Just a Question regarding the Breakouts - do you know what triggers them or are they completely at random? I figured that young players (25 or younger) get a breakout opportunity almost everytime they slide in the lineup due to injury. Especially when they trigger the "unhappy with his role" conversation in the first week they are set to start.
@@B92LG those aren't as definitive. There is a random element to them, but it helps for players to have a really solid game to help trigger one. Age is a factor though. If they're over 26 they have a significantly less likely chance of getting one.
Ljloving 424 yeah man, it was nuts, i’d never seen something like that. they did have all 5 linemen that were 95+ and all run blockers, but it was still insanely unrealistic
That BS that you can’t level up a offensive lineman especially when they have all these crazy ass Dlinemen. Getting 35 sacks a year in franchise modes. EA needs to patch it & add a counterattack. Only fair
I'm not entirely sure but I have developed three corners from star to superstar and it happened when they got multiple interceptions and TFL's (or one of each) in one or two games in a row and then the challenge would show up. However I have never received the X factor development challenge. I did this in August of 2020 IDK if there has been some sort of update that has changed anything
TEs are glitched. They were glitched last year. It's the only non reliable one on the list and I can't confirm why that is. I just know from people's comments over the last two years since I started making the guide that they are glitched.
I had Evan engram finish with over 4000 (4K!!!) receiving yards and 29 touchdowns one season. Both #1 in the league of course and he finished second behind his quarterback in mvp and opoy voting and he stayed a star. Definitely a glitch to have the greatest season by a pass catcher in nfl history and not go up in development. Not really a big deal tho since he’s a 90 overall regardless of dev trait and already plays like an x-factor just without the X below him during games.
This worked I destroyed all the passing records and in the super bowl deshawn Watson was absolutely amazing with an X factor and my receiver gained superstar abilities
How can I get my rookies with the blue hidden development trait on the field? Even though I put them first in depth chart the computer automatically plays players with better OVR...help
Is it total tackles or solo tackles that are counted? Reason I ask is because when you look at a player's card after a game where he has 10 tackles but all were assisted you will be negative morale for having 0 tackles.

Now here we are with season 4 coming to an end. He’s now a Superstar X-Factor but he finished the season 4th places in pass deflections, 17th in tackles, and 138th in tackles for loss. So basically he got an upgrade by being 4th place in only one category (pass deflections)... but I believe the reason could be that he made his second Pro Bowl.

James Ellis i think you have to get certain stats, but i don’t think it will trigger 100 percent of the time. So if you get 200 rushing yards with jordan howard, he might have a 50 percent chance of having the scenario trigger

iceman4311 I moved miles Boykin to Tight end in a franchise so he could be a wide receiver on all spread tight end sets and he went up to superstar through back to back scenarios and he was 1st in yards and td’s and started season 2 with X-factor, sams happened with AJ brown in a separate franchise where he went from normal to x-factor by the start of year 2
I have a CB that won best DB, broke the record for Interceptions in a season, lead the league in Ints and went to the pro bowl. Yet didn’t receive a development upgrade at the end of the year...
Ty Harris I had two corners that were one and two for interceptions and they also had couple sacks and tfls for some icing on top and they don’t even make the pro bowl because they only get like 30 tackles
Actually this in incorrect. You can level multiple Dev traits in a single season by paying attention to break out players. While playing franchise if player has a couple outstanding games in a row they will get break out status, if you have another outstanding game while they have break out status you will level Dev traits. Also if you have hidden Dev it is possible to get X-factor on that player regardless of their Dev trait being star or superstar. If you finish #1 in your position with an outstanding season you will get X-factor even if their hidden Dev trait was supposed to be star.
I had a rookie corner lead the league in pass deflections score 5 tds get 7 picks 2 sacks forced a fumble 95 tackles (5 for loss) DROY DB of the year and didn’t go up in dev
I have never seen when the new dev trait increases. Is it going into pro bowl, super bowl or start of the offseason? Does it work if you change a players position the week before that week?
