- The Disneyland Hotel is a resort hotel located at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, owned by the Walt Disney Company and operated through their Parks, Experiences and Products division. Opened on October 5, 1955, as a motor inn owned and operated by Jack Wrather under an agreement with Walt Disney, the hotel was the first to officially bear the Disney name. Under Wrather's ownership, the hotel underwent several expansions and renovations over the years before being acquired by Disney in 1988. The hotel was downsized to its present capacity in 1999 as part of the Disneyland Resort expansion.

Having grown up in Southern California, we never had a need to stay during our Disneyland trips, but I've always wanted to stay there with my wife--it's just never worked out. Growing up in Orange County, I spent many Friday nights at the Disneyland Hotel as a child in the 70’s. The water show was my favorite.

I have such wonderful memories of the Disneyland hotel from being a kid in the 80s. I don't know if it's still there but they had a koi pond where I fed the fish. 🐠
So nostalgic watching this! My ultimate memory of Disneyland, where I was a pass holder for most of the 90's was being on Alice In Wonderland during the Lion King parade and being eye to eye with one of the stilt walker. That remains one of the absolute best parades I've ever seen at the park. Ah, the days when they did a parade for each movie. 😍

I'm still in the middle of watching your video, but was too excited to find out that the Disneyland hotel opened on my birthday! I grew up with Disneyland, been going since I was 6 months old and never knew this! My mother took us every year to Disneyland in the 70's & 80"s then Walt Disney World. I still remember how much I loved Disneyland and staying at the Disneyland Hotel. These videos bring back so many memories even though things are way different now. What a wonderful man Walt Disney was and I love that my mother educated us about how he managed to do what he did. She loved and respected him so much

The great view comes after dark when you can see the fireworks at Disneyland and the World of Color from California Adventure.

Glad to see you embracing “west coast, best coast” and loving DLR. As far as essential DLR experiences, try to do the Walk in Walt’s Footsteps Tour. When I did it years ago, they brought us up into the Main Street Firehouse apartment.
As far as food, you *must* have a Disneyland corn dog. And the Chili Cone Queso for the retro Handwich experience. The shawarma and falafel in Avengers campus are good quick snacks, and Make Mine Mocha at Schmoozies.

Hi Nade, What a beautiful video you have made. I myself went to Florida for the first time last March and thought it was fantastic. I have been to all the parks with my son, I have been amazed. It was indescribable in one word. We have stayed at the Cabana Bay Beach resort. The only thing I didn't like was flying, we live in the Netherlands and flew for almost 11 hours. We took home a lot of souvenirs.

I stayed at the Disneyland hotel in ‘87 when I was in high school and went to visit my best friend who had moved to CA. It was amazing and I had never stayed anywhere like it before (I had never been to a Disney park before). Just hanging out on the hotel property with my friend, eating at the hotel restaurants, jumping on the monorail to the park whenever we want…it really was magical. Nice to see it still is! Thanks for sharing this!

Oh my goodness Nate! I got to stay at the Disneyland Hotel in 2019. I loved it so much! I just wanted to stay in the room and look at the picture above the beds all day. The little touches are soooo magical and the history and pictures throughout the resort is just the best! I loved everything about Disneyland!! Thanks for sharing your trip!!

We loved the Disneyland Hotel, stayed there for 2 weeks back in 2010 as my wife was a cast member back then - 50% discount, so it made sense! Then used it as a base for the Parks and LA in general! Loving the videos Nate!
