What sold? Colorful glassware! What’s your last colored glassware sale? Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing. Vickie & Mark ~ Avante Avenue
You are a wizard at packing. Enjoy just watching your creative skills.
Thank you Terry! I try. There’s no doubt a hundred ways to pack the same thing. I simply share how I pack.
Love this video! Educational and creative. Vickie is the Bob Ross of shipping! 🎨 📦 Fun and relaxing to watch. 🧘🏻♀️
Hum. Does that mean I need to wear a Bob Ross wig when I pack? Lol. Thank you Poppy!
You are the queen of packing fragile items. I just love your videos and how you share your finds and packing them up for shipment. Thank you Mark and Vickie!
Thank you!
I bow down to your mastery and wizardry on resizing boxes!
So kind of you! Thank you Marcia!
I enjoy all your videos - woohoo to Mark for all the great finds. Can't wait til your next installment!
I’ll let Mark know! Thank you!
wow fire n light whoooooonhoo,,
Thank you Thomas!
Wonderful video! Takes away the anxiety of shipping breakables! Thanks!
Thank you Beverly!
the more packing supplies you use the more money you are spending and you also need to think about the time involved with packing. time is money
I buy my supplies in volume. My average cost of materials for packing dishes used to be $1-2. I use mostly ebay boxes (free with coupon), or Priority, it’s less. If you buy in volume and shop your prices (not local retail stores), materials are not very much per sale. And, we make our own air pillows.
It looks like a lot but the cost is nominal.
As to time? It takes less time to pack well than to file a claim for damage because it wasn’t packed well enough. I’m a fast packer. It’s making videos to share to help you and other resellers that slows me down. Lol. But, I do it to help.
You remind me of me regarding packing and shipping breakables. I’m glad I’m not the only one. I missed when you paused making videos and glad you are back.
I’ve never actually paused more than a week or two. For several months now and going forward, I upload videos the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of the month with occasional videos on random days.
I do know that unless viewers are subscribed AND ring the notification bell, UA-cam will stop showing videos in their feed if they have skipped watching a few.
Yes, pack breakables well. Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you so much! 🙂
Great video! Hi! A hunk of glass worth that much…wow!
Thank you Veronica!
You are a magician when it comes to reconfiguring boxes!
Thank you Maxine!
❤
Thank you!
Loved seeing the packing. As I try to stay away from glass.
I started making videos to share “getting over my fear of packing glass.” lol. Thanks!
I ship a lot of breakables. I just sent out a Longeberger plate set and mug.. I love buying these items..the ROI is much better than clothing
I agree with you. Amber! We can make more profit on hard goods vs. most clothing. Thanks!
Somehow I got unsubscribed. Miss you. Always a great show.
Glad you’re back! Thank you!
Nice! Thank you.
Thank you!
Love your ship videos. Wow, Mark scored on the Waterford rose and Fire and Ice bowl.
Yes he did! Thank you Maggie!
Always something new to learn about. I tend to pass on glassware, but will be looking for Waterford.
Yes! Thank you!
Love these videos!
Thank you Shelia!
Masterclass in packing! Your videos have made my packing skills so much better. I actually look forward to packing now, and find myself asking, "How would Vickie pack this?"
I love hearing that my videos have helped! Thank you Emily!
like your packing techniques could you show us all your packing tools cutters etc..
Actually, in the description box below the video, you will find a list of my most basic tools for packing and shipping. I no longer recommend a specific Bubble Wrap supplier because they change their prices all too often. Hope that helps and thank you, Kim.
Selling the rose for the price offered probably changed the luck. I bet it was a Mothers Day gift. The box modification was magic. I shall keep the video so I can practice.
The comps were from this week and they’re still selling for good prices. Thanks Wendy!
I have never found fire & light here in CT, but I remain hopeful 😂. I sell a lot of colored glass but mostly in my booth now because I just don't want to ship it as often. I will leave glass in my booth for a year, then list it.
It was our first. Sounds like you have a good plan in place for your glassware. Thank you!
New to the channel this video had some great information especially for making a box
Thank you and welcome to the channel! Be sure to check out my playlists because I have many pack and ship videos all types of things.
Shockingly, a lot of sellers believe the auctions are the way to go yet. They probably sold back in the day and then started again and not realizing, researching, or reviewing sellers about auction vs BIN.
It is great for a buyer, who may be able to catch an item for cheap. Not great for a seller because people usually don't want to wait for auctions to end and will go to a sooner than later buy.
Very possibly. Thanks Paula!
Great sales! Love the fire and light. Thanks for sharing Vickie andcMark.
