Thanx Stan! That thing looks like a GREAT plow, in the fact that it seems to cut that ice like nobody's business and drives well. I guess next I would like to see how it wears over time.
I love how you’re just hard on your stuff. Anything you use that makes it in more than one video has to be worth it’s salt! The way you were rubbing the concrete under the hard pack so vigorously with your glove even. Absolute legend keep it up.
I really appreciate your videos on equipment and techniques. You always go into great detail explaining everything. When I was a kid on the ranch, I was just told which levers did what on our trackloader. I figured out my own techniques. I've never known anyone who explained or showed someone how to correctly operate heavy equipment. Keep up the great work
They're a little too heavy for a light duty truck. Even a light duty 10ft sectional clocks in at around 1800 lbs. You can put wings on a standard straight blade and have essentially the same thing.
Stan, I noticed the wings fold back when you hit a large pile is there a way of setting the resistance of hydraulics so as not to have the wings fold back.
@@Dirtmonkey thank you for answering my question, I am a Fisher guy but that plow looks extremely well built I am thinking about purchasing one to put on one of my one tons . Liked that you checked engine temp👍 I only have a small 98 s10 blazer with a Meyer 6.5' but noticed outside temp rising from 5f to 46 during transport between my properties, outside sensor placed behind the grille, definitely proof of blade creating vacuum! Engine temp still at a steady 195 though...
I have a boss I installed myself. Wiring was easy, and the was no frame drilling, but I don’t like the low ground clearance when not plowing. I will never hit my rear differential with it installed, but the fisher plates I removed gave way more clearance. I like the plow featured. Except it doesn’t seem to stack snow. I have only had one storm i used the v as a v to break through shush piles that turned to ice while pushing. My transmission runs 150, it doesn’t overheat even with the plow, but my water temp will get high at idle. I click to manual and drop it down a gear and it comes right back down. That’s a new issue with an orielly water pump and thermostat. 08 2500hd
I had to do the same thing with my Hiniker. It habitually overheated my transmission while driving so I shifted down a gear and ran the plow super low. This snopower doesn’t give me those problems
That plow definitely has it own unique look and it looks great! Its a easy and neat set up.. it does show a lot of potential but those wing cylinders seem a little weak. If the wing kept folding trying to cut the bank... it makes me wonder about heavy wet snow.
@@Dirtmonkey Definitely a bonus and I'm glad to hear that. Looking forward to seeing you have some fun with it next season. Mite have to try and be the 1st guy in canada with one lol

Man, I spent a lot of Friday and Saturday nights in the bar on the west end of that abandoned mall back in the late 1990s. Lol. Fun place back then. It's a shame to see it abandoned like that. Interesting plow, Stan. Was it just me, or did the wings seem like they wanted to fold back pretty easily?
The wings can be adjusted to hold better. And yep I hung out at Jose’s and moose country back in the day. The owner WAS not a good guy though. I liked the place but not the person.
@@Dirtmonkey It was mostly moose country for me. I did NOT know that about the owner..... in fact, I didn't know the owner at all. We've probably drank beer near each other and don't even know it. lol. Thanks, Stan!
Hey I’ve watched several other videos on this plow. Also installed plenty of plow wiring back in the day. In my opinion plows should be on separate and own wiring. But now they have plow prep wiring on new trucks. It helps lockup these new 8-10 speed trans from shifting into a gear not good for plowing . I see those guys didn’t use a lift . Pretty much on the ground level with cardboard like the hard working homeowner mechanic.
What I find interesting is there seems to be no angling the plow left or right it’s all in the wings, you wouldn’t think you be able to really project the snow one way without angling but that actually works great

So far I’ve used this for a few months with no issues of any kind.
Hey Stan when they were talking about adjusting the plow. Do you need to adjust ever time you are loaded and half loaded . Truck squats at different points?
I guess that depends on how picky you are
@@Dirtmonkey I’m not picky at all haha but I do like that plow. We run westerns and love them but that f 12 looks pretty sweet. So onece you set it your good to go with being loaded and un loaded?
Thank you for the video Stan, what is better, this or Artic 12 feet?
curious what the temperature was when filming? When we hit temps below -20°C (-4°F) even our loader has a hard time scraping that hard pack down. We have a lot of those days.
