Thanks so much :) where do you live? In bay area I have seen cream of wheat in local indian and american stores, If you cannot find it is ok to use idli rave.Yes! you can add any vegetables of your choice.

Store bought idli tari is parboiled rice. It will not be good for uppittu. If we make at home we use regular rice, we use this tari for both idli and uppittu
