I was in the band in the early 70''s graduating in 1973. Very proud to see the tradition has lasted and the program has grown to 300 from our 150. Went in to UT to be a proud nember of if the Longhorn Band trombone section.
Hey that is a good band one of the band director's was my director and is Johnathan Martinez He was the best I had and I miss him so much that is a big band and I am proud of him.😉😉😉😂😂😂
I am proud to have been a member of the Mean Green Marching Machine and this band here is the band that East Texas military marching bands need to look up to... Consecutive number ones for decades and I see no stopping with this band
I hope the drum majors didn't look quite so silly when you were in it. They need to get rid of the cowgirl outfits and give them real drum major uniforms.
It's actually not too hard to figure out exactly how many are in the band. Multiply the number of horizontal lines X the number of vertical lines and there you have it.
Yeah my brother was on of them it’s so awesome I’m in the same band he was and I am also playing Baritone like he did this was his last UIL and it was so grand, that’s when I knew music is what I want to pursue not that song lyrical stuff but the calm melodic that you see in concert bands
I noticed that it was the same drill as henderson high school band 2010 but longview was a bigger band, and they also had the same music selections, except the fanfare and at the end, longview did it bEtTer tho
The person who was the head director in that 2010 video is Mr. Moore and he was also the head director at Longview in 2018! He is not the director now though. He retired and Mrs. Rhonda Daniel is the director now!
I love Military style more than core, actually Spring Hill is a military band with a pit as well and they always go to state, check out there videos under the NAMMB playlist
That says more about the UIL being screwed up than it does about the style. Military marching takes far more skill than corps where straight lines and diagonals mean nothing.

Thanks for posting. This is always one of my favorite bands. Great job!

UIL allows Texas HS marching bands to perform without front lines ?
What do you mean by front lines?
Like marimbas, synths, gong, bass drum, timpani, etc
Marcos Calvillo they’re military not core
UIL has no requirement for what a band's instrumentation must be or where they must be placed on the field.
I actually know the number of kids out there 300+

Noice
Good performance. But, this style will never make state finals. But do like this very much

What with two of the drum majors wearing cowgirl outfits? Looks kinda silly.
They are Drum Majorettes (Precision Twirlers), unique members to the Military Bands!
probably the influence of the Kilgore College rangerettes and it being Texas.
