possessed! 😆 Nah but remember, Janth is written to be very eloquent! My players found that very funny because I made all the other kobolds bumbling fools
Hi Bob
Sounds like a good series
Thanks, Rivers! :)
BoB
Where did you get the book
"How to write adventure modules that don't suck"
I need that for my shelf
Haha, it's by Goodman Games! I haven't read it all yet myself, but I'm a fan of their modules, and I like the book!
@@BobWorldBuilder interesting
Do you already have an order in mind in which you are going to do the other towns?
Lonelywood will be next since my players are there now, and after that they will probably follow the road around Maer Dualdon to Targos (and maybe Bremen), then Bryn Shander and likely to Easthaven. But it's D&D so who knows! :)

Maybe something simple like the invisible stalker will attack them at some point!

I cant find any stats for the ghost in the book :( It says it tries to posses party members without any indication of how that would work?
Looks like that Arctic Survival House Rules is no longer available.
This was incredibly fun to run for my players and I almost killed my fiance DND IS GREAT.
I figure the inn and tavern could use some extra hands after clearing the mine out...
Hahah glad they're alright! And yeah, my fiance has the same idea for the kobold to take over the abandoned inn in Lonelywood :)
@@BobWorldBuilder RIP Grek and Smol the rest of the boys made it out though. The party didn't even give the lunch boys a chance to run :(
Danggg haha, I didn't make the kobolds aggressive so my party talked with them, but Smol joined the fight against the grell and ended up getting killed by friendly fire from an Ice Knife spell :/ They're about to meet the awakened berry bush from the Lonelywood quest though, so I think that can make a fun companion!
Sounds like a very kool idea of trying to get the kobolds to ally with the party... though my group contains a gnome...
Planning to get something from your amazon store for my RoFM campaign; any recommendations?

@@BobWorldBuilder got it coming Monday. Thank you!
In the town summary for termaline it says Oarus is a scout, however later on page 95 it says he's a veteran. Does anyone know which is correct?

Thanks! Yes, after the horror video early in the series, I ignored adding tips for horror because it's not really my style
