Great book haul! The Aggie Morton series is very fun! I adore the Painted Editions! I have the Little Women one. Stunning! That edition of 101 Dalmatians is gorgeous!!!!
That painted edition of Jane Eyre is gorgeous!!! That’s def going on my wish list. One of my favorite bookish Christmas gifts this year is the first bind up of the Betsy-Tacy series. So excited to try it because I loved Lovelaces Emily of Deep Valley book so much. Thanks for sharing your lovely Christmas gifts. ❤
That’s a good copy of the Classics Illustrated. That is so cool he got you one. I like to read the CI after I read the book as well. This year I got The House of the Seven Gables. That 101 Dalmatian book is stunning. You always find the coolest books. Happy New Year!
Such wonderful gifts 😍🤩. I love the Jane Eyre comic book! I found an old vintage copy of 101 dalmatians last spring...I've been looking forward to reading it since you talked about it last year... happy reading ✨
You got some really nice presents! I read the Agatha Christie biography and I LOVED IT! Read her early life story and then stop before she sells any of her books. She had an enchanted childhood.
Your family is so thoughtful ❤ wow what beautiful books!! Great book haul!! 😊 also I suffer from anxiety books always help and your accent is so enjoyable and relaxing. 😊
Thanks, Holly! I'm so sorry you suffer from anxiety, but I'm glad I can share a little comfort and enjoyment. Praying your new year is filled with love, joy, and peace. ❤
A lot of great books you received for Christmas. I asked for the illustrated 2nd Harry Potter book and received it from my son. So now I have two of them.
The Folio Society 101 Dalmatians was my very first FS book! Its just wonderful!!! Congratulations! Ive been wanting to join your Nancy Drew discussion group but since starting UA-cam these last few months it's been so difficult to find time! My Mom brought me a stack of Nancy Drews but I need to find #3 - I will try to find time to read #4 and join you guys... I love those matted covers too! Lovely video as always!
I had no idea 101 Dalmarions was set at Christmas. I am always looking for fun chapter books to read to my kids at Christmas. I might do that one next year. That edition is stunning!!
The JOURNEY INTO CHRISTMAS book that you got by Bess Streeter Aldrich (which i have and is signed by the author) is the same author as the book I sent you, SONG OF YEARS! In fact, one of the stories in it is an excerpt from SONG OF YEARS! I'm still waiting for you to read it! 😢
I am reading the Nancy Drew books this year. Someone had a ton of vintage editions on marketplace for 25 dollars for all, I just missed them. I found the book A Fine Romance ,falling in love with the English Countryside by Susan Branch. It is so cute! You got some wonderful books!
Hi Mitzi, I just received by used copies of Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher and The Winter Garden that you recommended recently. I really like the Pilcher books but had never read that one. And it turned out to be a huge hardback. So I will probably start that today. And I am reading a classic, Moby Dick and enjoying that too. Thank you.😊
I’m the same way with non-fiction. I have some that I really want to read, including the Christie one. But I end up grabbing Stevenson or one of the British authors of that period that are kind of similar to her. Plus I’m trying to get through my mystery series and Georgette Heyer’s Regency ones. If you do a non-fiction read along month, I’ll definitely participate!
@@mitzireadsandwrites Maybe start with Frederica (my favorite) or The Reluctant Widow. I thought they were a more accessible starting point. Some of them discuss clothes and carriages too much for me. But maybe you would enjoy that if you like that era. The beginning of Venetia might turn some people off these days. So probably not the best one to start with.
#5 Nancy Drew has always been my favorite. Did you ever check out that graphic novel I mentioned to you about Rod? I really think you would like it. The Twilight Man: Rod Serling and the Birth of Television, it is so good.
Great haul and video again! I did not know 101 Dalmations was set at Christmas. I can't wait to read it. A note about Aggie Morton, they have some fun content but I was very disappointed finding comments about God not existing added in casual strange unnecessary ways. I recommend the Myrtle Hardcastle books instead.
What??? Why in the world??? Thanks for letting me know. I'll read this first one and see what I think, but doesn't sound like I'll get far, if that's the case.
Have you read, Persuasion by Jane Austen…? If not, put it on your list…! It’s my favourite Austen novel…! It really pulls on the heart strings….! Btw, I started reading Agatha Chritstie’s novels when I was 12 years of age……and now I’m ancient…!!😅 Also, try Dombey & Son and Bleak House (Charles Dickens)….you won’t be disappointed….!😄
I love Jane Austen!! That letter in Persuasion is the best love letter ever!! ❤Dombey and Son was my favorite read last year and I am actually reading Bleak House RIGHT NOW!!! 😂I think we're on the same page lol.
You got lots of fun Christmas goodies! 😊 I wanted to let you know I started my own booktube channel last week, and I mentioned you and a book you recommended in my video about my favorite books of 2023...just in case you'd like to watch it. 😊 (By the way, my channel was called cornflower blue until last week. Thought I'd better say so you can connect me to the comments I've left on your videos. ❤)

I'd love that bind up, too! I loved Emily and can't believe I've never read Betsy-Tacy!!

Awesome! I think my son gave his wife one of those, too!
That vintage Agatha Christie!!!! Jealous!!!! 😄
I knew you would love that one, Janet!!!!
Its so cool that your family exchanges vintage and thrifted gifts! love that idea❤
Glad you had a nice Christmas 😊
I started it many years ago with a vintage board game and the boys said it was their favorite gift. Now I'm always on the lookout for fun things.

NO WAY!!! Oh my goodness, that is awesome!! It's meant for me to read!!!
You got great classic books!
That edition of 101 Dalmatians is stunning! So fun to see the beautiful books you got!
Thanks! I love them all!

Oh I want that Susan Branch one, too!! I'm planning her Fairytale Girl one sometime this month.

No, I haven't, but I just mentioned that one to my son last week and I just added it to my wishlist. I'll hint around my birthday. 😂
I love all your books I’m going to try to find some that you mentioned! Like the Dickens books !
Thanks!
Have you read A Man Called Peter by Catherine Marshall (his wife)? I read it many years ago and it was a touching story about such a Godly man.
It's also a very good movie!
Not yet, but I found a copy at a library sale just a few months ago. I think I'm going to just work my way through Catherine Marshall books this year.
I hope you enjoy all your books! I picked up more Catherine Marshall books at a bookstore liquidation sale. I'll message you and see if you have them.
oh, thanks! I had no idea she wrote so many!

Oh my goodness, I love that copy of 101 Dalmatians! Where can I find that? I loved that book last year too!
My son ordered it from foliosociety.com, but I'm warning you, if you visit their website, you will want all the books. 😂
❤📚 What a thoughtful family! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!! Hope yours is off to a great start!
