Been using the hoss helix weighted hook on a Zman jerk shad to catch flounders. Seems like every time I catch a fish I have to rig the lure again. I will definitely give this a try.
Love all of the videos!!! Can't wait for the in-line hook video (unless I missed it). I can't stand treble hooks!!! Have you ever done a walk through of your Buzbee gear??? I bought a colony starter pack. Love it. Just overwhelmed by all of my options. Need a little help from a pro!!!
Ordered some of these the other week from salt strong. Didn't even realize what the plastic piece was for. As much as I love the Salt Strong guys, you have pretty much gotten me to switch over to Z-Man exclusively. Checked out Sodium USA and their prices are the same as the insider discount from SS, ended up ordering a few more of the ZWGs. Thanks for that! As nice as these ZWGs are though, I really wish they had the plastic keeper in the Texas-eyed jig heads. That weight forward jig head does cast better than the ZWGs, Owner Twist locks, etc. Those Texas-eyed jig heads are my favorite for the Kicker Crab Z too, since the weight forward jig has them sit at a downward angle with that claw angled up. Thanks Captain CA!
I just got these hooks and I've been a Mustad grip-pin guy for a while. What I like about the ZWG's is they offer a 3/16oz weight, most brands jump from 1/8oz to 1/4oz and I find that in certain conditions that the 1/8 is to light and the 1/4 is to heavy...IMHO.
Pretty cool CA ! But i gotta say BKK hooks have had this out for a few years and they work great! The BKK Titan Diver series which you can actually change out the weights on them in the larger size and they have the bead keepers. The other style is the Titan Rider ! Anyway just thought i would share but i know you are sponsored by Z-Man. I am sure the Z-man are cheaper as BKK’s are pricy but most of their hooks are hand ground !
From what I can tell the TitianDiver+ only have twist locks, I find those are a major pain to deal with when trying to get any Zman bait on those style hooks but I like the concept of being able to dial in the weight you want, that's pretty sweet!
Removable weight system is nothing new as Lunker City has done it for three decades. BKK hooks are unimpressive performance wise and frankly I'd rather not give my money to a Chinese government owned company.
I fish the Z-Man DieZel MinnowZ baits every time I fish here in the Lower Keys. I lose the paddle part of the bait from short strikes after several casts usually. Gets expensive. Marking the weight on the weight is a no brainer even if it costs a little more.
Take my money! I'll be trying those as soon as we have seaweed floating around the Chesapeake Bay again. I just sent this video to my fishin' buddies and told them to watch you daily. I appreciate the information and lessons. Hopefully they will too.
Someone must have "bumped their head" ($7.00 per 3pk)? You can get these results with ANY hook, regardless of the plastic by using orthodontic rubber bands on the hook shank at $2.00 per 100. Use your head for something other than a hat rack!
Really excited about these new hooks! Zman is definitely setting the standard and paving the way for anglers. Thanks again Captain for a great informative video! If you’re reading this in the comments, Subscribe!!!!
Mike the Pro Bulletz is solid but gives you more of a weight forward presentation. The ZWG gives you a more level or horizontal fall to your presentation which in many cases is preferred
I'm excited about these, but BKK has used the silicone sleeve on the hook for a very long time. The angle of the BKK doesn't make it go "around" the hook but straight up... something ZMan needs to look at.
I like your videos but maybe if your can, when you are filming up close like your intro please try looking into the camera and not at the yourself at the screen in the camera. Eye contact in the camera make your videos more personal. It will take practice but it will make your videos better, trust me. Keep up the great info!
Great video. Can I ask your recommendation on hook size and weight for the 3.3 and 4 inch mulletron?
Finally, z man does it again 🙌🏼
Great hooks for sure. Its been a solid hook for me the last few months for the paddlerz and jerkshadz.
Love zman and googan products.
I like them wide gap hooks. That little plastic keeper is a great idea. Definitely gonna be getting a couple packs of those. Zman is big in Australia
Thank you so much CA. I really appreciate your helpful review videos. Can’t wait to see the next one!

I promise you the terminal tackle designed by Zman works best for Elaztech baits hands down
Although I'm a walleye guy, really love your shows especially the old Florida one...

We have a new one coming soon… stay tuned to the channel
As capt I'd love to set on a boat and listen to him talk fishing can't imagine the knowledge he possess. Thanks capt CA

Appreciate this share my friend

Great observation my friend
They work great for larger plastisol swim baits too.

Totally different hook for different soft plastics.

@@United_By_Waterif you use a lighter and heat up the little spring-keeper a little before you screw it into the Zman it will go on there.
Gonna try this hook. Looks like a perfect marriage for the zman!
Will the 3/0 fit the MinnowZ without any trouble? Looks like a winner👍🏻
2/0 Chinlockz is better suited with 3” Minnowz

They catch fish without the paddle almost as good as with. At least off NC. That elaztech is tough stuff.
ID LOVE FOR YOU TO DO A VIDEO ON YOUR GPS/FISHFINDER AND EXPLAIN THE PROS AND CONS OF YOUR UNITS
Thanks Capt CA. Great video.
Ordered some from Sodium and some swim baits, will use them on Lake Guntersville. Thanks
That’s awesome Larry

Thanks for the share and loyal support of the channel
Would you give us a few examples of which size ZWG hook YOU like with various Z Man baits?
Bob- 5/0 for 5” Jerk Shad, 4/0 for 4” Diezel Minnowz 3/0 for EZ Shrimpz… hope this helps

Ca Richards what size ZWG and weights do you reccomend for the Chatter Spikes?
4/0 1/8oz
Need a link taken out that watch

I use the Pro Bulletz, why should I change?

Z man for the win 🎣
That red barb breaks!!
Are they in Australia
What do you use for fishing around oysters?
I utilize the ZWG while Texas Rigging Elaztech baits with lighter weights the swim over the hazard much easier
Thank you.
Good stuff. Watch game on point CA !
😂 well thank you my friend

Yeah those Zman that are as jelly as jelly are difficult, for sure!
I like that bead to keep the bottom up
What size hook would be appropriate for a 3 inch z man and a 4 inch diezel minnow? Thank you.
I'd recommend the 3/0 for the MinnowZ
2/0 in the Chinlockz or 3/0 in the ZWG for 3” Minnow. The 4” Diezel I prefer the 4/0 ZWG in 3/16oz
could that be an inline hook?
I've used glow beads for that application for years!! Find the one that will fit the hook and let her eat!!
Have you experienced problems with the glow beads melting to the Z-Man Baits?
I’ve done that!
I use the eagle claw weighted Hooks pari #bwh18-r 1/8 oz comes in 5 each hooks each box not 3: I don't need a nail with this hookup

👍🏼
Bkk had that bead first
So this only applies to zman baits then? 100% disagree for anything else...Owner beast with the centering pin is the only way to go.
