  • The Dendera Temple Complex is located about 2.5 km south-east of Dendera, Egypt. It is one of the best-preserved temple complexes of ancient Egypt. The temple complex at Dendera is quite large, we experienced a basilica, two birth houses, a sacred lake where they would bath prior to entering the temple, and numerous other temples and shrines within its walls We even experienced a Crypt and ancient water source. Structures at the site are from an assortment of different ancient Egyptian eras, with monuments from the Middle Kingdom, the Ptolemaic Era, and the period of Roman provincial rule. You can see where one religious group tried to remove the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, it was sad to see such beauty destroyed.
