The worst manager I ever had was at Domino's Pizza. I have chronic pain and I had never worked in the food industry in my life, I was just a teenager at the time. Instead of training me, they just expected me to know how to make every pizza because I said I had eaten Domino's before and when I kept asking questions because I knew nothing, they put me on washing up duty. That then made my chronic pain worse because it flares up from me standing still for a long period of time and these were eight hour shifts of me just washing Tupperware and pizza pans. I would walk home in tears from the agony I felt, barely able to breathe through it and my manager did nothing to help me despite putting out the appearance that they cared. It eventually got to the stage where I knew I had to quit and I felt such guilt for needing to quit for my own wellbeing, thinking that I was leaving them high and dry a team member down... they literally just said 'OK' and hung up the phone when I quit and I never heard from them again.

For the advice, I married someone exactly like that. I made it clear that marrying would not change my mind but I think somehow they think it will. She just needs to be clear that the more he bugs the more he is pushing you back. It worked for me, he would want me to go to church and I said I will go when I feel like it the more he insists the less probability that I’ll go. I don’t care if he prays for me it doesn’t bug me as long as he doesn’t pushes it. Been with him for 11 years and it works for me but it’s all about being straight up and clear.
