I think the reason Skillet has so many fans that are so similar is because we ALL (the fans) know pain like suicidal, mental instability, etc., and some of us are Christian. I haven’t seen one fight in any comments or replies section. Only people agreeing, comforting one another. Skillet has some relatable song lyrics that hit us right in the feels. Monster, I want to live, not gonna die, out of hell, you name it we relate to it.

When this album came out I was in hospital with a bruised back and cracked ribs which made my chest collapse and the doctor was a skillet fan so he put this album on for me

An awesome fight song for individualism, something I have embraced so much of during the few years, with me finally overcoming the true essence of my Anxiety Disorder. I'm still pretty new to Skillet, but what I've heard so far resonates so much with me on a personal level, and "I Want to Live" is going to be very hard to beat in terms of its message and musical composition.
this song has helped me through a lot, and now coming out at the end of a long streak of bad experiences and troubles, hearing this is exactly what I needed. Thank you for keeping my head up in dark times

This song reminds me, you know how a lot of people who attempted suicide and survived say they realized all their problems had a solution and they didn't really wanna die? I had a moment like that during the worst of the pandemic. Back when lots of people were getting sick and dying, and it felt like living in a warzone and the simple act of leaving my house to go grocery shopping was taking my life in my hands. I've struggled with depression for years now, still do, and there have been times, at my lowest moments, when I felt like I wanted to die. I never made plans or anything, or seriously contemplated it, but I have thought about it. I'm too much of a coward though, and I could never do that to my friends and family because I know it would traumatize them and they'd miss me. But during the height of the pandemic, when I was faced with my own mortality and the very real possibility that I could catch Covid and die, suddenly I realized- I want to live. I'm scared to die. When I thought about how I would no longer be able to eat my favorite foods, go to the movies, be with my family and friends, watch the sunset, or do any of the things I used to enjoy, I felt scared of dying. I wanted to live.
Dunno why I'm sharing this with a bunch of strangers on the internet, but that's what the song reminded me of and I'm hoping maybe it's helpful to someone. Live for the little things, for your favorite foods, live for the sake of the people who care about you, live for your pets or even your plants. I hope that this comment helps somebody, and I hope that if I ever find myself feeling that low again, sort of wishing to die, I find this comment and am reminded of all the reasons I wish to live.

I had this really awesome substitute teacher who was playing Hero by Skillet I was like "Dude you are the most badass substitute I've ever met." He had all the old Skillet music so I just had to introduce him to the Unleashed Album. Mr. Hill dude you're the man.

As a Christian, especially as a person who fights OCD and depression, this warms my heart and fills my brain with beautiful thoughts, other music does this too, guns n roses,shinedown etc (depends on the song as you might already guess) but its heartwarming that this music is able to help