Didn't work for me though. My created QB got MVP and OPOY and won the Super Bowl and still is only at Normal Development. It's probably because my passing yards were low because I scramble like a big dog.
If you win MVP I think you get X-Factor, if you win RB Of the year you go from normal to Superstar, and the two best receivers get to Superstar too. In my FOTF, Lindsay, Sanders, and Sutton all become Superstars at the end of the year.
*yooo* so i noticed that around the 6th, 7th season i lose the superstar development trait, and the majority of my other traits. this happens on every player i’ve created. P.S. i noticed it’s not performance based bc i won mvp and opoy
What I do in my franchise is who ever gets MVP gets Super Star X Factor, if they already have x factor I raise their stats by 10. Who ever leads in each stat (TD, INT, FF, TKLS etc.) They get Super Star if they already are Super Star they get 5 stats in what ever suits what they lead in (CTHS they get + 5 catch, TKLS they get + 5 tackling... etc.) Off Player and Def Player of the year gets Star Dev, if they already got it they get +5 stat in what ever will help them in the position they play. (LBs get +5 tackel, WR +5 catching etc.) And Rookie Player of OFF and DEF are the same just the OFF player and DEF Player of the year.
@@sawyerwebster7971 Makes the game more fun to me and more challenging. Nothing like two X factor QBs going at it in a shoot out. Then a different game it's two X factor CBs trying to see who can get more ints in the game After that X factor RBs trying to out rush each other. It's really fun. having like 2/3s of the league be 70-80 and then 1/3 be 85-90+ is boring to me, same team winning every year in my franchise if I don't do that. but having 2/3 being 80-85 and 1/3 85-99 there's more chance of closer games, teams that you'd wouldn't expect. Like last night my team was 12-4 on the season and we made it to the Superbowl and went up against a team that went 8-8 it was a close game 20-17. They had a crazy ass defense, and my team was more balanced on both sides.
Akash Pratap idk if it works in 20 but you used to be able to set your te to wr 3 or 4 in the depth chart so even in sets where the te was replaced by a wr he’d just be replacing himself. From what I understand 20 actually has a position called “slot” so it might be impossible now.
You have to get lucky in the draft, your best bet is to either get one with a 1st round grade that's projected to go early in the 1st round or ID a draft steal in the later rounds. Those guys usually come with a star dev trait but I've personally never drafted a OL with anything higher than a Star dev trait and I'm in like year 2028
@@sawyerwebster7971 you always get those challenges to get a player a certain amount of stats to upgrade his development trait, so that's probably how it was done.
In my bills franchise, Tremaine Edmunds won DPOY and didn’t upgrade. Then two years later, he had over 150 tackles, 22 TFL’s, 4.5 Sacks, 6 INT’s, 8 FF’s, 2 FR’s, 3 Defensive TD’s, 1 Safety, and played all 16 games. This would be BY FAR the best statistical season for any defensive player in league history (arguably the best season offense or defense). Yet he STILL didn’t even get Superstar dev despite playing significantly better than all of the X-Factors
So basically, this video is inaccurate, and the dev upgrade system is broken. Also, it’s retarded that O-Lineman can’t get better dev. It takes almost no effort for EA to add that in, so it makes me angry that they simply don’t care about making a good game for a change
Brendon Buffaloe first of all, it’s the pro bowl or having mvp award that does this, stats don’t matter because of causal players having ez games. Second of all, with the 3x factor on offense and 3 on defense, It’s no wonder why kickers/linemen don’t get X factors, they would be too ez or hard to activate and it would be a waste of coding as nobody would use them. :/ Lastly, linemen don’t have good stats that will let them grow. :/ Try thinking next time
What? Its like I gotta do a whole math equation to level up. Carry the X, divide by passing yards, multiply by passing TD’s and subtract by player age. Madden made this way to complicated.
