My first exposure to them was on Kingdom - I find them mature and classy, nothing over the top. Absolutely loved their Move performance on Kingdom.

SF9 is a group i love so much they’re so interesting!! My fav thing about Teardrop is how they changed the choreo like 5 days before they performed live because they felt it didn’t match them as much after finding their color and sound on kingdom!!

I disagree with the ‘personality’ critique, as somebody that’s been listening to sf9 for a while now and has gone through their entire discography, starting with their ‘now or never’ era, they developed their own unique sound that pulls a lot of elements from dance music, especially house, which at first you might think ‘well isn’t that all of kpop?’ but if you really think about it, it’s not. Not a lot of groups ( if any nowadays ) do club based beats and dance music. I am also surprised that she didn’t think tear drop had personality because I genuinly find that song to be very different for the kpop landscape. The choreo is simple for the song in the music video ( they changed it for the stage pearformances ) but Good Guy did showcase their dance abilities, maybe she didn’t notice. I hope you get to show her more of them in the future so she can get a better idea.

SF9 strikes me as that very mature and sexy group

Yeah. Like K-pop idols are trained to do different concepts. SF9 explores different concepts more often than others I think but that just makes them unique. Their identity is clear to me? Like the house beats show up a lot and their themes are more mature.

i mean shes only seen these two videos so of course shes not gonna know what their personality is like... its clear to us because we've seen them growing and listen to their music but for someone whos only seen 2 pretty mainstream songs its not going to be obvious or deep tbh lmfaooooo

you should've watched Now Or Never, O Sole Mio and RPM. These songs highlight their dance and possibly who they are can be introduced through Fanfare and Mamma Mia MVs.

The combo of the MVs you picked is...interesting...If you were trying to show two different end points of the kinds of concepts they tend to use, then okay. I can understand that.
I think a less confusing pair would have been Good Guy + Now or Never. And Teardrop with...Trauma? Maybe? Cause both of those are a lot more laidback than their other singles. Or maybe with Savior but mostly because they both use a royaltyish concept.

I feel like teardrop had such good choreo and they didn’t show it in the mv so I never watch it, I always watch it live.
