I am unbelievably proud of you guys for leaving toxic America to take those beautiful children and raise them in an environment that will give them a different way of life. Excellent!
do try to be realistic about life in ghana. there is a reason why a lot of ghanaians want to bail from ghana. the country has a lot of problems (mostly self inflicted). but the commentator in this video has a good attitude: that being to work through the problems to achieve a goal. that is the kind of positive thinking that sometimes seems to be in short supply among ghanaians. one thing that ghanaians don't seem to have learned in 400 years is to value what they have. with that kind of attitude it can be easy from people from outside of ghana to get the resources of ghana for a fraction of what they are really worth. as i stated, sometimes it seems like ghanaians haven't learned anything from colonialism, which makes me think that there is a risk of the whole thing happening again. if you have been following the discussions over the disastrous "military cooperation" deal that the current ghana government wants to enter with the US, it seems like the modern day equivalent of the "trading post" agreements that chiefs entered with europeans that ultimately lead to slave trade and colonialism. that "military cooperation" agreement is a *grossly* one-sided agreement. fortunately, there have been protests among ghanaians against entry of ghana into this ridiculous agreement.
paper wait I'm realistic about life for blacks in America just as I am about life in Ghana. Understand that it is a reason many of us are returning home too. Realize that we can help one another in building a better community for our people. You can pick and choose your battles, but I can assure you that we won't win on their land. Unity and education sharing is what we as a people must do to rise again. What is the president saying about the military base? I have seen speeches he has given online clearly stating that there will be no military base. Is that not true? Either way, I think the family realizes the position and advantage their children are receiving being raised in Africa. I stand by my initial comment. 😊
just out of curiosity, have you ever been to any country on the continent of africa? if not, i strongly encourage you to do so before you decide to pick up stakes and "return home" (e.g. move to ghana)...and you're going to want to be there for more than one week. there are many good reasons to want to move to ghana. one of the things that i like about the producer of this channel is that he seems to have a very pragmatic view of life in ghana as an expatriate. he seems to be able to like living in ghana without feeling the need to disown connecticut. if you haven't done so already, you should look at the video that was uploaded on this channel previous to this one. there are some very good insights on that video. if you are going to be "returning home", you will have a much better experience if you go there with a plan to do something, or to help address or solve a problem there. you don't want to go there if your primary motivation is to "escape racism" in the US. as to nana akufo addo and the military base; if the "speeches" to which you are referring is the national address that he gave on the topic, that was a careful, lawyerly-worded statement. akufo addo didn't lie, but he didn't tell the truth either...so i found it truly ironic when he ended the speech by saying "truth is sacrosanct", when he had just delivered a speech in which he did no such thing. what akufo addo said in the speech was that the US didn't ask for a military base in ghana. i can believe that statement to be true. but what akufo addo DID NOT say was that the agreement didn't not allow the US to establish a military base in ghana. the careful wording of akufo addo's speech tells me that he knows that that agreement DOES allow the US to establish a military base in ghana. think about it, why would the US need to ask for a military base, if ghana is willing to sign an agreement that lets the US do just that? now, i can believe that defense minister nitiwul believes that the agreement does not allow the US to establish a military base in ghana, but nitiwul is in over his head in his current position as he lacks the competence for the job. but nana akufo addo is not incompetent. nana akufo addo is making a political calculation that if his government doesn't support the agreement that trump will withhold aid money to ghana. as a consequence, the economy in ghana will suffer and the opposition ndc party will seize on that outcome for political advantage in the next election. so, in a since, akufo addo is trading off ghana in exchange for 4 more years of political power. then again, the whole thing might be a charade to give the US the appearance that he is doing all that he can to get the agreement approved. oddly, his administration sent the agreement to parliament for ratification without signing the agreement, even though the ghana constitution requires that the agreement be signed before being submitted to parliament for ratification. the case is not before the ghana supreme court, so maybe akufo addo set it all up so that his administration goes through the motions of supporting the agreement, parliament unconstitutionally ratifies the agreement, and the ghana supreme court voids the agreement. at least then, akufo addo would be able to tell trump that "he (akufo addo) tried". all of this humiliation comes about because ghana has to rely on donor nations for aid money to make its annual budget. when president buhari of nigeria appeared at a rose garden press conference at the white house with trump a little over a month ago, trump was so condescending in his remarks that he did everything short of actually calling president buhari, "boy". if this kind of stuff isn't enough motivation to want ghana (and the continent of africa, in general) to get "beyond aid" (to use the akufo addo phrase), i don't know what is...
Yes, I have visited and yes I see what colonization has done just as you could come to the States or the Caribbean and see what slavery has done. I have tuned in to this family's channel for a while now and have seen the much needed advice on how and what the process should be when one has consideration for moving to Ghana. Please understand that there is much more to the migration of us in the diaspora than "escaping racism" it is about connecting with the culture and the people, literally changing your pace of life from the Westernized lifestyle that was not systematically designed for "us". Avoiding the corruption, influence and interruption westernized society has on your children. Just as African immigrants would have benefits in progressing in the US, we understand our benefits coming to African countries. Again, our struggles are not the same, but unity can benefit us both. There has never been a question of corruption in African leadership, just as there is corruption here and many other countries. Unfortunately, many African American communities have fallen due to the leaders we trust (Mayers, city councils, state representatives, etc.) You unfortunately assumed that one will not research before such a relocation, but you assumed wrong.
Hi family. I watched less television lies nowadays. I am now addicted to black people vlog on UA-cam. I am happy to see black people returning to the mother land Africa without any discrimination legislation and racism legislation. I am enjoying watching my own black brothers and sisters in Africa and the Caribbean. One Love from Jamaica.
I admire how you both following your bliss. Such a satisfying lifestyle. I trust you talked to your little guy about not letting any adults in school touch him. You just gotta prepare n protect kids wherever they are w/o you. PEACE
Thank God for your courage , wisdom, discernment and temperance in obeying the Creator. May the Creator bless you, your family and calling. I pray and hope I will be able to do the same also in His perfect timing. Love you all.
I can't watch your videos when you're out and about without automatically saying to myself watch out for pedofiles, hold on to your purse/wallet so you don't get robbed, have your wife and children inside before dark so they aren't attacked or raped, hold the children's hands so they don't wander off or get taken, lunch - does that mean mcdonalds (yuck!), then I realize you're not in America. So sad these thoughts are hard wired as a result of living in a "civilized" nation. The love, respect and cooperation you show each other is so refreshing. Beautiful images and messages. Thank you.
Lovely family-you're handsome; wife is beautiful. Thanks so much for taking time to educate us (your African American brothers and sisters here in America) about Ghana. And help us gain courage to travel and see the world, especially the Motherland! You really showcase the Motherland in an awesome way. I spend evenings watching your UA-cam channel. You're amazing!
Life can be frustrating in Ghana x Africa but If you're able to survive your first 1-3 years in Ghana you gon make it💰💰🏡 cos of the way you interact with the locals, eat local and explore.. trust me, the locals are watching
Very real. I miss Africa a lot. So I'm glad you guys are bringing it to us. Thank you for doing what you do. And remember.... It gets better. You won't regret your decision to move out there. May God guide your family. Peace, love and palm soup💜
Soon as i saw the restaurant i decided to look them up and call them. Luckily they were only a few blocks over and decided to go have lunch there. Got the same veggie palmnut soup with brown rice. It was lovely and delicious. Thanks for the info brother and I love your commitment to this country and what you do. Keep it up and hopefully we could link up sometime soon.