Wtf? This is like the easiest, cheapest way madden could have made lol. You have to compare your players stats in like 2 or 3 categories and thats it. It's incredibly stupid yes, but it isn't hard at all lol
Only 3 would be able to use their zone abilities because each team allows for 3 on each side of the ball, all wouldn't have their superstar abilities tho
This is not accurate at all. I am in my 1st season in my online franchise with the Giants. I am the QB, in Player Only Mode, my top two WRs, Tate and Shepard, got injured. In the second game starting Cody Latimer informed me he was ready to take over and the game gave the goal of getting him 2 tds or 100 yds rec to get him to gain in Dev Trait. He had played 5 of 7 games so before midseason my 3rd string WR with 0 starts gained a Dev Trait avging 2 catches and less than 50 yds with 2 total tds.
You just gotta switch the players pos then change it back. And it changes based on the players archetype ovr so dont expect qbs like brady or brees to get scrambler abilities
Solid vid. Dev system is typical lazy effort by EA. Had Savage win DBOY and lead league in ints, no dev increase at all. Only EA would value deflections over ints.
Michael Eaden II same here..I’ll have a corner that’s a 92 at the end of the season and by the start of the next he drops to an 88...does it every season
The dev. chart is correct. I had Shaquill Griffin he had 85 Solo tackles 1st in CB’s, 95 Total tackles 9th in CB’s, and 6 Defl. 15th in CB’s = 8 went from Superstar to X-Factor. Also look at some LB’s and it was counting the Solo tackles and Total tackles. The tackles, tackles are correct for MLB, OLB and DB’s.
Wow this is bs i was wondering how my CB couldnt get a ability and i played 3 years leading the nfl with 15 picks and 77 tackles but only 2 deflections i should just make another position
I’m honestly not sure how to get certain Superstar traits. I think some are locked behind player archetypes, and depending on what type of scheme fit you are you randomly get a certain number of superstar abilities from that scheme pool. I believe “hot route master” is considered a “field general” superstar ability
Trust me, I tried to make the most OP QB in the game. Some combination of Run&Gun X-Factor and five of the following abilities: hot route master, escape artist, protected, conductor, clutch, agile extender, last ditch, sideline Deadeye. Unfortunately, the game makes it nearly impossible to get all of these on the same QB...
I got DB of the year and broke the interception record with Bradley Roby. He didn't even upgrade the next season in this broken game. Also my LB of the year player didn't upgrade either😒😒

Yes but kinda rare, if they have a good game.
Just to be clear, you don't need a hidden dev trait to become an x factor correct?
No that’s just something else. To get X factor you first have to become a superstar. To become a superstar you must be a star
Is this the same for madden 21?
Does this still apply in madden 23
What is the best method for upgrading your offensive line if they don’t get dev trait upgrades
StrongLikeSheep draft them or find and trade for them
How do you get gunslinger trait for your qb
Plz answer this ! Do we have to play or sim?
You can jump 2 traits especially if you get scenario. Miles Boyken jumped 2 for me
iceman4311 I moved miles Boykin to Tight end in a franchise so he could be a wide receiver on all spread tight end sets and he went up to superstar through back to back scenarios and he was 1st in yards and td’s and started season 2 with X-factor, sams happened with AJ brown in a separate franchise where he went from normal to x-factor by the start of year 2
I have a CB that won best DB, broke the record for Interceptions in a season, lead the league in Ints and went to the pro bowl. Yet didn’t receive a development upgrade at the end of the year...
Ty Harris I had two corners that were one and two for interceptions and they also had couple sacks and tfls for some icing on top and they don’t even make the pro bowl because they only get like 30 tackles
Do overalls go up after the season
To ?
Actually this in incorrect. You can level multiple Dev traits in a single season by paying attention to break out players. While playing franchise if player has a couple outstanding games in a row they will get break out status, if you have another outstanding game while they have break out status you will level Dev traits. Also if you have hidden Dev it is possible to get X-factor on that player regardless of their Dev trait being star or superstar. If you finish #1 in your position with an outstanding season you will get X-factor even if their hidden Dev trait was supposed to be star.
