My father used to repair starter motors and all kind of electrical motors for semitrailers and buses.
He built a coil fitting maschine using only his brain because was no UA-cam back in 1990s.
Sadly he passed away before he could pass the knowledge to me. However the coil fitting maschine is still there in the workshop. One day I might going to give a try.
    Nice work guys!!

Some very serious skills on display here - no robots or computers - just basic tools, highly skilled hands, and dedication to do a first class job. A lot of lessons to be learned from this, such a pity technology has all but robbed us of the abilities that are exhibited on this video!! First class job!!

Fantastic job, The dismantling of the old windings of the armature, measuring and rewinding the new coils. Great to see the younger generation learning as they help with rewinding, cutting insulation sleeves etc. We live too much in a throw away society and credit to you guys, to keep these motors in service by rewinding them. Like the cooling fan on your bridge rectifier too. Enjoyed this video very much. Watched it 31 Dec 2022. Happy New Year.

Congratulations on your work. The mental and physical state of these young people in order to be able to fully understand the logic of what they do and what is more, the tangible work done always needs to be guaranteed. These young people should be recognized by society as being the invisible surgeons who, in silence and unseen by the public and society, they keep the tangible comfort of our life going by doing such fine surgery on such complex machines. Many people look upon this as being manual work, but this would give rise to discussing the fact that hospital surgeons are also manual workers. Society must recognize once and for all, that it should learn to value and respect the work being done by these young gentlemen and not only appreciate those socially oriented vociferous professionals who deal with people's emotions and in many situations, they do exploit people with promises and beliefs and no guarantee in their services, as normally they do not produce tangible guaranteed products as these young gentlemen produced in this video.
Congratulations once again and good luck with your work.

Impressive skill and patience rebuilding this motor. The videography and editing was excellent too. Very clear closeups as well as wideshots to show context, just enough edited out to make it watchable in one sitting, but not so much that you couldn't follow what was happening. May I ask what type of work this motor does? I'm making a wild guess either some industrial machine or a locomotive starter?

Repair and reconditioning. You start out by having one of your "Technicians" using a screw-driver as a chisel. Very good demonstration of your lack of proper tools and employees training. Notice also that despite the obvious wearing on the commutator, you did not turn it to make all segments, flat and of even height. That baking oven seem to be the height of technology. USING SODA BOTTLES SAYS A LOT ABOUT THE CLEANLINESS OF THE EQUIPMENT AND POSSIBLE CONTAMINATION. Ah, Yes, always good to bank steel on steel. SO easy to peen over the netal, crack the castings and make it impossible to interlock properly. Nice to see that you didn't remove all the old worn or frayed wiring for the magnet coil feeds. I notice that nice polished surface where the cover plate will go. Altogether though the work on the armature is neat, it is also crude. the rebuild job is incomplete. To put it bluntly - I would not use your services. You didn't check the bearings, you did not to a static or rotating balance, and you never did machine the commutator for square and flatness.

After all that work, I think you would want to lathe turn that commutator to make sure it is running true. I think I did see a couple of dings on it early in the video.
Also, with all the work, why wouldn't you replace the bearings? I know they are sealed, but there was a lot of heat and dust around them even if they were already worn..

37:13 Why did you testing insulation resistance by universal multimeter? It uses only 2 volts for testing resistance. You need proper high voltage insulation tester (megger/megohm meter) and test it with 500 or 1000V.

They were testing for short not for insulation. I guess when you pour a half liter of varnish on, the insulation is assumed to hold up if there is no short.