Thank you for this video. I live in Ghana now and I am adapting more to a plant base lifestyle. I will be trying this spot out. I also went to Jamaica Village because of your video and my babe and I had a wonderful time. Keep it coming. Giving thanks!
I'm loving these videos. It's refreshing to see such young family venturing into a completely different environment & way of living w/o fear or apprehension. And that soup looked Good. 🍲🍲
Yes you guys content is beautiful especially your understanding of the differences we may find I find it very hard personally to watch people's videos who was actually born in Ghana and moved to Europe and then come back. And I like the way you give it a daily Vlog kind of feel to your information is beautiful. It truly inspires me thank you. I always find it fascinating or depressing that we are so interested in African descendants living in Thailand, living in South America, but not in Africa. Even when we look to find out about Africa we look at other people's videos. We can be a strange people globally anyway keep up the good work
Beautiful blessed family! Love this family. You had five kids??? What?? Just wonderful, See when the family unit is right! May God continue to bless you! Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful...this inspires me to take my plant based diet to the next level. Also it makes me more passionate about life in general...i realize that the possibilities are truly endless!
I give you guys 100% for determination and courage! I know how difficult it can be to live in a third world country. But you guys are living in the fourth world. I mean there are serious security and safety issues in Ghana. Plus the economy is in the tank so your have to be self employed. As a foreigner you might want to keep a low profile because the locals will take advantage of you. I wish for you health, safety and God`s speed.

If we Afrikan Americans get together with our Afrikan sisters and brothers, we can start many many businesses and grow together. I've been to Ghana. We really need to do this.
Ghanaian cuisine was originally plant based but because of western influence started to incorporate meat. Meat was a sign of well to do. Now people rich and poor are addicted to it. I enjoyed the vlog 😊

Another great "day in the life" video from you guys! I really appreciate these vids. You're helping many of us 'soon to be expats' envision our new life back home on the continent. -- Really loved that furniture shop! - as well as PBF restaurant! -- Blessings and please keep up the good work!
Found your videos a few days ago they are very interesting. Lots of good advice about moving and living in Ghana. Most of your videos I have seen are 3 years old. Where are you now any new updates?
I currently live in New York city...I'm so jealous watching u guys eating that good food & enjoying my continent I can't wait to come home some day in the future......
Thank you for sharing. I know a group of people visiting Ghana in October who would love to visit PBF. After watching your videos I am more determined to visit Ghana very soon. Please can you provide info about the best places to stay and what to expect? Also is there anything that you think you could bring to Ghana from America in terms of business or services that would benefit the community? Thanks again will be sharing your videos keep them coming.
Peace to the family. Thanks for this video because my family in Ghana could not show me any healthy spots. Where is that Vodafone spot? I don't really like the spot on Nsawam Road.