Can you please do this for madden 21?
It’s the same
So if i get most rushing yards and tds with kyler i will get superstar and up
Have th dbs been fixed yet
1:21 Just drafted a 55 overall (hidden trait) Center last night lol. Of Course he's starting, hope he's a superstar 😆
Scooter Kelly just hit edit player and you can see what it’ll be
@@mj-zo4et . Nice
@@mj-zo4et it’s just always star you don’t have to check (as long as you start them I think)
Can you get a dev-up challenge when you have a rookie who still has a hidden development trait?
Yeah you can
I had a rookie corner lead the league in pass deflections score 5 tds get 7 picks 2 sacks forced a fumble 95 tackles (5 for loss) DROY DB of the year and didn’t go up in dev
I have never seen when the new dev trait increases. Is it going into pro bowl, super bowl or start of the offseason? Does it work if you change a players position the week before that week?
It’s at random lol
Didn't work for me though. My created QB got MVP and OPOY and won the Super Bowl and still is only at Normal Development. It's probably because my passing yards were low because I scramble like a big dog.
How do I give other teams dev traits if I’m the franchise commish
Tyler Myers edit player and change their dev trait
I had a TE Even Engram is a Star and he was 1sr in catches touchdowns and yards in the league but didn’t get a dev upgrade
Does the devs work against opponent CPU?
Can you find out how to do this with a kick returner?
If you win MVP I think you get X-Factor, if you win RB Of the year you go from normal to Superstar, and the two best receivers get to Superstar too. In my FOTF, Lindsay, Sanders, and Sutton all become Superstars at the end of the year.
Who do you think will be the Madden 2021 Cover art Christian Mccaf or Lamar Jackson?
Jackson for sure
I think it’s gonna be Lamar
What about FB???
I’m on week 5 and after my game Tarik Cohen went from superstar to superstar X factor
Nice I was wondering if players can get to x factor status
Can FB's get dev?
TheKid LovesBall Yea
*yooo* so i noticed that around the 6th, 7th season i lose the superstar development trait, and the majority of my other traits. this happens on every player i’ve created. P.S. i noticed it’s not performance based bc i won mvp and opoy
Willie Snead- no, a Ravens reciever with over 1000 rec yards? Thats weird.
Are we gonna ignore the fact that the Browns had the top 2 rushing TD leaders? Chubb had 18 and Hunt had 16
What I do in my franchise is who ever gets MVP gets Super Star X Factor, if they already have x factor I raise their stats by 10.
Who ever leads in each stat (TD, INT, FF, TKLS etc.) They get Super Star if they already are Super Star they get 5 stats in what ever suits what they lead in (CTHS they get + 5 catch, TKLS they get + 5 tackling... etc.)
Off Player and Def Player of the year gets Star Dev, if they already got it they get +5 stat in what ever will help them in the position they play. (LBs get +5 tackel, WR +5 catching etc.)
And Rookie Player of OFF and DEF are the same just the OFF player and DEF Player of the year.
That sounds fun, X factor with likely near max stats
@@sawyerwebster7971 Makes the game more fun to me and more challenging. Nothing like two X factor QBs going at it in a shoot out.
Then a different game it's two X factor CBs trying to see who can get more ints in the game
After that X factor RBs trying to out rush each other.
Like last night my team was 12-4 on the season and we made it to the Superbowl and went up against a team that went 8-8
it was a close game 20-17. They had a crazy ass defense, and my team was more balanced on both sides.
Nickel Gaming just seems like the process would be repeated
Good content great video
13 years in my franchise and i only drafted 1 superstar LT , in my last draft drafted my 1st xfactor olb .
I have a question playing with X factors off does that change the game play
Can you do a Scheme/Playbook Guide
My LB has won DPOY and Best LB back to back yrs and still won't go Xfactor....Madden definitely should fix that, DPOY automatic Xfactor
game hack moove your wr to te week 17 so they can qualify easier
Does it work?
