i never got to join the scouts. my father was a scout when he was younger an a green beret when he grew up. i learned everything and more from him. now i know if i ever got stranded it would be one big camping trip after i got everything set up
Nice I love to see young people willing to learn outdoors skills. I've taught my son survival skills , you could say he's at the advanced level especially for his age (14).keep the videos coming we enjoy watching them together .

At time frame....4:30. Why do you have the whole black mug, with boiling water........INSIDE THE FIRE ? How are you able to get it out, to make coffee, or a soup ? I am a Canadian cub/scout leader.
The goal with that is to disinfect water as quickly as possible by getting to a rapid boil. To remove it from the fire, simply move the fire away from the cup and with two sticks you can remove it from the fire (I'd personally use a stainless steel water bottle or pot with a bail handle, instead of the stainless cup). The purpose of that exercise isn't to make soup or coffee, simply disinfecting water in a survival situation.
Scouts for me was sucky.when I think boy scouts I think camping learning nots and other bushcraft.but no,we didn't do any of that.i really think it's kinda stupid

Glad yans opened up your school to teach the Scouts. A different approach to teaching the same skills and maybe refreshing to some of the older kids.

Scouts should already know this, but now they have to outsource training that should be taught by scout masters.
