Yes but the ball wasn't thrown in head of the receiver but low and away like it was supposed to be thrown I know whatever remember the play. Making a round of on second down and probably one of the super bowl.😊
"Wrong Way Marshall?" Ohhhhhhh! So THAT was the inspiration for that Full House episode where Michelle kicks a soccer goal in her own team's goal and gives the win to the opponents earning the nickname "Wrong Way Michelle."
Jim Marshall still hasn't been inducted into the Hall of Fame because of that one play. It has wrongly overshadowed that Marshall never missed a game in his 19 seasons with Minnesota, starting all 270 possible games from 1961-79, plus 19 playoff games that included four Super Bowls. He has been credited with 130.5 career sacks.
@@DarthVader19-77 Exactly. They forget he still holds the record for most opponent fumbles recovered at 29 and the 2nd most games played by a defensive player at 282.
@nosepicker88 I wonder if that and the circle around the ball are them trying to avoid some kind of copyright detection. Still a dumb thing to do and I can't finish the video because of it.
Honestly, #8 should be recognized more as a sharp play by Will Harris (#25 for the Lions D). That entire miscue happens because of him. Gurley thinks he's going to be tackled so he doesn't think about going down on his own - but then Harris lets go, when Gurley doesn't expect it, and he's already pitching forward with momentum. You can tell Gurley KNOWS he wants to be down before the goal line, but because of the way he was moving, he just can't do it in time - it's kind of an ironic case where if Gurley hadn't been touched at all he probably is able to successfully stop himself, but the defensive disruption messed him up. Still a fail on Gurley's part but credit should be given to Harris for being the spanner.
Yeah, I'm surprised that that wasn't on the list. When Keith Olbermann was at Cornell, he had a teacher that was a "Gints" fan (that's how the professor pronounced it) who said that he'd grade the class's essays after the game was over. Nobody did well on that assignment ...
The Tom Brady Clip at #5 isn’t that bad when you actually understand the context of the confusion. It had nothing to do with Tom Brady’s age but rather confusion due to the signal pole on either the left or right side of the field saying 3rd down when it was 4th

'In NFL History'. I sure would like to have seen EVERY play in NFL History to know that these were the dumbest plays. What a lucky person to have seen ALL of those films.
Just have to say that scoring a touchdown shouldn’t ever be a “dumb play”. If you don’t prevent the other team from scoring after that touchdown you lost fair and square. Purposefully not scoring because you’re afraid you won’t stop the other team is a defeatist attitude I wouldn’t want my team to have.
The Todd Gurley play was not dumb. If he went down it would have been a smart play, but if you have the chance to score, score. That loss is entirely on the defense
@@peternixon4696Then they’d lose. Here, you tell me which one you’d rather do: -Kick a 19 yard field goal as time expires (~99.5% chance of success, using extra point data from when it was a 21 yard kick to get this number) -Give the Lions the ball with minute and four seconds left and pray they don’t get a touchdown.
The play by the Cowboys was actually a good call, the problem was they should have not spiked it and gone for an actual play with the defense still getting set and possibly getting a mismatch or head start on a receiver downfield.
As a Giants fan, I'm kind of surprised neither of the meadowland miracles getting a mention, I damn near lost my mind watching Desean Jackson run that punt back on us and thankfully I'm too young to have seen the original live.
Every time I see a player throw away a sure touchdown by celebrating prematurely, I daydream about time warping him back to the Detroit Lions in the 1950s when Bobby Layne was their quarterback. During practice sessions he would punish a cocky ball carrier by calling for the "club rush." Upon his signal the offensive lineman would step aside and let the defenders rush in unopposed. It was just a matter of who would hit the ball carrier first and how many would pile on. The coaches looked the other way. This was according to George Plimpton in his book "Paper Lion."
I kept running through that play in my head, and hearing the story about that play. I've concluded that it was a very dumb play call deserving to be on the list because the center that was playing wasn't the center they practiced the play with. Why call a play where the most important player to not screw it up is someone who doesn't know the play?
I think Jay cutler throwing the football to multiple former teammates because he thought they are still teammates ranks up there somewhere. Especially when a former teammate waved and yelled I’m open only for cutler to throw to the guy and bam, interception. Cutler and his excuses: he was wide open, we were teammates before so I thought he’d help me out. He’s on the other team 🤨
For us Browns fans, Dwayne Rudd throwing his helmet and beating his chest after he thought he had sacked the QB was a killer! Browns had a 2-point lead over the Chiefs with practically no time left in the game. The QB lateraled to an O-lineman who ran about 10 yards. Tack on the 15-yard penalty and KC made a chipshot FG and won the game. But I can harken back to Eric Metcalf's 4th quarter punt return TD in 1993 to beat the Stillers!! (Yes, I was there, too!)
The Zeke center play was Kellen Moore's biggest scandal lol. But the other one was on the ref, he jogged his way up (We see a ref move faster in a similar situation later) and then he fucked up placing it and wasted time.
The weird Colts play, if I understand, was not supposed to happen. They were trying to trick the defense into a bad substitution. The center was a replacement and didn’t know he was not supposed to snap.
To be fair, Todd Gurley was generally very good about not scoring touchdowns at the end of the game. He knew he made a mistake in that Falcons game (he even took blame for it afterwards). Dumb play from a generally smart player.
3:00 The Colts 4th and 3. The center was not the starting center and he wasn't supposed to ever hike the ball. They were just trying to get them to jump offsides.
2:58 i mean, even if they ran the clock and kicked the field goal, the kicker might’ve shanked it. To just a matter of do you trust your kicker to make a 15 yard field goal, or trust your defense to stop them. Also, the defense could’ve played better, so it’s not entirely the scorer’s fault. Now, if they were ahead, and just needed to run the clock, but scored a touchdown and gave the ball back, it could allow the other team a comeback opportunity.