Thank you Diane!
Fire and Light, Glassy baby are on my Bolo list. Good to see you!
GB on our list too! Thanks Lisa!
I absolutely LOVE your videos and especially the ones like this one where you show your shipping process in detail. I am always glued to my computer screen soaking it all in as a newbie reseller. One thing that I would be interested in seeing is if your actual shipping costs match up to what you charged for shipping. In my mind, watching you pack those boxes with all that packing materials, I can't help but think you are paying more for shipping than what you are charging the buyer. Maybe in some future videos you can tell us the actual shipping for each item, I would love to see the comparison. Love your channel!
Thank you Melissa! You might find this video helpful (I have a shipping rule set up now for two options (PR or Ground)

I weigh everything at time of listing and account for the box and packing materials then. This video will help explain.
I use bubble wrap over paper (most of the time) because it weighs less than paper. Air pillows are extremely light too.
I can’t say I’ve never been short but it’s very rare…once maybe a year (Mark just said or less as it’s so rare). He prints the labels. Experience and being accurate at time of listing is what prevents postage shortages. I round up to the nearest pound the weight of item itself at time of listing and add no less than 1 pound up to 2 pounds (more if it needs double boxing). As to my materials, I buy in large volume to get the best (lowest price). My costs per package is usually $2 on average for larger packages. Less for small packages. We do not pass on our shipping discount and have “extra” funds to use towards fees and packing materials.
I appreciate your suggestion and I believe I’ve done that in some of my videos before but these type of videos require editing down a tremendous amount of video (plus ebay sold comps screen record). This one had nearly two hours of video that I edited down to 50+ minutes. Not an easy task.
I have 3 days into making this one video because editing to remove pauses, round two of packing the additional items etc require that each second be addressed. So, I hope you understand that it’s another step that is just hard to work in. I’m trying to get the sales packed and off to Mark so we can get out the door. I do the best I can.
Thank you!
@@AvanteAvenue Yes I completely understand and I will go check out the video you suggested. Thank You!
Just curious about why you use masking tape instead of clear packaging tape for wrapping the items. I'm sure it will make perfect sense to me once you explain. You are after all the master packer!!
Masking tape is soooo much cheaper than packing tape. I have two dispensers. One for masking and one for packing/shipping tape. You can find the links below the video and compare the cost per foot. It also makes it easier for the buyer to see to open. Thanks for asking Carol!
Love when you make these videos! I’m a mainly glass/breakables seller too - it’s just what I love. Learning to pack things safely was definitely nerve wracking for a long time. Now I love taking the time doing it, it’s oddly relaxing.
My last good colored glass sale was some Pioneer Woman goblets. Some of her stuff sells decently, even though it’s modern.
I’m with you, I love glass too! I always have. And, love that you love these type of videos! I picked up some Pioneer Woman here and there and have sold some. Woohoo for you for your sale!
Wonderful video!! The Fire & Light bowl is beautiful!! I found F&L here in my small city a few years ago at an antique mall!! I couldn’t believe I found it in college town Oklahoma!! It was a green shooting star paperweight. I paid less than $7 and sold it for $110!! Hope you and Mark are doing well!! Have a wonderful day!!
~Tammy
Woohoo for you! Would love to find paperweights! Thank you Tammy!
I live in Pigeon Forge. Starting selling on eBay the first of January. I get scared when I find that something is worth over 150.00 I recently found an Art Deco sea shell from a French designer from Nice, France. It is for sale from France reseller along with other art deco designer pieces for 209.00. I have sold sea shell dishes from 20 to 50. You video just showed me I will probably have to wait for the right buyer to come along. I guess I have rather not find things will higher values. Am I crazy?
All you have to do is require signature on delivery and insure it. We use pirate ship and insurance is cheap. One thing to pack vs dozens of smalls. Thanks Terry!
Have you ever bought or made cardboard dividers for glasses like they would have if you bought a set in a store?
I’ve never purchased cardboard dividers per se, but I have definitely made some. For the most part though, I just fit multiple items in a box with air pillows or bubble wrap to divide it. Mostly due to limited space. Thanks!
Was wondering if you have a link for the hand held box resizing tool you used in this video?
Love your channel. I learn a lot. Thank you.😊
Yes, you’ll find links for my pack and ship tools below the video. It’s in the description box under show more. Thank you!
How do you know what to charge for shipping when you don’t know what size box it will require and the weight like this Waterford Rose??
I weigh everything at the time I’m listing. You might find this video helpful that I made.

I think close to Mother’s Day would raise the sale price.
Very possibly. Thanks Carol!
