Okay some background, all 4 auditioned to be trainees in the Korean entertainment system. Jennie was a trainee for 5 yrs 11 months, Jisoo and Lisa 5 yrs 1 month and Rose' 4 yrs at YG Entertainment. As trainees they were required to perform a dance routine, solo, duet and group song monthly. Sure Thing is one of those. Their trainee schedule was 12 hour days with 1 day off every other week, they lived in a dorm. Daily schedule was dance class, vocals, acting, modeling, and public speaking. Plus academics, as many trainees are 14 yo (Lisa was 14 when she started). This performance was on a Korean TV show "Party People" hosted by J.Y.Park who is the CEO of JYP. YG and JYP work together with their trainees and it is likely where he first heard this performance. The production and arrangement is all by the girls. Plus the rap lyrics were written by Jennie and Lisa. I realize they are new to you, but understand they are huge worldwide, if you want to see crazy check the videos of them arriving or departing at the airports. You also need to react to BTS who are bigger than Blackpink, they are a boy Kpop band.

They have just debuted 3 years ago , and with only 9 song released they were already gained popularity all over the world and managed to held their first solo concert and just finished their 2019 world tour and not even yet have a whole album under their their name . It’s normal and almost expected for girl group members to release solo songs while they’re still in the group. It’s great actually. Jennie released a solo song last year. The other girls are all expected to release solo music in the near future. Their company founder said that Rosé is next to release her solo song.

In almost all kpop groups they all will have a solo career and other projects like modeling, acting, solo songs and collaborate songs with someone in their group or with someone from another group or with another group all together. They will not brake up the group. The company makes more money off of them that way. Most of the idol groups have been together for years before they debut (they are called trainees). When they are trainees they live together (most of the time sleep in the same room), eat, dance and so on. They are like a family.
Check out Rosé and Lisa doing a cover of L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole. They're also going to get solo projects. Jennie's solo project is already out, and is aptly named Solo. Lisa has multiple dance videos out that are definitely worth checking out. There's also a number of videos out there of Rosé doing covers of American songs.

If the artist on YG ENT doing something wrong, their CEO will fighting with that problem and face it. They are here to stay . Blackpink is the revolution . They have just debuted 3 years ago , and with only 9 song released they were already gained popularity all over the world and managed to held their first solo concert and just finished their 2019 world tour and not even yet have a whole album under their their name . Their music videos reaching 1 billion views on UA-cam and topping music charts . That's how amazingly talented they are .

The whole “going solo” thing doesn’t really happen in K-POP like it does with Western girl groups. It’s normal and almost expected for girl group members to release solo songs while they’re still in the group. It’s great actually. Jennie released a solo song last year. The other girls are all expected to release solo music in the near future. Their company founder said that Rosé is next to release her solo song.
This was done in BlackPink's First Year 2016-2017. Have you every seen their M/V for "Stay"? Also done in year one.
You need to see more of their Live performances, where they do some covers... And where they do some individual stuff as well.

YG Entertainment have different genre from another management in south Korea! YG choose Hiphop ,rap , r&b genres for their artists! It ain't all sunshine and roses . . . the "trainee" model of creating talent has some amazing benefits, and some pretty hideous dark sides when it goes the wrong way. Either way, these ladies are the product of YEARS of training and hard work, and they're not the only ones.

In almost all kpop groups they all will have a solo career and other projects like modeling, acting, solo songs and collaborate songs with someone in their group or with someone from another group or with another group all together. They will not brake up the group. The company makes more money off of them that way. Most of the idol groups have been together for years before they debut (they are called trainees). When they are trainees they live together (most of the time sleep in the same room), eat, dance and so on. They are like a family.

They're also going to get solo projects. Jennie's solo project is already out, and is aptly named Solo. Lisa has multiple dance videos out that are definitely worth checking out. There's also a number of videos out there of Rosé doing covers of American songs.
