What a stunning video. I live 20 mins from Bamburgh near the Cheviot hills and there’s a park up right on the beach along from Bamburgh castle to the north. Shame you didn’t see it as it’s the best spot in the area. Shame about the council 😢thank you for clearing up their rubbish. It saddens me when van lifers can’t park up in our county. I welcome it. If I’d known you were in area I’d have offered my drive !! A beautiful account of your visit. We have some stunning areas up here glad you came to visit 🎉
Another great video guys, Northumberland is beautiful, we are biased as it is our back yard!! When my son was little he used to ask to go to the 'library' in Alnwick, he meant Barter Books. We can spend hours there, great books, good food and open fires, whats not to like. Northumberland County Council did put out a statement saying they were encouraging campervans and motorhomes, something has obviously gone very wrong, what a shame. Just a little update on our van. I put my maxfan and skylight in, they look great and they didn't leak, I couldn't believe it!! Now making the frames for 4 Seitz windows....... Take care and stay safe guys xxx
Ah thank you 😊 It is absolutely beautiful, yes! Genuinely couldn’t believe some of the places we visited and the beaches are stunning. That’s hilarious about the “library”, but we can only imagine how magical that place must be for a kid 😍 That’s very strange about Northumberland county council. They can’t really have it both ways. It feels as though they’re waging war on campers and motor homes rather than welcoming them so you’re right, the messaging has got very mixed up somewhere along the way! So happy about your fan and roof light! That’s really exciting. Good luck with the Windows!
We absolutely loved it, possibly our favourite place in Northumberland - it has everything! And people were so friendly to us there too. That car park is a fantastic idea too 👍 you’re definitely lucky to have it as your home. Thanks for watching 😊
I don’t know how missed this when it came out but I’ve just spent a lovely time reminiscing about my last holiday with my husband (and dog) in 2019 before he passed away. Thank you so much. Try pushing a wheelchair around the walls in Berwick on tweed I’m sure I developed new muscles 🤣 I loved Alnwick gardens
Ah that’s so lovely, we’re so happy you enjoyed it and it brought back good memories and we’re sorry for your loss 💕 We can imagine pushing a wheelchair around those walls would be a real challenge! Your biceps must be bulging 😅
Such a great video. I've just stumbled on your channel and I live in this area. I hope you get better weather next time you come up. Those beaches are spectacular in the sun.
Enjoyed your video, particularly your honesty in that you're still finding your feet in the van life world. A world I've long wished to join. As a resident of this beautiful county of Northumberland, I fear you didn't do this beautiful place justice. So many more quaint villages, beautiful coastlines and castles to visit. I'm guessing the pandemic was still interfering with things though, so you are indeed forgiven.😁 Whilst you mentioned a few castles, there are more, and they are mostly worth paying the entrance fee (if there is one) to explore. Alnwick, Bambrough and Warkworth are the best "paid" castles to see. Dunstanburgh is big, but little to see, considering you have to pay an entry fee. There is Norham, Edlingham, Ripley and Mitford castles, which whilst less impressive in stature, are free to view. Theres also Chillingham castle, rumoured to be one of the most haunted, and Belsay castle and hall. These two are pay per view, but worth it. Now, beaches. We have some of the longest and cleanest beaches in the country. Blyth/ Seaton Sluice, Druridge Bay, Embleton, Ross Sands, Bamburgh and Cresswell to name but a few. Then there's Longhoughton. A coastline with everything. Beaches, cliffs, secluded bays, rivers entering the sea, rocks, coves and amazing views and wildlife. What you didn't cover in your very enjoyable video, was the very many picturesque market towns in the county, such as Rothbury or Morpeth, or that much of Hadrians wall resides in Northumberland. I understand your video was as much about the transition to van life, as it was about the county, and very enjoyable it was too, but I just thought I should perhaps bring some attention to some of the many places you didn't mention. After all, it's a big county with an awful lot of history and just loads of interesting things to see. Oh! Kielder. Massive reservoir with water sports, wildlife, bird of prey centre and lodgings & cafes, to say the least. Please continue to enjoy your van life experience. I thank you for sharing it, as it's something I am erring toward. Also, please visit Northumberland again, now the pandemic has passed, as you missed so much of this beautiful place.
💕Sea air can make you feel tired💕I’m really enjoying seeing the beautiful places you visit & where Not to go due to lack of parking💕Those workers that beeped might of been checking if your van was empty to burgle💕
Very true, no idea why but sea air definitely has that effect. Northumberland was a bit of a struggle with the parking but still well worth visiting, the beaches in particular are just incredible 😀 Hadn’t considered that about the workers 😱 but thinking back they didn’t approach the van and we didn’t give them any indication that we were inside so it was likely just a failed attempt to annoy us and wake us up!
