Jut got my Yow! one thing with the Yow: you can lock the swivel mechanism on the front truck, thus turning the Yow into a normal cruzer. Really handy for beginners or just for well cruzing!
OP ROYALE - oh yeh you can tighten both the normal part of the truck and also lock the pivot part so it’s more of a normal cruiser. I say keep it loosey goosey though for surfboard carves. 🤙🏻
I know the yow boards have a locking mechanic to make it a cruiser, how good is the locking mechanic? I heard that it's still pretty loose after the lock.
You can't go wrong with Yow or Smooth Star. Depending on your height and weight, would just mean a slightly wider/narrower deck and longer/shorter wheelbase. Both brands have good options!
In our opinion, it is definitely on par with a Smoothstar 34 filipe toledo #77 (which is a wicked board!), it's cheaper too. We've not yet tested a Carver, but from what we've heard, you'll get tighter turns out of the Smoothstar and the Yow. I wouldn't be bombing hills on it, but you can definitely carve your way down. Hope this helps.
I have a Sixty-Six Fish, SS #77, Yow Fistral and Carver Swallow CX. Swapped the CX for C7 and waiting for the rain to stop to see if it improves the Carver. SS and Yow are fantastic. Both very enjoyable boards. Yow a touch more lose and technical IMHO. Different wheels to the SS and pipe as well. Sixty-Six is also a really enjoyable board, same length as Carver. High hopes for the C7 trucks otherwise it’s going on eBay.
@@driifttv894 if it the trucks can turn in 285° radius cause I tested the carver turns vs the smoothstar, for carver it turns in 245° while the smoothstar it turns in 285°, so for me still smoothstar is the best surf trainer in the market.

wow thanks wasn't aware of this!! is it just on the yow pipe or all yow models in general?
Perfect surfy spot!! Just got a Onofre today. Looking forward to trying that in the little bowl tomorrow
You've just confirmed my decision on what surfskate to get. Thanks
Wicked! You won't be disappointed with either of these.
Driift TV I’m going with the yow
@@charliebryce3783 Good decision! It's a wicked board.
do you know if I can tighten the truck its a little too loose for me

@@waynesmith5810 do you got a video about how to tighten the pivot part?
There’s a bolt that came with the board that just screws in the hole next to the big nut on the swivel part of the truck. 🤙🏻
How does it ride in less than ideal conditions (rough asphalt, cobblestone..)?
The big soft wheels are good for handling a lot of bumpy surfaces. But ideally you'd be on a smoother surface when practicing carving!

Not sure. Never locked it. I use it as a surf skate.
Which surfskate would you recommend for improving surfing, this one or smooth star boards?

@@driifttv894 Cheers, at this point its more of whats available in my area, thank you.
What inch?
What do you think about Yow comparing to Smoothstar and Carver C7? Is the Truck system too looser or I can drop some hills with it? Thank you!

Bro, good day! if compare to smoothstar what's the difference and thus truck it turns in 285° radius?

Great review. Those are super strong, where can I get them? Haha JK.
Depends where your based. In Europe you can go direct to yow. 🤙🏻
You trying to give me a seizure with that intro? Seriously hurts to look at
Don’t look then.🤙🏻

This guy definitely doesn’t know how to surf
That’s why we only let Oli do the skate videos. His surfing is way worse. Send us your vids Felipe and if you’re any good you can join the team 🤙🏻
@@driifttv894 awesome EQ answer! Thanks for the review, I ended up getting this one after seeing what you can do on this.