Or play your te in the slot so he is always on the field
@@Templesdarkest how do you that
Akash Pratap idk if it works in 20 but you used to be able to set your te to wr 3 or 4 in the depth chart so even in sets where the te was replaced by a wr he’d just be replacing himself. From what I understand 20 actually has a position called “slot” so it might be impossible now.
@@Templesdarkest u can put a tight end as slot receiver
Why my Matt Judon get over 50sacks in a season and NO DEV TRAIT Wtf
What about offensive linemen
You have to get lucky in the draft, your best bet is to either get one with a 1st round grade that's projected to go early in the 1st round or ID a draft steal in the later rounds. Those guys usually come with a star dev trait but I've personally never drafted a OL with anything higher than a Star dev trait and I'm in like year 2028
I got Zay Jones go from a normal trait to a Superstar trait in the same season and the seasons not over
Jdatb0y36 dev traits update at the SB. Don’t know how you did that
Edit - forgot about scenarios
@@sawyerwebster7971 you always get those challenges to get a player a certain amount of stats to upgrade his development trait, so that's probably how it was done.
Or if youre carson wentz in my franchise you get opoy mvp lead the league in yards and still dont get a dev upgrade 😂
2x OPOY Kyler Murray still sitting at star dev. You hate to see it.
Same here
In my bills franchise, Tremaine Edmunds won DPOY and didn’t upgrade.
:/ Try thinking next time
Do qbs have scenarios throughout the year
Nope smh them and oline only ones that dont get it. Kickers too
What? Its like I gotta do a whole math equation to level up.
Carry the X, divide by passing yards, multiply by passing TD’s and subtract by player age.
Madden made this way to complicated.
You forgot to add the players number at the end 😂
Wtf? This is like the easiest, cheapest way madden could have made lol. You have to compare your players stats in like 2 or 3 categories and thats it.
It's incredibly stupid yes, but it isn't hard at all lol
Bro you're over complicating it, 1st In tackles 3rd in deflections. 1+3=4. find the average 4/2= 2nd place
Video idea.. what would happen if every starter on every team had Superstar X Factor
Lol thats a dynamic dev trait challenge, has 0 to do with this. This is end of the season upgrades
Make a video on how to change X factors
You just gotta switch the players pos then change it back. And it changes based on the players archetype ovr so dont expect qbs like brady or brees to get scrambler abilities
Solid vid. Dev system is typical lazy effort by EA. Had Savage win DBOY and lead league in ints, no dev increase at all. Only EA would value deflections over ints.
Darnell just finished my season with 15 picks but only 4 deflections....
Best game
Technically there are 2 DBs of the year right? Because they split them up by conference?
I have won DB of the year with a db on my team for like 4 or 5 seasons and haven't gotten a dev increase
Michael Eaden II same here..I’ll have a corner that’s a 92 at the end of the season and by the start of the next he drops to an 88...does it every season
@@DragzFire same I had 13 picks with tre waynes Vikings and nothing happened didn't even go up in overall
Denzel Washington picks don’t matter for DBs deflections and tackles it sucks unless you get them to come talk to you mid-season
The dev. chart is correct.
Its all about stats and Super Bowl wins
How the HECK do I get "Hot Route Master" on my SS Lamar Jackson in year 3 he was MVP!!!!?
5 games to get Matt berida to superstar
C4 is a handsome man
I've had both Josh Jacobs and Derek Carr become X factors in 1 season, neither were superstars when it happened
how? i took a few years off from this game so i'm a little lost
@@siscosilva1 I think going and winning the superbowl that year helped me develop them
I think all/most rookies should have a hidden dev trait for the first season.
What sucks is when you are playing with 10 other people -_-
How the FUCK did the Browns get 34+ rushing TDs in one season?? Madden sim on some crazy shit
I got DB of the year and broke the interception record with Bradley Roby. He didn't even upgrade the next season in this broken game.
Also my LB of the year player didn't upgrade either😒😒
IDK why EA makes this so complicated.