Jeez, I was confused for a few minutes, you mentioned the weather in May, and the van is finished, and I have just watched you fitting the water heater. 🤷♂️🤦♂️ Nice video guys, 👏👏👏👏👍
Haha yeah sorry, we’re about a year behind on the van build videos and a couple of months behind on the travel stuff. We will get up to real time one day 😀🤪
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing 😂😂 good to know. The attention to detail on the van build is brilliant, keep on editing and posting. Are you still in the UK? or are you in sunnier climates?
Thanks a lot, we really appreciate it. Yeah we’re actually in Scotland as we speak, but not sure there are much sunnier climes than the UK right now which is unusual!
Not tried the Infinite session, we’ll get ourselves down to Sainsbury’s to score some though - hoppy sounds good. We have tried the punk AF and we’re fans too. Thanks for the recommendations!
A big fan of you both ,almost watched all your videos especially related to van . your van is soo beautiful ,and really want to tell u that u guys are an inspiration to me . as I am also planing to self build a van like yours .. Stay blessed ,stay healthy and stay safe keep travelling Much love from INDIA. Hoping to meet you guys someday on the roads .. ❤️
That’s so lovely to hear, thank you so much ☺️ Please let us know if you have any questions about the van we might be able to help with and we hope your van build goes well. That would be amazing to bump into each other somewhere down the road in our vans 😀 India is a place we’ve always wanted to visit, hopefully one day soon 👍
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing Thanx alot sir , it will be our pleasure to welcome you in our beautiful country .. there are lots of questions regarding van build ,but you will not be able to answer them as its regarding the availability of the materials , equipments .. As in India Motorhome or campervan is just now becoming somewhat popular . so its really very very frustrating to find correct things ,either we have to import it from other countries ,mostly USA .. and thats a huge load beacuse of import duty ... no worries one day I will surely achieve my dream of making a motorhome as beautiful as yours.
Another lovely video guys! Always a pleasure to see you both interact. By the way, I don't quite understand the business plan behind the Northumberland county attitude. ATB Marc - Belgium
Ah thank you, that’s great to hear ☺️ Yeah it seems a bit of a knee jerk reaction to some overcrowding issues last year during the height of the pandemic which has led them to basically ban overnight stays everywhere. It’s definitely not the most sensible approach in our opinion but it’s happened a lot across the UK recently unfortunately. What’s it like for vans in Belgium, do you have any of these issues?
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing No, here in Belgium it's not that bad although some seaside towns suffered the same problem. What does disappoint me is that motorhome sales have boomed during the Covid pandemic. You see them everywhere now. Hopefully it is only a temporary phenomenon because I don't feel like traveling through Europe in convoy. By the way what is a knee jerk reaction?
Haha yes the same here, the market for motor homes and campervans has gone wild, so many people buying them up. Good to hear it’s not so bad in Belgium, we’ve been a few times but never in a camper so it’s good to know it’s an option 😀 Sorry, a knee jerk reaction is like when the doctor hits the nerve just below your knee cap and your lower leg shoots up. So basically a quick automatic decision with no thought behind it and not necessarily a good thing 😅
Excellent video. Not sure why you expect to pak up fpr free though! Sadly, campervans are increasingly unwelcome nationwide due to the antisocial behaviour of a few of us.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 😊 To flip that on its head, we’re not sure why we should have to pay to park. Totally agree that we’re becoming increasingly unwelcome in England. That’s partly why we much prefer to spend time in countries where campervans are better catered for, socially accepted, and actively encouraged by local communities who recognise the value (financially and otherwise) of visiting campervans. Sadly that means not England or much of the rest of the UK.

Love this blog Northumbria is my neck of the woods and yes it’s defo “annick” lol
Ah thank you! Yeah we figured out "Annick" after hearing a few people saying it properly 🤣 Lovely part of the world to be from!

New sub...really liking your stuff. Great van, beautifully converted 👍
My van build is underway now so hopefully in a few months I'll be following in your footsteps. Great video as always.
Great stuff, the Northumberland coastline is sublime so we’d highly recommend it up there. Many thanks 😊
You can rent apartments in there, they are quite modern to be honest. I’d want 4 poster beds and proper thrones to sit on
Oh really? That sounds amazing but we're with you on that one! 4 poster beds, coats of armour, that sort of thing would really make it special.
Brilliant video guys
Thank you 😊
Ghost ship is really good non alcoholic, also one of the best with alcohol. Try Erdinger non alcohol very good as well.
We love Ghost Ship, one of our faves. Not tried the Erdinger yet though, we’ll definitely give that a go, thanks for the tip 😀
